I'll start this one off with a story that just happened to me last week when I left to stay at a cabin with the doggo while my house was getting fumigated.
Found a nice place to stay on airbnb in the Mount Pinos area in CA, near the Sawmill Mountain. Got there late the first day but couldn't help walking the dog a bit, area is really nice, staying fairly light out for how late it is in the hills too, hooked up my xbox to watch some married with children on the tv (the cabin episode) and had a pretty great first night.

I don't care what happened OP, you're a pussy and you need to go outside more.

So, after a great night there the first day, I was feeling pretty good about my next day there. Skyped with my lady who didn't feel like coming with a bit, visited the nearby community pool (it's a rich area) and picked up some grub and more half n half to make white russians later. Generally just had a good vacation day. It wasn't til later around 9ish when it was starting to get dark dark outside, the kinda dark where you can't see the ridgelines anymore when things started to get a little... odd. First, I was relaxing on the couch chillin' out maxin' to a little fresh prince when it froze up and wouldn't go back to playing. My xbox is a little old so I didn't think too much of it, went up, hard reset it and went to go tend my evening fire.

thanks for your helpful advice Mr. Faggot, I'll keep it in mind
I'm right handed dominant but left eye dominant. Should I just get used to the weaker eye or switch over? If I shoot leftie, what are some good handguns with ambidextrous controls?
Just buy a striker fired pistol?
>>34170203
I shoot right handed but just shift the gun over an inch when I shoot.
Thats all you have to do.

What do I do about rifles, though?
Thought I'd start a thread where you can post why you carry and with what holster.
Im turning 21 this August and I still can't decide what I should go with
My heart wants to go sig p228
>15 rounds of 9mm
>great trigger especially with SRT installed
>satisfies German fetish
> great feeling gun
I rented one (p229 with e2) with my dad over Christmas break and loved the way it felt
But my brain is telling me go Glock 20
>not much larger than the p228 (grip length and thickness wise)
>pretty good trigger with a very easy to use reset (tested a glock 22)
>15 rounds of 700 ft Ilb underwood gold dots
>same weight unloaded as p228
And then my dick is screaming at me to go beretta m9, which I actually found to be MORE ergonomic than the p229 that I tested, and i felt it had a somewhat better trigger. It's also larger than the p228, and I wonder if I'd even be able to conceal it under my usual dress shirt (bloused) and khakis.
Then of course there's my ultimate just go with what your cock gets hard to, which is an ed Brown executive elite.
Which one should I go with? What other suggestions do you guys have?
Anyone pick a shockwave yet?
I got one the other day and put a couple hundred shells through it, its pretty boss.

I'm picking up this soon.

Want one but FUCK COMMIEFORNIA
>>34170059
Try to find one of the first gen M4 H20s. They generally cost a few hundred more but are NP3 coated internally/externally, have a collapsible stock, and a 7+1 capacity mag tube.
Hey, /k/. I turned 21 on Sunday and got around $2000 from friends and family for alcohol, but I decided to buy my first pistol instead. I've always liked the P229, but is there something you guys prefer I get? It'll mainly just serve as a drawer gun/range toy; I don't have my CC permit yet.
>2,000 dollars for alcohol
They must want you gone

>I turned 21 on Sunday and got around $2000 from friends and family for alcohol
I didn't get shit when I turned 21. What the fuck
P229s are nice but I prefer the aesthetics of the old w.german p228s. There are some good ones on gunbroker that are a pretty good value.
They can be used for CC no problem, but I'd consider a kydex holster since they're pretty t h i c c.
You'd still have plenty of cash to get a nice rifle, some mags and a couple hundred rounds of 9mm
Good on you for not wasting it on the liquid Jew.

Carbine gas? Shoulda got mid, also the fuck is that stock. Otherwise good choices

Upper was $280, I wasn't going to complain about the keymod, nor will I use anything accept for maybe a grip.
/k/ i've been thinking about getting a Yildiz over/under to get into trap. Anyone have any experience with them? I don't want to drop $1200 on an over/under shotgun and realize that I hate trap shooting.
I learned to shoot trap on a old wing master 870 that my grandfather let me use. Now I shoot with one I bought in a pawn shop. I've also used his bt-99. My scores are usually around the low 20s with both. If your just trying trap I would get a cheaper shot gun. Maybe a stoger condor if you want a over and over.

Over and under*
>>34169826
My first gun was a stoeger 20 gauge over under I paid $300 for. Besides being super picky with ammo it was a great trap gun for the money.
who /upgraded carry/ here?
I used to carry a .38 snubbie, felt it was enough for my day to day needs. After some recent events ive decided to go for something a bit bigger and am getting a glock 22 this weekend
Used to carry a Shield, now I carry a G19.
>>34169559
same
I used to hate glock fanboys but ive fallen to the dark side. Its just so good at being simple and jack of all trades. Ii still carry a 1911 or beretta when I want to feel special and different though

Think it was Jim Cirillo who said, A heavy gun is a pain in the ass, but when things go south, you'll wish you had the biggest gun in a big caliber...
In a SHTF situation what would be some good rifles to have? Should there be a grid down scenario what do you think would be your best choice to defend yourself from warriors such as pic related?
Something that shoots bullets, preferably.

An m60.
makeshift helmets for all!
Seriously where can i get pic related for $207

If you are a government agency and you're buying them in large bulk as part of a contract.
Otherwise it wouldn't really be financially viable to sell them commercially at those prices.

Just need to talk with people, networking and such. Start with the guys in the range shower next time you go.

I'm looking to get into striker-fired polyguns, and Glocks are cool but they don't really "do it* for me.
I really like the looks and ergos of the P99 and I was wondering what anons here had to say about them, especially since I haven't really seen them on /k/.
Are they good, are they garbage, and am I an idiot for wanting one as my first striker pistol?
>>34169156
They are the best striker-fired polymer handgun that exists.
They have three firing modes: DA, SA, and AS. In double action you have a standard and legitimate double action which is smooth and breaks around 9 #. The single action is a true single action with a short take up, short reset, and breaks around 5 #. The single action trigger is even better than the PPQ's trigger. Then the Anti-Stress gives you the length of the double action trigger but the 5 # pull if you want something inbetween.
Gen I has the best aesthetics but the proprietary rail means you won't really be usin accessories without a rail adapter, which is dumb. The Gen III is the modern and rounded version with the upgraded frame and slie and the elongated mag release and pic rail. Depending on whether you want function or looks, those are your best bets. Gen II and 2.5's have bits and pieces of transitional guns.
You won't go wrong with a P99.
>>34169156
You can LARP as Polish cops with the P99AS.
