Any /carib/s on or anyone interested in caring about our nowhere land?

Your island is nice thou. I want to go there.
>>

>>

Same reason you're here

>>26165207
What do you want to know?
>>
What distinguishes St Lucia and St Lucians from the other Caribbean countries?
>>

from how was your day/night, weather, favourite booze to landscape.
Posting local qts wouldn't hurt.
>>
First official thread?
>>
>>26165278
Is there any future on your island or does the bulk of the young people emigrate?
>>
>>26165405
For my country STEM people emigrate, the others usually stay
>>
Should I immigrate to Saint Vincent and the Grenadines?
>>
>>26164146
>Putting niggers in charge of paradisaic islands
Fuck you Europe you ruined the Caribbean with your nigger slaves
>>
>>26165589
So how is life there furthermore? Just relaxing? Only working in the summer seasons for tourist and such life? Thats what I imagine about small island states.
>>
>>26165405
If you're exceptional you'll probably emigrate and only come back to see family but there really isn't much to make out of a small island like this place but they send remittance so that probably helps economic growth
>>
>>26165379
It's humid as hell and I rarely drink but it's usually piss water or rum
>>
>>26165348

They all consist of niggers (of varying degrees) who live on island paradises and subsist of rum export to America and American tourist dollars.

What's there to tell?
>>
>>26165348
Probably just the dialect.
>>
>>26165405
Here in PR there's a brain drain, mostly to the USA, but then you get those people being nostalgic and coming back because the diaspora communities are full of bydlo, and the Americans and other hispanics will treat you like an outsider. Some stay though. And island life is relaxing, provided you're not living in the city.

>>26165912
Ah that sucks. Islands living looks relaxing if youre born into that culture. Most of the Surinamese and people from the Dutch Antilles have that 'relaxing' attitude. They dont like the 'everye minute of my life must be filled in with something'.
Cant decide though what the better life is. Doing nothing and be happy or develop yourself.
>>

What is the food like in St. Lucia?

I have no particular question but this thread is interesting, just tell us a bit about your life man.

This seems like a reasonable argument.
Do you guys suffer a lot from hurricanes?
And are the island internationally orientated or is the news manly focussing on the caribs
>>
>>26164146
How much would it cost to travel there and be there a few days
>>
How do you feel about cruise ships?
>>
>>26166277
It depends on which island you are on the Grenadines are 32 islands each with different rates etc.

>>26166251
Not many hurricanes but storms can still wreck shit.
The news usually treats them as segments

>regional

You mean if the news talk mostly about the caribbean? Then yea

Martiniquans use the euro like you guys so they just come to hotels on weekends and then leave on Monday so I assume it's pretty cheap.

Do you think that we should have a ferry that runs between our countries?
I mean I can see St.Lucia on a clear day and LIAT are money grubbing bastards.
>>
>>26167149
We don't? and yet we have a ferry to Martinique.
It's probably not economically interesting enough.

I dunno, if you country was invaded by Jamaica or something

Also, what are the most shithole-ish countries in the region? I hear Antigua and Barbuda is pretty bad. And of course Haiti, but I think that goes without saying.
>>
>>26167806
Yea pretty much

>>26167979
From what I remember from social studies
The richest countries at the time were Jamaica, Trinidad and Barbados.
Jamaica got butthurt because they opted to put the capital in Trinidad instead of Jamaica.
So they left and got independence on their own,Trinidad and Barbados didn't
want to support the smaller islands and they left as well. This left St.Vincent,St.Lucia,Grenada and Dominica as bros
>>
>>26168244
can't think of any africa tier countries other than Jamaica
>>
>>26168342
>>26168081

I take it Jamaica is the least liked island
>>
>>26168440
Can't really say I hate an entire country for fucking up something I never experienced and everyone listens to the dance hall music Jamaicans put out
>>
>>26168440
Trinidad and Jamaica kind of have a "thing" going on. Jamaica wanted to boycott Trinidadian products some months ago because they deported some Jamaicans.
Trinidad has oil and is a supplier of most of the Caribbean snacks
and beverages so they didn't give a shit.

All major Zambo populations successfully defeated American/European forces; the Seminole Freedmen, the Miskito, and the Esmeraldas Zambos, through a combination of African military practices, Iron metallurgy, and Native American agricultural and geographical knowledge.

It can be comfy if you yourself have a fucked up sleeping schedule, nothing really beats taking a long walk with your dog or a jog in the middle of the night while it looks like it's in the middle of the day, but no one else is there at all.

