Combat vets please recall your most traumatic experiences in this thread. Don't be a pussy and go "WAAAA I NEED TO FORGET" fucking tell your story instead of eventually dying and leaving that experience to oblivion.

-Have you ever killed someone? What did it feel like?
-Have you had 'nam tier trauma?

Etc.

You have to go first, faggot. Then again, I'm pretty sure playing CoD 24/7 doesn't qualify as combat vet.
>>
>>34148168

No I don't because I've never been in the military and am a NEET recluse hikki wizard. If you don't respond and tell your story because it makes you feel all sad and cwy, you've just been bullied by me, Chad. High school is now reversed. Cough your story up.

The most fucked up thing I did was either me or my buddy accidentally shot and probably killed a young girl, and I think about if alot. I think the most traumatic part of my military experience wasn't overseas, but the assimilation process returning home. I've been out for seven years and I still feel stuck somewhere between soldier and civilian, in some eternal void. It's played hell on my social relationships and I feel like I'm starting to become really fucking weird or deranged. Not bitching, just sharing my thoughts. Anyway here's a quick rundown of the incident I described
>Baghdad 2007, middle of essentially a civil war between Sunni and Shiite
>Get called out to help some IP that have some dead bodies laying in the road
>Turns out they only needed rubber gloves
>Convoy stops, I'm rear gunner
>Being stupid looking at dead bodies and not watching my sector like I should have
>*,POP......WHIISSSSSSSSP.......*BOOOOM*
>RPG shot right at my turret from about 30m away, goes over my turret and explodes in a field in front of my truck
>Immediately return fire with 240 to the general area the RPG came from
>My buddy who is in the truck in front of me also begins to return fire
>Go to do a battle damage assessment
>See panicked Iraqi man running with a young girl probably 7or 8 in his arms
>She's completely limp, slightly waxy/yellow looking, bloody but tranquil
>Try to stop and render aid...he refuses
>We continue mission
>Platoon cracks jokes that I smoked a little girl
Yah I know it's fucked up, that kind of fighting is nothing but fucked up

Either officially or unofficially? I've seen it here before that the nickname for the MG42 was called Hitler's buzzsaw. I spoke to a guy at my school, whose was a Lt and was a signaller when they still had conscription, and he said the MG3 is still called that. Also not too long ago, there was a news report of soldiers painting palm-trees on their vehicles.

Not /pol/, but genuinely curious. It seems like from a soldiers perspective it'd wouldn't be a stretch to use some of the successes of the past as a morale booster. Speaking from a commonwealth nation, we still use a lot of British terminology, and customs.

Officially the Wehrmacht is not part of the traditions of the Bundeswehr.
The Bundeswehr's lines of tradition are:
>The Prussian military reforms
>The civil-military resistance of the 20.Juli 1944
>The Bundeswehr's own history

But you can't stop Germans from being German, and in reality most soldiers had their granddads or great-granddads fight in the Wehrmacht which results in a lot of memorabilia lying around in most barracks. Also the most infantry tactics of today are inherited from the Wehrmacht, but I never heard anyone call the MG Hitlersäge, but the Africa palm tree is still used in the Bundeswehr as an official unit symbol and tactical symbol.

I saw some derringer flats on theflatspot for less than 20 burgers. What tools would I need to finish the derringer build with a parts kit? On a scale of mating AR-15 lowers/uppers to functional Luger using hand files, how difficult is it?

The only derringer parts I can find only have the sideplates . They direct you to buy the barrel, trigger, and grips from another company.

I know some people sell NOS parts kits on eBay for ~100 dollarydoos, but I don't know if excalibur is still in business, since phone orders seem pretty antiquated in 2017

I only have 4 guns right now as well, but I definitely want to add a 12g pump. Right now I have:

Savage model 99 in 300 savage
Savage model 64fl 22lr
Heritage Rough Rider 22lr
And a RIA m206 .38 special

I'll add pictures later

What is it about working at a gun store that seems to demand ypu also case of crippling autism? (Based on my experience in gun stores in NH and MA).

They all act like they couldn't care less if you were there and get pissed if you let them know you don't know very much about something and would like their opinion on it.
