aaaand full so far
Started few small paintings again, need to try different approaches because I changed paints. I managed to score some Nevskaya Palitra Master Class paints, they act totally different from what I've been using, so it might take a few takes. Also pushing a bit to do two paintings a day, moved to countryside for few months. Nothing else to do than paint and discover local areas.
thats a big tablet...
no shit
>>2630959
For you.
>>2630959
They don't make em big like that anymore. Intuos 3 is the last best tablet from wacom with the 4 in 2nd place and the bamboo create in 3rd.
Haven't done this critique thing for a while. Here are some of the new paintings of mine. I will probl put some old material here too. Any comments and advises are welcome.
With this I have been really happy how things have developed out to be.
I don't give names to paintings because it will lead too strongly viewer to feel certain way about the painting.
What do you think?

Hello /ic/,
I'm trying to find a spray varnish that will work on custom cards. I'm working on a project that will require me to digitally design a card (like a poker style card) and then print them on card stock. (I have access to a Xerox machine made for printing on a heavier card stock).
The paper I'm printing on is a 170 coated stock (similar to what you would see a baseball card printed on)
Heres my question, I want to be able to shuffle the cards I print multiple times to be used in multiple games over the course of years. Do I need to put a spray varnish on it? If so, what kind? And second, Is it even necessary to take that extra step?
Thanks /ic/
It wouldn't be a bad idea to look at least look for a waterproof sealant of some sort if they're going to be actively used by your client. Spray type would be super ideal if you can find it, otherwise prepare to spend a lot of time brushing on that type of sealant on your cards. desu that type's not that bad, but I'd imagine it would be a pain in the ass, especially if it's a full deck.
oh, hello I am a beginner using tablets like Wacom or Genius. I bought a intuos wacom pen draw to start drawing, and have tried various programs such as Photoshop, FireAlphaca or PaintToolSai, but my big problem is that when I start drawing sketches is me very difficult to circles to the head or other, it is true that FireAlphaca has the option to make circles but does not accommodate me .... you like and experts. What do you recommend me?
lot of thaks <3
>>2637774
I don't know but that drawing on that box is terrible.
Well, SAI comes with a line stabiliser that you can adjust as you like ( i use to set it on 6 i think...)
However, after a while drawing on Photoshop i just got used to it... maybe you need some more time.
And for what it's worth, i also reduced the active area on my tablet (intuos pro medium) a bit, making it smaller made the lines come smother, but that's up to you
>>2637996
wait how do you do that?
How do some artists make their works look pleasing even when they're only sketches or doodle?
People You Yoshinari, KJG, Krenz or even Vetyr.
Obviously they have good technical skills but some other artists are just as decent and they work harder on their pieces but their creation still look meh.
What make a piece aesthetically pleasing?
Practice and confidence.
>>2636452
there's a few rules that you can learn, sinix has a good video on appeal
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2vnFdYksnqo
and stephen silver covers good design fundamentals in his schoolism courses which i'd recommend wether you want a cartoon style or not, the stuff he teaches applies to everything.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PEiaGGp5ddY
apart from that, as long as you focus on wanting to have aesthetically appealing art and surrounding yourself with art that is appealing, studying it and working out what it is that makes it successful, you should come out with an aesthetically appealing style

Because we should not have to make new threads or post in draw threads with our fundamental exercises.
Feel free to post even the smallest exercise you have done to show you are still trying, do not give up, make your mom proud.
AVOID asking unrelated questions, there is a question thread for that.
RESIZE YOUR IMAGES TO ~1000 PIXELS:
#1)
>screenshot the image and post that instead (also images shouldn't come out accidentally sideways with this method)
#2)
>change camera capture settings to something smaller
#3)
>send to computer and resize in MSPaint

Feel free to post your original works as well if you're trash.
TRY TO BE MORE ACTIVE AND GIVE PEOPLE SOME FEEDBACK - many studies are left unreplied, which is a bit sad and can be quite demotivating for the people that try their best to improve, but are left directionless.

How to paint like this? How to do it in GIMP or Krita?

by being good
I'm 23 and I've never drawn before, is it impossible for me to get good if I try? Or am I just wasting my time?
You're fucked, mate.
16 is the cut-off age.

this question is a idiotic, let me explain why.
If you really want to draw, you'll want to draw even if you're 65 and never did any drawing. It doesn't matter how old you are, if you really want to draw, that won't go away, so you have absolutely nothing to lose.
source: I'm 31 and have always wanted to draw and finally got started this year. it won't go away and you have nothing to lose. and you'll get better at any age. let the age-meme die.
>>2630261
>age-meme
>implying it's a meme
Come back when you can actually draw, grandpa.
protip: you're never make it
post some tattoo designs guys
Are there any good drawing boards to draw with other users? Back in like 2013 I'd use Artgrounds a lot but it seems like it died to a lack of traffic. Just wondering if there are any boards that /ic/ may know of and use.
>>2639014
Drawpile or flockmod are the best, they have servers you can set up yourself or you can join ones that others have set up. The only problem is that there's a massive influx of undertale faggots on theses sites. You'll fit in nice.
>>2639026
ive noticed that too
why tho
>>2639068
because tumblr
saw this on twitter, someone commissioned it for $100.
is it worth?
>>2635789
Yes. Don't let /ic/ tell you otherwise.
>>2635789
Art is worth whatever people will pay for it
Yes, I'm retarded.
I can't figure out how to use the brushes you see everyone an their mom use in Krita, Clip Studio Paint, Sai, etc.
By which I mean the "blending" brushes, like the watercolor ones that kinda mix the ground color with the color you're using.
How do I use them and not make the thing look like shit? What strokes do I use?
pic is random google result
>>2634700
Should watch FZD, guy blends without any special brushes.
>>2634707
How is that special to Feng? Literally everyone does that. I do that.
I'm asking how to use a tool I don't understand.
>>2634700
use the fucking colour picker you swine.
