is $100-$150 per image enough for something of this quality? I'm trying to recruit an artist for a project that needs a handful of slightly ero illustrations.
>>2717372
Is it per image?
If so, You got an email? I'd do it.
>>2717373
per image. well, why not. throwaway email is above, anyone who sees this feel free to send samples if you're comfortable doing so
also pic related is a style i really like
Hey /ic/ im kinda losing my mind over here

Could you fucking learn to sage threads instead of bumping them if you're going to make these useless posts?
The things you can find on the internet...
I just started paying for illustrator. Friend wanted me to draw a pokemans. I don't watch pokemans but I decided to give it a shot. What do you think?
>>2728103
Good concept/design, but a bit boring execution for me. It's IMO a case of small things piling up: ribbons not having any fold, the right one could be fixed a little lower and fold to the left/up, a thing on its neck could use a contour in at least a part of it and more pronounced tilt on the left, front legs could be extended and fixed so the will lay on inclined ground plane like hind legs...
Generally I like it a lot, but as I say - I have a feeling from it that it is a bit plain. I think trying to tweak it a bit could improve it.

Thank you! I appreciate your critiques. I am painfully aware of all the flaws. I copped out there at the end (towards the body) because I never had a rough sketch to start off with. Maybe if I plan out my pictures more instead of trying to rush them, I'll see fewer mistakes.
Your outline of Sylveon is the same width all the way around, this makes it look boring imo. For a start, try to use different sized pens on the outline to make it more interesting.
So I've read loomis and I know to construct random faces from imagination. But what about drawing someone specific. How do I do it without resorting to symbol drawing and just copying the features from a photograph onto the base proportions? How do I draw people without any reference, how do I remember their faces well enough? How do I study their features? Is there a book for this? Or was it already explained in loomis but i just missed it? Searching on the internet just gives symbol drawing tutorials.
>>2728032
post your merc
>>2728032
You read Heads and Hands?
>>2728032
look at the face, draw what you see.
How different is your pricing should be between private commissions and book illustration/indie games?
>>2727416
Charge based on the budget of the client. Some book publishers are small and so you might charge only a few hundred. Some publishers are big and can afford thousands, so you charge that. Most private commissions pay poorly so they're usually not worth it, but go through the motions and bargaining and see how much you can charge someone.
>>2727416
I'm bothered by the perspective on that piece, especially the ground plane. Either change the perspective on the bird or shoe placement.
>>2727427
Your right, the tail should be lying flatter on the ground based on her feet. cant unsee it now
I can't decide if it's thriftier to buy a cintiq or spend a bit less on a tablet+pen combo instead. Anyone ever try some of the free apps for iphone/android on a tablet with a pen? I kinda want the tablet 'cause I can bring it everywhere unlike the cintiq and I can browse the internet and shit on it too.
Just buy the cintiq. When you get into trying alternatives you will end up spending more money when you realize the cheap shit just cheap shit and that the cintiq, while grossly overpriced, is still a better buy than some toy from apple/Android.
>>2725896
Most tablets feel fucking awful to draw on. Like finger painting with a half second delay. Don't get thrifty when it comes to digital tools, you get the best software, the best hardware and you use the shit out of them.
>>2725896
Look up some Youtubes comparing various options and try to decide from there. My 2c: Most tablets are not worth the effort but higher end options like surface pro or ipad pro are great. These things unfortunately aren't cheap. The Apple Pencil's response is simply the best you'll get (palm rejection, sensitivity, angling & shading, zero parallax), very hard to settle for less when you get used to it. If you must have photoshop and easier file handling, get a cintiq or surface pro. At any rate a portable option is well worth the compromise, it's fun as hell to do shit like take your gear outside and do plein air painting digitally, snap a photo then finish at home. If you're looking for the most cost effective option it would be better with a cheap computer and older wacom tablet.
So I have an idea for a tattoo that I want. I've always wanted a pin up, but I like to make every idea my own, at least a little bit. So instead of a traditional pin up girl, this popped into my head. I want a picture of a princess being carried away by something. My first thought was goblins. I've been searching for a few days and have only come up with a few pictures that fit the bill.
I want to put it on the front of my forearm, so it will be visible when I am sitting at a table, kind of giving the impression that the "goblins" or "minons" or whatever they are, are carrying the princess to their master.
Just a few ideas for what I want the goblins to look like maybe. I am unsure exactly how I want the princess to look, but I am thinking of a tattered torn up dress, I would like it safe for work if possible.
To clarify I am wondering if anyone has any images that fit the idea.
Old thread's dead
>>2722073 (OP)
Because we should not have to make new threads or post in draw threads with our fundamental exercises.
Feel free to post even the smallest exercise you have done to show you are still trying, do not give up, make your mom proud.
AVOID asking unrelated questions, there is a question thread for that.
RESIZE YOUR IMAGES TO ~1000 PIXELS:
#1)
>screenshot the image and post that instead (I recommend ShareX)
#2)
>change camera capture settings to something smaller
#3)
>send to computer and resize in MSPaint

