That's because Ancient Greeks have nothing to do with modern Greeks, embracing Christianity is the single most important thing in one's life. You can't expect me to relate to non-christian savages.
At least our God doesn't threaten us with death when we leave the faith.
You can leave anytime and Jesus will always be there waiting and praying for you to see the light <3.
>adoring a man
>pretending he's god
>pretending he's also the son of god
New Testament has greater weight desu. When's the last time you saw a Christian advocating stonings?
Jesus' existence has more credible evidence that Israeli land rights.
>mfw proud of not giving a fuck about anything
Haha, just kidding. That rock was because you're a cunt.
post-mongol/ilkhanid Persian art, mah guy.
He is a role model for any person who agrees that the world has become a giant pile of shit where you just happen to be involved by ridicule circumstances. The american dream, the successful man, values, morality, healthcare and so on are just tricks that keep you away from this fact
Old Testament laws dont apply no more since Jesus was the ultimate sacrifice. Thats why christians eat pork and dont circumcise.
Literally every christian knows this. Hell I aint even christian and I know this.
Charles (or Henry Chinaski) would never consider himself a role model or example. I doubt he ever saw the world as good. He just realized that the office job, gated neighborhood, and kids aren't for him.
The only thing he would advocate is people living their own lives.
except the Church always toyed with what laws to keep and what laws were abrogated because absolute abrogation was the view of heretics. It was an issue the Church never fully resolved in spite of the rhetoric otherwise.
Ok Im going to break it down. The laws are still the word of god, but since God made a new covenant by Jesus, they carry no penalty.
The days are coming,” declares the Lord,
“when I will make a new covenant
with the people of Israel
and with the people of Judah.
32 It will not be like the covenant
I made with their ancestors
when I took them by the hand
to lead them out of Egypt,
because they broke my covenant,
though I was a husband to[a] them,[b]”
declares the Lord.
33 “This is the covenant I will make with the people of Israel
after that time,” declares the Lord.
“I will put my law in their minds
and write it on their hearts.
I will be their God,
and they will be my people.
34 No longer will they teach their neighbor,
or say to one another, ‘Know the Lord,’
because they will all know me,
from the least of them to the greatest,”
declares the Lord.
“For I will forgive their wickedness
and will remember their sins no more.”
I would also keep away from using what the churches do as an example of what Christianity is. Jesus was against organized religion and told people to only pray in private. He also kicked everyone doing business on the temple grounds, kind of the opposite of what churchhes like catholics do.
Why? It is the religion of the weak and destitute.
