Too much of your lighting is "pillow shading", which makes it look unrealistic, almost as though every individual object or section in the picture has its own light source floating dead center, directly above it.
This is most prominent in the left-side girl. Her legs, arms, and chest have shadows all around the sides, and lighting only dead-center on their mass.

If you look at how their legs overlap, the shadows from pillow shading are giving the illusion that the left-side girls leg is being squished flat by the right-side girls leg.

Picture related, it's what to avoid (it sticks out way more in pixel art).

Yup. basic stuff. Study anatomy, proportion of body and perspective. Study some stuff from you favorite porn artists and ask questions about their choices and break down the pictures into 3d in your head, question what makes their art sexy.

You probably seen enough porn to have ideas for some dynamic sexy pictures in you head. Treat the paper as a 3d space you can put your hand through. Draw like your tracing the contours of a 3d object in that space. Think and see the object before you even put the line down. If you get stuck or have a blind spot use get refs.

The foreshortening on the torso is off. It looks like her entire stomach area is missing. You can either move the upper body lower and draw her spine curving upwards to her butt, or move the entire upper body left so you have a bit more space to suggest the foreshortened stomach. Either way you should figure out how to connect her back to her butt though. Even if you hide it with the arm the parts that you do show look off.

BBC was mostly attacked for what he was drawing, and not so much for the quality of his art. Kyle was mostly attacked for copying photos. But they did also get a ton of regular critique. I personally think BBC is one of the better artists on /ic/, but I really don't like his style or subject matter.

I think it depends on the skill level of the artist. Art critique is easier to give to people to people with at least a basic understanding of the fundamentals, because you can pinpoint specific parts that need to be worked on. With beginners who have no sense of form, lineweight, perspective or anatomy, it's very difficult to give criticism that doesn't boil down to "draw more and use these resources".

Over the past two years, I can only recall one post that offered critique. I'm not complaining, just stating my observations.

I have no idea what you're referring to here. I generally try to stay as neutral as possible in order to avoid drama, but it still pops up. One of the reasons I posted sketches, at least early on, was in order to get criticism, so that I could correct mistakes and actually finish something. I always end up nitpicking on the same details over and over, and nothing ever looks right in my eyes, which is one of the reasons I don't finish stuff. I get stuck on some flaw I can't fix after wasting hours o nit, and give up.

Do I need to specifically ask for criticism when posting on a board labeled artwork/criticism? If I seem passive, it's because I'm trying to avoid the endless drama that comes with shit like this, but it seems to be having the opposite effect. Guess I'll go back to lurking.