>Thread study: Try to draw/paint the opening or any other following images.
Feel free to post your original works as well if you're trash.
TRY TO BE MORE ACTIVE AND GIVE PEOPLE SOME FEEDBACK - many studies are left unreplied, which is a bit sad and can be quite demotivating for the people that try their best to improve, but are left directionless.
>>2724279
These are my 5 minute studies from the past week. I seriously need some crit because I feel like I'm not moving forward very much. My brain is still stuck on symbol drawing and my lines are shit. I think I'm going to bump my studies back a bit and work on cubes, perspective, and lines
>>2724282
Here's another one
>these past handful of threads
Come on guys, this isn't difficult.
>take a decent work from the old thread
>type /BEG/ in big ass letters across the picture
>use as OP image
>make sure /beg/ - Beginner Thread is in the subject NOT the name field
>provide 3-4 poses, 2-3 animals and 1-2 buildings/landscapes as references
Every thread the OP misses at least one, but usually most of these things. We would rather have a good thread than a rushed thread because somebody wanted to be the OP. I will attempt to correct this shit by sharing references
What should one study first in order to git gud? Perspective? Values? Life drawing? Or perhaps it doesn't matter that much? Also, is there a downsight to learning digitally instead of pen and paper?
>>2728041
you'll have to study all of it anyway.
so start with what you think is the most important. think about which that might be yourself. or just pick the one that interests you right now.
in my case i always analyze what i'm lacking and then go from there.
most importantly you'll just need to draw a lot.
>>2728041
there's no fucking shortcut to drawing you fucking adhd shit head
>>2728041
Everything.
1) Draw something.
2) Fuck up.
3) What did you fuck up?
4) Why did you fuck it up?
5) What do you need to practice to not fuck it up (as much) in the future? (spoiler alert, it's gonna boil down to fundamentals)
6) Fiddle around with whatever it is that you needed to improve in
7) Repeat forever
8) ?????
9) Heat death of the universe
That's in theory. In practice, as long as you don't stop drawing, and you don't stop studying, you'll be fine.
Pretty much the practice of any skill or craft consists of three things
Fundamentals (important from beginner->master)
Tricks (intermediate->master)
Improvisation (expert->master).
Invest in a sketchbook so you don't have to worry about the downsides of doing digital only.
I need art done for a movie poster, post your art for consideration

How can I improve this logo?
Thank you a tonne in advance
Fatter, larger text, smaller star with sharper, thinner edges (try to follow the curve of their center lines, the tail needs more streamline and a key that matches the star. The star centers color dodge hurts to look at, make it one color. When you design a good logo you have to think simpler, clearer, always emphasize the text.
Delete it, study design for a year and then start again from scratch
>>2726301
Try /gd/, no amount of gesture studies prepares you for logo design.
Colour scheme kinda sucks and the intricities don't read, aim for a more silhouette based design and try to incorporate complementary colours for more eye-catching direction or keep it one hue for more of a branding approach.
A fragmented cat.

fuck you its mediocre as fuck
Is this trash?
Absolutely
110%. Even if you want to draw anime shit you gotta get good at still life and perspective and anatomy and all that other shit.
