That vietnam helmet I got that has the dent on it, what would be the best method to get rid of that dent? Do i use a rubber mallet or what?
Has anyone here ever walked on boots with hobnails?

I'm giving up on my search for M05.
I'm going to buy another set of Wz2010.
Should I go with the thumbhole or "at one"?
Thumbhole: custom LOP/pad/tip/engravings, I'll have to drill my own sling mount though
At One: built in adjustable comb/pad/sling mounts, no engravings though
If somebody could find any info on the weight difference that would help my decision (rocking a tikka t3 lite)
>>34218404
thumbholes are faggy just get the other one
>>34218438
I probably will, the thumbhole only weighs .5 lbs ighter which was the one thing I thought it had going for it. Do other people really thing thumbholes are faggy?
>>34218438

>Military academy graduate is assigned a leadership position with no real military experience or job training.
Why is this allowed? They are pretty much just kids who graduated from college that maybe had a little bit more restrictions and they pretended to be soldiers for part of a summer.
What do they have to offer over just drawing officers from the enlisted ranks like in Starship Troopers?
>They're separate from the enlisted. They having different backgrounds from the enlisted makes it easier to order them to their deaths or execute them for dereliction of duty.
Might make sense for WWI and before that. Now, maybe not so much.
SHIRO LOVES HER SHORK

The idea is that they're creating middle management for the military.
It's an old tradition that makes no sense, as OCS graduates tend to be better leaders anyways. They literally get taught by both officer and enlisted to not be a total fuckup.
Face it
Since the beginning of time officers have always been the elite. You are just another peasant, you will never be an officer. Officers are a higher class than you, why even bother asking? You're just embarrassing yourself.

>electronic earmuffs
Do you also need electronic guns to shoot in your stead?
Stop being so gay, it's not like you shoot enough to warrant expensive head toys.

Hey fags,
Young fag here, I want to get a gun but before I do that I'd like to better educate myself on guns in general, is there any good books or something out there for that sort of thing?
Welcome to /k/

Here are a handful of tips to keep you from making common beginner mistakes:
>don't buy a gun from a big box store, you'll overpay
>don't buy a gun from a gun show, you'll overpay
>don't buy a used gun as your first gun, you'll get ripped off because you don't know what to look for
>don't listen to any advice from gun store employees, most are fucking idiots
>if a new gun is considerably cheaper than all the other comparable ones, it's probably garbage
Got my buddy 115g buffalo bore +p+.
Fired one round through his two month old G17 and it cracked the frame and jammed the action.
Case ruptured and primer blew out through the back of the round.
What are his options? Is this covered through warranty? Does the round we fired void the warranty?
>Picture completely unrelated.
>>34216862
If it wasn't rated for +p they won't. I don't see how 1 round broke a 2 month old gun.
>>34216862
Pics or it didnt happen

this.
Surprised there's not a thread about this yet, does /k/ have no interest in subs?
Basically the first modern submarine simulation in more than a decade.
Been trying out the campaign and it's pretty good. Tons of autistic attention to detail behind a simple-ish interface.
What do you think?

When did researching a subject properly for a project become 'autistic'?

I think it's fun, although the ASW aircraft are OP. Patrolling over a Russian SAG thats smack dab in the GIUK Gap, really? Apparently the Air Force doesn't exist in this universe. Overall I really enjoy it, I just really wish there was a larger surface warfare aspect to it like Fleet Command (which isn't to say they were slouches when the Sub part, just think what they could do if they kept up their workmanship and included commanding fleets and stuff). Can't wait for them to expand on it.
So I'm reading the Waffen-SS Encyclopedia and at the end the author lists a bunch of myths and misconceptions about them he hopes will be explored more in the future (the book is from 2004) as it isn't really his field. Does anyone know if this has happened?
Myth 1:
The Waffen-SS suffered higher losses in combat than units from Heer because of fanaticism, poor leadership and sometimes inferior training.
(Which is more or less how Wikipedia currently describes it).
Myth 2:
The Waffen-SS possessed/received superior weaponry to the Heer.
This one I see often mentioned. Always with the mention of a group of Panthers being given to a green SS group instead of experienced Heer.
Myth 3:
The Waffen-SS and war crimes
Wartime and post-war propaganda has caused many to have the desire to identify the Waffen-SS with the commission of war crimes, to the exclusion or near exclusion of other branches of the German armed forces.
There is also the widespread assumption that men of the Waffen-SS were indoctrinated political soldiers and this outlook is assumed to account for the greater proportion of war crimes attributed to the Waffen-SS.

So I just moved into a house my grandfather left me in central PA and I found these in the basement. Does anyone know what they are from just looking at them and do I have to do anything/register them w/e.
I opened and closed the chamber and it clicked if that matters. One has German written along the side.
>>34215919
Give pics of markings. Look like .22 target rifles though
You don't have to register them. If you want to be able to identify them you should take pictures of the markings and post them so we can have a better idea of what you have. Or use your Google fu and try and i.d. them yourself.
>>34215962
eh it's probably nothing special, don't know where markings are but this was neat.