There is no abnormal sleeping schedule for the general population, but it gets depressing and annoying rather quick.

I mean, you mean general living or decent living? In a city or in a smaller town? It all makes a difference. But with USD $30k you're easily (i mean easily) living the good life. I mean, a 2-story house with its own parking costs 110-ish in the city, and by the time you get to the smaller towns that's enough for an actual mansion. Point is, living is cheap as fuck and if you can get by in Bulgaria, you can get by where I'm from.
Lifestyle? Pretty relaxed, I mean, people are becoming more hectic in their daily lives but still not nearly as bad as here in the U.S. People spend a lot of time outside, even if its literally on their porch playing dominoes with the neighbors, and tropics means that all year long you don't even have to worry about shit like the weather (except for hurricanes if you live in some shit-hole slum)
Black-white ratio varies, but there's enough of both not to freak you out too bad, and the people are used to seeing foreign white people everywhere. But at the same time, it isn't perfect, shithole neighborhoods are still shithole neighborhoods, but I do think it's getting better, slowly but surely.

Agriculture, Tourism, some Mining exports, etc.
For cars it depends on how the dollar is trading I suppose. I think they tend to be quite affordable for economy models. Tax is 18%. We also have a lot of used cars coming from the US. You can bring your car if you want to move here. Luxury cars have higher import tax so you'll be paying more. Doesn't stop people though.

My greatgrandmother did Palo. She had a big party dedicated to a saint, spirit or whatever each year, but I don't remember which one. It was pretty fun, I would look forward to it since young. and I wouldn't call it obscure but most Dominicans have never taken part in any Palo ceremony, and can only "dance" palo by imitation.

I have a somewhat strange question: in case of a severe economic crisis/disaster, can the islands fend for themselves? Basically I have the impression all the food is imported and awfully expensive in modern isolated island nations

Why can nigger only live together without destroying and killing on islands? Is it because they become only tourist economy and it means that they continue to be slave? And nigger, they only exist well when slaves. I think all nigger should live on the islands. Maybe we take African oil then put water on each country border and they will soon be like your carribean country. Why do nigger nead a cocounuts around them to not be shithole? if I took a palm tree and put in a niggers house would he stop throwing his shit like monkey? Are you calmed down by the palm tree and cocunut? is this the nigger secret? do american fight drug war by purchase bananas and hang them up so you feel at home? they need a cruise ship not a police car?

Not really, I mean there is still some Hinduism, Islam, Voo Doo, some practitioners of Obeah but most people are Christian.
There is the Rastafarian movement that started here but that was born from the Judeo-Christian religions of the Europeans and aligns itself with Ethiopian Orthodox Christianity

The smaller islands have infrastructure just as good as Jamaica.

>>26174889
There can be large divides between the rich and poor so averages may be off.
You could make a living here just like anywhere else though.

There are enough white people here, no one is going to stare as though they have never seen a white person before, so you don't have to worry about it.

Depends on how you want to live, you're not going to get a nice big house for as cheap as the states, but houses here won't be made of papier mache like yankee houses though

Life here is hot as fuck

I shan't comment on theism vs atheism but all I'll say is that Christianity has been instilled in us due to colonialism. It's part of the mindset of people ergo it is hard to shake.
Furthermore, your country is a very Christian one too, so you can't really judge us.

Not here, some other islands. You can mostly find trade jobs here if an international company wants to bring you in, also in mining and education to teach english at some schools, but the market is very limited. What expats mostly do is set up their own businesses.

>>26175551
Of course, many people retire here also. Even people that just move for fun or for a change of scenery. We have a lot of Venezuelans recently trying their luck down here and they just bring all their stuff from there.

I guess, a few hundred would get you a week, at least like 500. But I mean, hotels included or not included? I can't help you on resort prices or anything, but I'm talking cash to spend bar-hopping and shit. I'd bring 1k if I could so I could have the best time, and that should be more than enough. Research some more though, since are we talking about a resort (Puerto Plata) or the capital city? /trv/ actually isn't totally useless for that sort of deal. Citizenship is a joke as long as you aren't Haitian. Tends to be pretty basic, but I don't have a lot of experience with that since I don't hear about Europeans getting citizenship (even though there are a lot around, I just never bothered asking them.) Businesses depend on what you're selling and where, basic market saturation knowledge just like anywhere else in the world. Not too difficult if you know what you're doing and don't listen to "that one guy down the street whose cousin knew a guy who once operated a clothing store this one time." You know the type.
