QUICK, a phenomenom has occured! Literally 4chan AND tumblr hate the new Powerpuff!
You've been contacted by CN to turn opinion around! How do you change her?
>>3133852
>her
Mind xer pronouns, bigot.
>>3133852
First off get rid of the fucking hips. Jesus Christ who thought of that shit for a child?
>>3133857
Um hi, so some of my friends says that you can get criticism of your art from here. So im gonna try my first time to get some opinions from 4chan. I know this looks like a bad idea for starters but I'm gonna wing it. So here's my shitty drawing, hit me with anything you got. Suggestions, critiques, help, anything. Sorry if my drawing is bad and I draw it on a notebook.
>>3133514
I'll give it to you straight: This is not the place to come for what you want. This is probably the most inconsistent board on all of 4chan and will leave you high and dry much more often than not. Do not rely on this place for tips on improving. Just read the sticky (the very first post on the first page that never changes. Has the painting of the old man reading the paper smoking a pipe) and after that, idk. Search for the beginner thread if you insist on staying. Just type in /beg/ in the search bar.
As far as this immediate picture goes, it's not the worst thing I've ever seen on this board so congrats.
Glaring flaws are the feet and hands, but especially the hand pumping the shotgun and the foot on the same side. Looks like his wrist is broken and it looks like his foot tilts at an obviously unnatural angle. Just looks fucked up. The shotgun itself doesn't seem to flow very well. The angle near the trigger looks alright, but the butt of the gun looks like it's facing straight at the viewer instead of being viewed slightly from the bottom like the rest of the gun. No pelvis, it just looks like his torso leads straight to his legs. The excess belt right under the butt of the gun needs to either be shorter or sag a little if you plan to keep it that length indefinitely. I'm tired af so I'm not gonna write anymore tonight, but there's plenty more you could do better even at your skill level.

Not OP, but where the fuck on the internet can you go for a productive community since /ic/ isn't recommended? ConceptArt is dead as fuck.
>>3133721
Reddit lol
Who else /aiming to be an arts teacher/ here?
>>3133326
Do any other current/future art teachers feel retarded compared to others career paths or is it just me?
Maybe if I get good enough one day, but dealing with /beg/'s bullshit is already kind of enough for me. As a teacher though, they would have trust in me and that would make things easier because I could just tell them to do something and they would. That's all art really is.

This thread is meant for artists who might want to try to make anime works in-between their studies, however, all forms of stylization is welcome here. It is strongly recommended that you use this thread in conjunction with learning the elements and fundamentals of art. You can also discuss the visual elements of various professional artists as well if you keep it relatively articulate and civil.

Fresh off the Mayflower? Then do yourself a flavor and read /ic/s supplementary sticky HERE:

Remember, don't be a big meanie https://my.mixtape.moe/fivxol.png
Hello! I worked on this a lot today. As you can probably tell, I'm not experienced with backgrounds at all, but I'm trying to improve! May I have some pointers on what to work on?
Did this up quick to meet a deadline but now it got extended and I wanna re-do it but I also should probably just move along and work on drawing up info on their world and species.
well you can be a great artist whether you're a fatass or /fit/, athletes must be in shape for maximum performance. Artists mostly study and practice things related and can usually mess up and restart without a problem, but an athlete (normally) must know teamwork and are supervised which means mistakes are acceptable to a certain point.
I haven't answered your question, it's up to you really. but in my opinion I think playing sports is harder because I've never seen anyone develop a taste for sports when they're older which means playing sports is unattractive, but anyone can start liking art and pursue it.
Art or "art"?
I'd say equal as far as time/mental effort that professionals invest in each respective discipline. However the two are sort of incomparable in terms of raw "skill". Art is generally more cerebral and requires a strong sense of ideas/abstract thinking, in combination with incredibly fine motor skills. Sports don't generally deal with big ideas like art does, though they do require a lot of physical discipline, similar to the finesse of artists.
Do you still go on conceptart.org forums? Is it still worth it to start a sketchbook there and post progress? Or is it a graveyard at this point devoid of the artists who are actually good?
Don't bother, I'd say. Sketchlab.org seems a better place to make a sketchbook atm.
Ok it's time... Show us your most valuable possessions, your brushes.
>>3135985
I still have a bit of trouble keeping my brushes clean painting with oil. I clean them with paint thinner and cold soap and water. Still, they don't look pristine like this.
>>3136216
The secret is to never paint!
This drawmixpaint guy on Youtube suggests to never clean them at all. He coats them with linseed oil and makes sure they never dry out in his studio.
i get my brushes from the dollar store. spend the money on paint and boards/ canvas
was thinking about make a big plywood animatronic pony that takes a fleshlight.
any ideas (artistically)?

Just... Go to a church man, like, right now, you need Jesus
>>3135880
i go to church every sunday
the lord has commanded me to make this
>>3135884
then go ahead, dont dare to defy the words of the lord
Someone should make a tv show about an artist who wants to become next Ruan Jia or whatever, that could be funny and insightful if done by smart people.
There's already one. It's called /ic/ - Artwork/Critique.
>>3135829
Eh, most of the struggle is internal, it's hard to make a movie about that.
The closest you can get is Whiplash or that one manga about the girl gitting gud (pic).
someone should make a tv show about an autistic manchild that makes shitty threads on a vietnamese yodelling enthusiast forum from his mother's basement because he is too lazy to draw stick figures
it could really activate your nougats if voiced by shrieking japanese schoolgirls
Whats the name of this art style?
>>3135811
>>3135811
I believe it's called "high school"
Are there any good ones out there?
in b4 "all YouTube tutorials suck"
Post your work first
all YouTube tutorials suck
>>3135707
didnt even typed u cunt just copypasted from op
>make a twitter account
>try to fill out a short biography
>slowly begin to realize I'm a boring person and don't know what to put in
>check other artists twitters
>they have a nice bio and just tweet about their life, to what they're eating, to their cat
>begin to cry
How do I become an interesting person? Or is this just a "just be yourself lol" situation. I want to write a lot in my biography but then everyone else has theirs short and sweet because probably nobody gives a shit about the individual but their art. So I retract from my style of writing and end up taking cues from others? But then it just doesn't sound like me and feels like I'm trying to hard to be someone else.
>>3135573
just be stoic and professional. post only your work and don't talk about your personal life. that's all every one of my idols is like
Everyone lives a god damn lie of an ideal life on social media you stupid faggot. If you can't be the same, you're not gonna make it. Also branding comes from individuality which isn't just their art, so if you can get people to like you, you can get more shekels out of them for the same quality of art as someone else.
Or you can just be yourself and blog about how you cried trying to make this blog.
>>3135573
It's all illusion. They try they damnest to come up with interesting tweets, bios and whatnots. Stop tryharding and just post your work. I don't give a shit what people had for lunch in a fancy cafe or what sorta article they just read, I want to see their work. Everything they post is ready-made, made by someone else.
Is there a right place to share my beginner hentai-ish artworks or not?
>>3135425
Hentai foundry.
Has there ever been a gesture battle on /ic/ or is it just a meme?
How does it work? What are the rules?
>>3135162
>>3135162
There was one a long time ago on last autist standing but there was no one true winner. The first "recorded" one was with nosebro...but the first attempted recording was by some another anon (that's how the meme started).
Both parties essentially stream themselves doing gestural drawings under a time limit and the winner with the better drawings is the better man. I don't think there are any rules.
>>3135186
shit I should have censored n*sebro's name he likes to archive search his name damn it
