Do americans realise they live in an oligarchy? I mean having three members of the same family able to effectively compete for presidency raises no eyebrows? or the fact that all of the presidents so far have been related to one another through distant irish origins? or even that the hicks get way more voting power than the rest of the country?
oligarchy:
noun
a small group of people having control of a country or organization.

It raises eyebrows for me, but I don't know about the rest of the country. I'm a Sanders man
>>51089784
I don't think it matters what political agenda you adhere to, because Hillary will win, Bernie Sanders is big on the internet but he's discredited by mainstream media which is where all the hicks will get their ideologies from.

> He worries about our Senate.
Are you sure you aren't Strayan?
>people with the same last name as another president shouldn't be allowed to run for president, even though the people can choose whether they want to elect them or not

Its like ancient greek democracy - when even a poorest peasant had at least 3 slaves.
>>51089784
>I'm a Sanders man
>>51089912
Your missing the point, the choosing whether they are re-elected or not isn't chosen by a fair processes which leads to people taking advantage of the system
Not much we can do without amending the constitution since the Roberts court has fucked us over so hard on campaign financing.
A lot of the people I've talked to about it are uneasy about Jeb and Hil because it just seems sketch.

reminder that Donald trump donated to Hillary Clinton’s Senate campaigns in 2000 and 2006, her presidential campaign in 2008, and has given at least $100,000 to the Clinton Foundation
They mostly know but feel they can't do anything about it so why bother. Even if you don't like Hillary personally or politically you can't deny she has the appropriate life experience to be "qualified'

Hillary has probably flipped her mind on issues 10x more often than trump. Just 10 years ago she was super pro war and anti gay

>a small group of people having control of a country or organization.
That describes every country, every country is controlled by the government which is a small group of people.

This. She's well-educated, a lawyer, and has a lifetime of experience in politics, including holding two of the highest positions in national politics already. That really checks all the boxes for national office. I don't think her name should matter.
Look, having fresh blood is good but when it comes to politics, you don't want inexperienced idiots. Politics is a lot of work, highly complex, and difficult to do well. Just look at the current Congress if you want to see what "outsiders" can accomplish. (Hint: nothing.)
Given the choice between somebody with no experience and somebody with lots of experiences, I'll always choose the latter save for some exceptions.

but muh 2nd amendment
>>51090095
thats not an oligarchy
>>51089764
they brag about it everyday.
The Electoral College is a horribly muddled, complex and undemocratic system of election
Just fucking get rid of it America and replace it with a national popular vote that uses preferential voting so that a third party doesn't split the vote
>M-muh minor states that will be oppressed by big states
That's what the Senate is for

Why is it a flag of a Crimean town behind him, is it a threat?
>>51090267
>flag of a Crimean town
Of course you would know
>>51090287
Why not.
>>51089764
It's more like a plutocracy actually.
>>51090267
based Árpádsáv
>>51091127
Yeah but like 70% of your plutocrats are self serving idiots. Not that it's much better here. Plus I think there's a strong theological element to it, has America ever elected anyone to the presidency that wasn't an open Christian?

Obama.
He's muslim.
