They should keep going because that's the brain trying to get away from the stress of drawing. If you reject it, your brain will always keep rejecting it. So accept it and continue through it.

Stop with that particular drawing and start a new simplified version.
Or isolate the thing not working out and draw that thing on another piece of paper. Do it multiple times to understand this object more thoroughly.
