Are these any good for comic drawing? Do they fade away when you erase the underlining sketches and smudge when you color with markers?
Those fineliners/multiliners slightly fade when eraser underlying pencil sketches.
They also won't smudge when you color with markers, as long as they're dried properly.
COPIC multiliner brand is very expensive for it's function

rotring isographs specially pic related, are pretty good, but the part encircled breaks easily. Loses thread for no good reason at all.
I recommend using Staedtler tech pens. Try other brands to decide.
Most art teachers suck at art.
>>2696788
Ya know, i actually got really pissed off about this yesterday. Not just about how art teachers sometimes arnt that great themselves but also about the way they teach art. Students in japan (im using japan as an example, i know theres other places) draw really well because theyre taught the principles of art and how to properly layout a composition, etc. Here in fucking america all the teachers teach you about is 'how great picasso was' and 'its your style'. they assume you already know how to do expert level stuff even though theyve never taught that. I saw a tumblr of a 16 year old italian kid that draws like a fucking god, yesterday. meanwhile, 20 year olds in america tend to draw like shit.

>tfw art class always cover fundamentals
>tfw you didn't realize how important they are because only ever explained with fine art
>>2696804
They dont always cover the fundamentals.
If they did maybe there wouldnt be so many sucky art teachers.

Did meisan have a stroke or something? Literally what the fuck is going on? She's never been AMAZING, but at least she wasn't drawing like a six year old before.

I have no idea who that is, but looking at her gallery, it looks like she used to trace more famous artists. I recognize several of her drawings, including the one in your picture. Looks like an Òbata drawing.
I was wondering if anyone knows of some good resources for writing a story?
I know a big part of what makes a concept artist is the ability to work within constraints and to create something that is congruent with the story. But, if you can't write a good story, then forget it.
How can I work on my writing chops?
Yo, /lit/ here. Also a creative writing major. To write well, you gotta read well. Read a lot of stuff and, as you read, think about what the author does that you find to be effective. This includes things like individual word choice, sentence construction, overall plot, everything. Then, write some stuff of your own (doesn't have to be long, just a little short story or something), post it somewhere (like a critique thread on lit), and tell people to fuck you up. They probably will.
When it comes to writing characters, things are a bit different. Things transfer over, but you really want to focus on making them
1. Emotionally believable. Even in fantasy worlds, people have reasons for doing things and being a certain way. Make sure you know those reasons and try to make them manifest visually when drawing.
2. Interesting. If they're the same as everyone else, why do we care about them? Exceptions are things like when you're designing the way an average dude would look in a certain society or something, then they SHOULD be pretty normal. Mostly.
And 3. Likeable by some type of person. Not everyone will like every character you write. That's how it goes. But when you're writing them, think about what type of person might really connect with them. Don't try to make a character be loved by everybody, cause that tends to make him/her really boring. Come up with an interesting character and stick with who they are in everything they do.

where can I learn more about choosing sentence construction?

Seems like you are looking for a nice way to procrastinate. You don't need to know how to write a fucking story as a concept artist.
How do I draw designs like these?
I've tried plenty of times using rulers, but I still can't manage to draw them perfectly. They always seem to be uneven. One is bigger than another or the line is crooked.
any advice?
>>2715036
They're just small motifs that are repeated. You can break each of those down into series of small squares that are all filled with an identical shape. Use a ruler to measure out a series of squares then fill each one carefully.
>>2715054
ah, thanks
I just drew them using rulers but I guess making them into squares and using rulers as a guide seems easier.
How to master the free hand ellipse. I am struggling immensely with getting correct perspective ellipse. I don't want to draw a grid every time.
>>2714904
draw a thousand of them every day for a year or two
>>2714904
mileage
however, it always shocks me when I see artists that've drawn for ages and gotten to a decent level yet can't draw a decent circle or ellipse freehand, pretty amazing how far you can get while slacking off the fundies

>dejo pic mia
Excuse me but who is gonna waste his time on your shit story if you don't say anything about the plot, the payment AND you are admitting your english is bad?
You just failed a basic interview task while asking for a paid work, good job.

I'M INTERESTED!
WHERE IS THIS "NEXT PAGE" YOU SPEAK OF?
This is a interpretation of our reality being shifted towards a singularity that our human primitive instincts cannot control.
The artist is C.lyon
This sold as a large print for $5000
Thoughts?
it's beautiful
I can't find this anywhere on the internet. The author doesn't exist. I call shenanigans.

Low-effort bait, OP
Pic unrelated. Need help, how much are Karl G. Koepping original Engravings worth on average? Lets say a decent sized one.
His glass wares seem to go for a few grand, can't find any pricing on any of his engravings so far.
