Long story short, I've been trying to get good at drawing anime garbage for about 10 months now, and I recently drew this. Problem is, after drawing this, I couldn't draw anything proper for about a few days now. Face shapes feel wrong and facial features are misplaced. Any advice for what to do?

Listen man, a good manga artist is actually a good artist. You must know actual real life anatomy before you make manga. So go study anatomy books.

same issues as the last time you posted
to begin with, the source content is stale as month old bread
it's done during the daytime (removes most of the suspense of the original story)
boring shot composition
shitty bloom filters
the cuts with him approaching are very ovious
cheap,
trash costume. nice knitted gloves at 0:57
slender man is told to be a being that stalks you, meaning the awkward full sprint he does while the actor tries not to trip is hilarious
very, very cheap stock scream effect
maybe if you leave for another month and make another thread, people will be more favorable to it then.
Also, to be noted; your original video was much more interesting than this. It seems like you have deeply regressed. Go back to your roots because your framing in the first was better
and last but not least, you would probably be better off posting in /tv/
watch as many psychological horror films as you can and take notes to things like music cues, lighting, and reveals.
sometimes what isn't there is way scarier than what is; that doesn't mean you CAN NOT show the creature/monster, what it means is obscuring them or keeping them shadowed will increase the fear of the audience because it will make them think "Is there really something there? Or am i just seeing things?"
try to film at night if possible, if not then try looking up a tutorial to work with saturation, hue, contrast, color correction, leveling, and curves to make it appear night.
Ive been working on a comic of mine for a while now, and im currently working on
only at page 9, and the comic will atleast be 20 pages long. Ive had a slow pace as im distracted by games and school and work
all the time. Can you motivate me to pace up somehow?
Pic related its the newest page from my comic (i had to resize the file so the quality is not great.), i know its not amazingly well made
but i am just a humble comicbook fan and not a pro artist. This is actually one of the first and longest works ive done with a decent wacom, and the only one i currently have because my computer fried a while back and i lost all my files. (i know i can recover them but havent bothered since they are even more trash.)
Give C&C if you want, and if somebody is interested about the backstory of the character i can disclose it with you.
Holy shit i didnt realise the quality was THAT bad.
Many things are distorted there.
>>2713160
I wouldn't know how to motivate you, but I feel like you should practice a bit more with fabric and anatomy. Also there is a few grammatical mistakes.
so how much does this guy pays? is it even worth it to phootobash your way to the top to get to work with people like this?
>>2712724
Who the hell is this though
>>2712756
confirmed for never gonna make it
He's uberbased.
no clue how much he pays, maybe I'll find it out soon.
Now that the dust has settled what do you think about this guy?
>>2713148
Dust settled from what?
He's a nice dude who explains things well. He's not really doing anything new or unique but he teaches in a solid manner. His humor is kind of cringy but endearing. I don't think his actual work is all that interesting, but he's still quite young so won't judge him too harshly on that.
Just like most russians artists I've met he is way too concerned with naturalism
He would greatly benefit from working on loose and stylized stuff
>>2713223
And become the next Sycra?
It would benefit him as an artist, but not as a teacher. He's exactly where the community needs him to be.
He's like the counter influence of Jazza on yt, he's young and his vids well made, so the newbies, who would shun Loomis at first, get a dose of what fundamentals are and how to study them. Pretty much nobody else does this, so yeah, who cares about the money or the cringiness of his humor.

FAQ:
Something's broken, what do I do?
>The site is currently in the alpha phase of development and is being built around us as we compete so sometimes things go wrong. If you ever need any help send me a tweet @LavaFlake or shoot me an email [email protected].
What do we draw?
>Whatever you want. At this point there's no required topic so draw your heart out. Make sure you submit at least a half hour of work or you may get a low effort warning.
What's a low effort warning?
>The goal is to get people to draw every day by turning it into a competition. The low effort warning system is to prevent people from posting last minute, quick sketches when they're feeling lazy. If you receive a warning and it happens again within a month you'll be eliminated.
>This rule has been the cause of a lot of concern amongst newer artists so let me reiterate: this system is to police low effort content and has nothing to do with the quality of the work. New artists are more than welcome.
What happens if I'm eliminated?
>A new Last Artist Standing challenge starts every week. If you get eliminated then get it together and rejoin next week.
How can there be a new Last Artist Standing challenge every week?
>This is a way to let new artists join in and to allow re-entry for the eliminated. Every week a new challenge is started. If you joined on week 1 and make it to week 2 then your daily submission counts for both the first and second Last Artist Standing. If you get eliminated then you're eliminated from both challenges and you'll be able to rejoin next week.
Will I have an advantage if I join later in the week?
>The winner of a Last Artist Standing will be the artist with the longest streak. If you join on day 1 and last until day 85 then you'll have a streak of 85. If there's only one person left in the challenge when you're eliminated but they joined on Day 7 then they'll need to continue on for another week. If they're eliminated before then, you win.

