Konkret heißt das, dass eine zentrale Vermittlungs- und Rechtssprechungsinstanz der deutschen Wikipedia bis auf Weiteres lahm liegt. Sprich, falls du ein Problem mit einem Admin haben solltest oder eine Grundsatzfrage in Sachen Regeln, wirst du wahrscheinlich niemand anrufen können. Das Schiedsgericht funktioniert so ein bisschen wie BGH und BVerfG in einem, wenn du es dir etwas anschaulicher vorstellen willst.

Editierattacken gibt es m.E. weniger, als die Leute denken. Konzerne haben einen mords Schiss, bei sowas erwischt zu werden. Kommt eigentlich hauptsächlich bei dummen Promis und Politikern vor, die selbst Hand anlegen und nicht vorher nachdenken. Attacken auf politische Themen gibts schon, aber das sieht meistens so aus, dass der Kommentarbereich der taz oder der Welt geschlossen in einen Artikel marschiert, irgendeinen Müll über Konzerne oder Auslenders hinterlässt und dann wird der Artikel halt ne Weile für Unangemeldete gesperrt. Problematischer sind eher die Grabenkämpfe zwischen solchen Leuten, wenn sie auf Wikipedia Fuß fassen und die Antifaschisten die Burschenschaftler, die Antigenderaktivisten die Feministinnen oder die Putinversteher die Putinhasser bekämpfen.

Warum so ein Umstand gemacht wird, ist schwer zu sagen. Im Herbst sind schon drei Leute zurückgetreten, als sie es intern erfahren haben; der vierte Rücktritt kam dann von der Schiedsrichterin, die es ausgeplaudert hatte, weil sie jemand drauf ansprach, der es schon wusste. Nachdem die gebeichtet hatte, sind drei weitere zurückgetreten, weil sie das Schiedsgericht beschädigt sahen und Neuwahlen wollten, ein achter hat den Rücktritt mit seinem generellen Misstrauen gegen MAGISTER wegen einer alten Geschichte begründet. Bleiben noch fünf Mitglieder (Mindestzahl für Arbeitsfähigkeit), eins davon ist eben AfD-Mitglied und dürfte nach dem projektweiten Shitstorm in so gut wie jeder Angelegenheit befangen sein. Und ja, Wikipedianer nehmen ihre Arbeit zu ernst.
