Watch the proko video tutorials and then go back to fun with pencil. Proko uses similar methods to Loomis anyway but he summarizes it nicely.

I also think Fun With Pencil is shit compared to other Loomis books but I guess it's the most accessible.

They take a look at Fun With a Pencil and think the head exercises are retard and either won't bother with the rest or get frustrated because they skimmed over most of the book and aren't ready for the other exercises.

It's not supposed to be super fun, its supposed to teach you how to construct basic human forms and think better in 3-D you fucking retard.
Most art classes or similar books follow a method that's usually based on or inspired by Loomis anyway.

Stop symbol drawing, learn proportions, use spheres to figure out forms, basic anatomy and drawing. That's what it's teaching.

Stop pushing beginners away from the sticky, its more than helpful.
People should use around 3 different resources when learning construction/anatomy and Loomis is one perfectly viable option.
If it's too difficult they should go back to Drawing on the Right side of the brain and practice drawing what they see from life.

Angles of straight lines, more specifically. I wear really strong prescription lenses and it fucks up my perception, especially from drawing from life.

When I draw vertical lines and flip the canvas, they're veering to the side. And when I'm looking at say, a sexagon shaped fountain, it's extremely difficult to recognize and draw the subtle shifts in planes.

If it's not someone already in the industry doing big things, caring about it is wasted energy tbqh. I never understood why people treat a lot of nobody amateur artists as celebrities online. It just gives those artists an ego they have no business having since they are generally invisible in the mass scope of the art world. I've got a few "popular" internet artists following me already and I never announce that they do or give them gift art. I never even announce my follower count whenever it hit's "benchmarks". I basically ignore them and just keep drawing what I want.