Why is the skill gap between western "pro" cartoonists and western pro video game/traditional game artists so huge?
>>2709347
Because you are a cherry picking shitpster
>>2709347
Bottom is what we call photobashing round these parts. It's not really all that impressive.
>>2709347
Because Adventure Time is for children. It's meant to be simple, colorful and humorous. The picture you linked is clearly aimed at a more mature audience, hence instead of dumbing things down to grab the attention of kids with a one-track mind, it's able to go more into detail without losing appeal.
It's not that the cartoonists aren't talented, it's just that they have an audience to appeal to.
In terms of Art Nouveau painters, why does a hack fraud like Gustav Klimt get more praise and recognition than someone who was actually good like Alphonse Mucha?
>>2709828
Never even heard his name before, but saw his art in documentaries about art fraud. Have heard of and seen mucha and his influence all over the place,
Who cares about shit artists like klimt and picasso who don't actually good? Klimt has early works that aren't just fucking about on a canvas, but that's obviously not his style. Same way for mucha though, not many think of this when they think mucha.
>>2709828
because he wasn't called pimp fly
>>2709828
They're both incredibly famous. Klimt was also not a hack at all and was very skilled and original. Is Klimt even Art Nouveau btw? I don't usually consider him to be a part of that, probably he is Symbolist or something else.
>>2709847
>Never even heard his name before
Are you serious? Klimt is one of the most famous painters in the world. He's one of the only names that normies know of.
>artist draws an amazing piece
>go check their profile to see more of their art
>the rest of their art is shit/mediocre
Why does this happen?
It's like when a musician/band has one really good song and the rest of their music is just plain and boring.
everyone can have good ideas , just not all the time in most cases.
you can't always draw to the same quality/goals
not all people have the same taste
why the shit thread?
Because art is about evolution. That one amazing piece could not have happened without all those other shitty pieces.
Thoughts?

Bump
What is harder, to git gud at drawing or to git gud at making music?
i dont think theyre comparable at all senpai. might as well compare art to sports or something
>>2712137
They're probably equally difficult to fully master at genius levels (Mozart vs Sargent). To get a basic grasp of and do it competently I think music seems a bit easier. It's not uncommon to get 10yo kids playing violin or piano at a professional level, but you never get that in art until people are in their late teens. I think the main difference is that music you can learn to play something written by someone else, whereas in art you need to come up with your own composition each time.
>>2712146
Nonsense.
Anything that takes effort is comparable.
Does a pencil sharpener exist out there that can give these kind of tips? Just incredibly long? I mean im okay with even half of this, just looking for something considerably longer than the usual half inch tip. Even an inch would be good, 2 would be superb
And if no sharpener, can some sandpaper contraption help with this? I just dont want the mess with a razorblade
Just get a wood whittling knife or something. Safer than a razor blade, more practical than sandpaper.
Just use a box cutter, totally safe.
That said, I'd be interested if a sharpener exists too, simply because it takes fucking ages to do it by hand, especially with hard leads.
>>2711999
I met a guy who enjoyed doing that, and i still wonder how do you reach such levels of art-autism
Any tips on oil painting alla prima?
I have a job to do tomorrow but I always seem to end up thinning the paint out and applying it by layers and erasing the brushwork.
Do the opposite of what you do.
i always blend and layer darker values until i get to tje lighter lights, then i just start using bolder brushstrokes. im no expert tho.
>>2709334
Dont blend. It makes a painting muddy. >>2709328
Anyways the only time you shoulder use thinner/oms is for the sketch or if youre laying down the values. After than you should us liquin, linseed oil, or another similar medium. A helpful tip that my teacher taught me was lay down the darkest color first and also fill in the background. That way you have both the darkest dark and the background which allows you to decide if the color of the skin is lighter or darker than the background and the darkest dark.
Remember to always compare with the darkest dark. Then decide is the color lighter or darker. Warmer (red, organge, yellow, etc.) Or cooler (blue, greens, etc.). Idk if this makes sense, but it helps me. Anyways what exactly are you painting? A portrait, a landscape?
post where you draw
Your tower is taking up valuable drawing space. Why work on a corner when you can be on a nice straight table surface?
