>newgrounds
seems legit
Because we should not have to make new threads or post in draw threads with our fundamental exercises.
Feel free to post even the smallest exercise you have done to show you are still trying, do not give up, make someone proud.
AVOID asking unrelated questions, there is a question thread for that.
RESIZE YOUR IMAGES TO ~1000 PIXELS:
#1)
>screenshot the image and post that instead (I recommend ShareX)
#2)
>change camera capture settings to something smaller
#3)
>send to computer and resize in MSPaint

There's a new (and cleaner) sticky in town! You can see it at:
https://docs.google.com/document/d/1uwaXKU7ev6Tw_or__o8ARpUb6r2rCZYJGqwSFV9AD98/edit#bookmark=id.15jx3pyuimvj
>Thread study: Try to draw/paint the opening or any other following images.
Feel free to post your original works as well if you're trash.
TRY TO BE MORE ACTIVE AND GIVE PEOPLE SOME FEEDBACK - many studies are left unreplied, which is a bit sad and can be quite demotivating for the people that try their best to improve, but are left directionless.
OLD THREAD: >>2782100
Let's have fun with thumbnails!
Next week, we should start a collab thread; but before starting any illustration, thumbnailing is important!
So post abstract, value, or color thumbnails.
To kickstart the noble collaboration spirit, improve or expand on previous thumbs.
Get that speedpainting creativity flow for a change from your hard loomis studies!
Template follow in the next post.
3x3 template

Kudos for iniciative, if the thread is still up by wednesday I'll help

How does this work?
What is your opinion on russian academic drawing? Is that approach better than anything else? Should I go that way if I want to be a good illustrator?
I personally know little to nothing about it but I had a friend who went to a Russian drawing course outside of our University's courses and she said it was where she learned best how to approach art fundamentally.
It's too mechanical. It tries to have some human accidents here and there, but they just make matters even worse by seeming both shallow and contrived. Very few who study it make anything worthwhile as well, even if they can become technically good.
Not that there are much extant programs that are better.
>>2773989
So can somebody tell me what does this aproach consist of?
Is this an acceptable alternative to Photoshop for digital art?
good bait
>>2786787
I don't know a lot about it, is Photoshop vastly better?
>>2786785
i tried a version years ago. technically you could use it to paint, but for practical purposes it was useless, because of the lag and the lack of appropriate tools.
Any good books on how to do shading when drawing from life? I can draw shapes and lines, but when it comes to shading I fuck up my drawings.
If it's dark shade it dark, if it's light shade it light. Why do you need a fucking book for commonsense? You should just drop art if that's too hard 4u op
>>2787438
the one weird tip for ez shading i think is what he's looking for innit?
What do you think of this sketch for a game I'm making?

I need to draw a 16 page doujin as part of my extended porno portfolio and so far I'm stuck with the writing.
Anyone can help me how to write a good doujin?
Have you drawn your own doujin?
What makes a good doujin?
>ONII CHAN
>TURNING MY WOMB INSIDE OUT
>BEATING MY WOMB
>MY WOMB WILL NOT LOSE TO A MERE COCK
>MY WOMB IS DROWNING IN YOUR SMELLY SEMEN
>STUPID ONII CHAN, NOW I WILL HAVE TO GIVE BIRTH TO YOUR RETARDED BABIES
all you need to know
>>2779404
>What makes a good doujin?
usually starts at the part where the generic protagonist runs into the class rep taking a touble dicking in the nurse office
>>2779404
>What makes a good doujin?
This depends on the target audience and genre
Is it possible to pursue a career in art if you did not major in it?
>>2780009
No.
Unfortunately not.
Off to art school with you!
Probably not if you wanna do bullshit like your pic
Is it possible to self teach myself with this textbook? How should I schedule myself? (I work at ups). How long will it take to see results

Do Keys to Drawing instead, do all the exercises at least once the first time through, and go back as needed. Can you self learn? Yes. Do most people quit after going into it with a "I'm going to put so much time in and get so good" mentality? Yes. Pace yourself and stick to a program.
Why is Ruan Jia so idolized here? The only thing that is pleasant too look at when it comes to his work is the technique. He knows how to render but besides that his art is lacking imagination. There is no emotion, every piece of art of his is plain and boring. inb4 fuck off to modern art
I love old approach to drawing focusing on fundamentals and overall substance over style but at the same time you cant get too boring with that. Are chinese doomed to be so bland and generic forever?
>>2779757
fuck off to modern art
>>2779759
shut the fuck up you nigger ape motherfucker
>>2779761
you want a serious reply?
>Why is Ruan Jia so idolized here?
he's not, not really.
>I love old approach to drawing
You don't know what this means
and
you've been taught
>There is no emotion, every piece of art of his is plain and boring.
I disagree with both statements.
If you don't know where to start, read the sticky.
