Noticed one more thing about this that throws me off. On the side of the stone path there are a bunch of small rocks with dark shadows and hard edges that look really out of place in the edge hierarchy, almost as if it's a detail that's bashed from another piece. It doesn't look as if it's painted in the same resolution.

I love Bouguereau, but sometimes he made such a weird proportions. Legs of the girl on the left are all fucked up. Look at the length of the hips, try to find where the legs are connecting with the pelvis and trace how her left leg is positioned (other girl rests her hand on the left girl's left knee, which doesn't make any sense with the ange on the left foot). He probably painted the left girl in different sittings and doesn't bother to place the model properly or the bitch moved a lot like a cunt while the master was working trying to immortalize her stupid ass in his painting.

It's ingenious if you don't care about making good art and want to make quick buck. She certainly is a agressive business woman and knows what people like. She's also very productive. My point is your argument is entirely subjective, now I'll play the devil's advocate for a second here your argument would hold more ground if the Artist included some form of narrative that the figure he drew is "x" age; however if there is no narrative of age we're now in the realm of speculation and based on context clues such as child bearing hips, visible breasts (despite the size or DFC), fat pads around the naval area, etc. we can say that she is a mature woman with supporting evidence.

In the case of Murata we have figures with quite visible breasts, feminine fat pads, and characteristics of a woman.
