Hey guys. I'm living in Korea.
I have a question about circumcision.
Most of Korean guys have circumcision.
Even we are not muslim or Jews
What about your country?
>The Australian Longitudinal Study of Health and Relationships is a computer assisted telephone interview of males aged 16–64 that uses a nationally representative population sample. In 2005 the interview found that the prevalence of circumcision in Australia was roughy 58%. Circumcision status was more common with males over 30 than males under 30, and more common with males who were born in Australia. 66% of males born in Australia were circumcised and less than 1/3 of males under 30 were circumcised
It started to prevent masturbation, which was considered extremely detrimental to one's physical and mental health. Veterans who were circumcised as adults to prevent infection while living in the trenches of WWI kept it going somewhat. The hygiene and "it looks better" arguments are used to justify it now, although the real reasons for its continued existence is extra profits for hospitals.
Imagine a doctor charging your parents $400 to cut your ears off and then selling them to a medical research company for $2000 each on top of that.
>less than 1/3 of males under 30 were circumcised
so like all the Australians in this thread said, only old people are circumcised
Wouldn't be surprised if the rate for todays new borns is not even above 15%
Its fairly hard to emigrate here, if your poor, even if you get a green card through family ties, almost all recent emigrats are barred from receiving any form of government assistance.
