Being a legitimate sufferer of schizophrenia, I can say that I relate to what he posted. I was downright invisible as a kid because of being a middle child.

I was never praised, nor encouraged. I developed schizophrenia as a result of a number of things, but I definitely am pretty much indifferent to compliments as well in the present.

Negative attention was essentially all I got, so I actually tend to respond better to criticism than a compliment.
