i tried a version years ago. technically you could use it to paint, but for practical purposes it was useless, because of the lag and the lack of appropriate tools.

Why is Ruan Jia so idolized here? The only thing that is pleasant too look at when it comes to his work is the technique. He knows how to render but besides that his art is lacking imagination. There is no emotion, every piece of art of his is plain and boring. inb4 fuck off to modern art
I love old approach to drawing focusing on fundamentals and overall substance over style but at the same time you cant get too boring with that. Are chinese doomed to be so bland and generic forever?
