I just finished Koikake.

To be fair, one of the major point of the story is about the MC writing a romance novel. After the whole debacle with Sena's band and after she read the novel, she really should have come back to MC. I don't care if they add some drama, but the current actual route just doesn't fit with the rest of the story. It's not like I hate sad endings, but in this case it makes the whole game looks meaningless. It seems that the writer just want to frustate the readers with no good reasons.

Anyone read オズの国の歩き方 here?
If I had to describe it in one adjective I'd have to say It's very maerchen.
It's mobile only but the writing is really well done, I feel like a child reading a book for the first time since it's in Japanes. They'll use simple writing but here and there, then they'll throw in some descriptive sentences for flair.
I love the feeling of mystery sorrounding the world, especially when the game starts up saying "project nightmare" with a chibi scarecrow running with a razorblade on a grassy sunny backdrop. Even though the setting is all too familiar with most of us it feels like when you watched OZ for the first time, confusion and curiosity mixed to perfection.

I mean the problems i can see with most literature in general is just lack of vocab, the inability to envision and understand certain language used by the author (like the author might write thing a certain way that might be a bit different from the norm and it might be hard for somebody to properly grasp it) and just cultural stuff really.

The hard parts of Dies Irae are the manhyougana sections (quoting ancient literature) and the 言い方 of some characters. From my experience the author also uses grammar concepts (esp kobun) rarely found in other VNs. The vocabulary level is above average. The VN has a total of 2752 kanji which is above average. I think for an 18 year old Japanese native it would not pose a significant challenge (in terms of the language itself, not comprehending the author's deeper truths or what have you), but for a foreigner learning the language, it is exceptionally difficult and among the harder modern media one could read.

Is there a word for games that have many moege traits (e.g. light-hearted story, non-sexualized setting, lengthy SOL sections, moderately high production values) yet also have many nukige traits (e.g. girls fall for MC within seconds, no subtly to romance or relationships at all, girls behave in obviously nukige ways (e.g. sharing a bath with a dude you met a couple hours ago), high sexual content throughout, no attempt at anything resembling drama). But she has the most after stories of any of the heroines so I'm hoping my opinion will change after going through those once my dick recovers.

I don't want to make you read my personal blog, but okay. Japanese is my university major (along with Economics, universities are also free where I live, so no need to lament not choosing STEM). So I studied from textbooks written by my native Japanese lecturers. I was getting them as printed copies per lesson, now they made it into an actual textbook.

I also did tons of self-study, mainly writing kanji. As for Japanese entertainment, I watched raw anime mostly. But nowadays VNs are the main thing.

Since it's my university major, I had to study Japanese from all sides - passive and active, with Japanese history, literature and culture on top, so I feel my progress was slower than most peoples' on 4chan, who just focus on passive reading ability.
