Finland is the best because of their autism, obsession with nerd culture and intellectualism, and introversion. It also looks a lot like my home. The buildings don't have enough variety though.

Norway probably comes next over all with their indisputably best quality of life and top-tier landscape and nature.

Not sure where the other countries would in terms of overall quality of life. But in terms of nature, it goes Norway, then Iceland, Finland, Denmark, and Sweden last.

Copenhagen is nice and Aarhus is ridiculously underrated. Denmark's landscape with it's rolling hills and beaches is underrated and just seems comfy.

Sweden doesn't seem that interesting except for Stockholm, Dalarna, and the Lapland national parks.

Icelandic is the best language, followed by Swedish. Norwegian is ugly as shit and nothing will dissuade me from this opinion. Danish is just better and flows better, and Finnish is obviously pretty wacky and cool.

Finnish=Finno-Ugric (Uralica), Swedish=Germanic (Indo-European). The languages are totally different, there are maybe a couple hundred loan words that are quite close to each other, but other than that the languages have pretty much nothing in common. To state some differences:

1. Finnish language doesn't have any articles, Swedish does
2. Swedes use prepositions, Finns usually bend the words, meaning that we add shit to the body of the word and it changes the meaning. Some prepositions are used in Finnish as well but not nearly to same degree.

Swedish is related to all other Nordic languages and they are mutually intelligible to a degree, Finnish is the odd bird that came from the east.

Apart from the incredibly dull nature, and shitty winters with little snow there's not much to dislike about it for me personally. Has the most interesting Nordic capital in my eyes, and is just a short train travel away from the heart of Europe.

>2. Norway
Mini-Denmark with amazing nature and outdoor culture. Dreary weather and poor infrastructure, but blessed with a very strong economy that makes its citizens forget its flaws. Can't compete with its Scandinavian brothers in most fields, but still a lovely country to work and live in regardless of socioeconomic status.

>3. Sweden
Could very well be put higher on the list, but bigger immigration problems, more focus on political correctness and more extreme feminist movements than their neighbours is dragging them down. Has the most complex economy, and is the most innovative Nordic country by far, but is also the Nordic country with the most wasted potential. Bonus points for the impressive mountainous regions in the north, the beautiful archipelagos in the south and the best-looking Nordic capital.

Even though we’re their neighbors, Finland is viewed as mysterious country to many Norwegians. We don't know too much about them, and the language barrier isn’t helping either. Just the thought of living in a country that shares a 1340 km border with Russia is a bit off-putting, we have enough trouble as it is dealing with our <200 km border. Their economy is also coming down hard right now, but hopefully they have what it takes to rebuild it. Not a fan of their cities, they’re the least appealing out of the “big four” in my opinion. Nature looks okay, but too few extremes for my liking.

Felt as if it wouldn't be fair to place a part of a country higher than the country itself, but in reality I would most likely pick Mariehamn if given the choice between it or any major Finnish city. I don’t know enough about either places to know what I’d miss if I selected otherwise, but Åland looks like a very nice place to live as well.

A low ranking for Iceland doesn't mean I don't view it as a good country, it looks wonderful. Unique nature and culture. Living in such a remote place looks very challenging though. You’ll miss out on a lot of awesome events on the continent unless you're filthy rich.

>7. Faroe Islands
Beautiful nature and interesting culture, but simply put, way too small and remote. I don't have the personality or mindset to live a happy and fulfilling life in such a place. I also imagine it would be very hard for an outsider to integrate in such a close-knit community.

Oslo has plenty of beautiful parts, but also some very ugly ones, like the ones near the central station. Bergen and Trondheim are both beautiful cities in my opinion though.

I think you've probably seen some pictures of meme cities like Kouvola, which we can all agree wouldn't need any alterations to work as a set for the next Fallout game. Smaller inland towns can sometimes have rough looking architecture, which is why I said Norway does those better (though yours are mostly on the coast).
