That's true, but a lot of people do go give long and well-detailed answers.

As Serbia pointed out, you can't legitimately expect to learn about another country on /int/. I've made posts here asking about Mexico, where I'm going in in March, and most of what I got back was "hur dur dunt lose ur head." When I put the same threads up in /b/ and even fucking /r9k/, a lot of people gave me great information I would have had a hard time finding alone.

That's a good point. I like that when the discussion here is good, it's actually good.

/trv/ just seems to have a lot of substance to it. People aren't mean to each other unless they really deserve it, there are very few memes, and the majority of posters seem genuinely interested in answering questions about places they've been or giving advice.
