I've made it elsewhere, art is just a new way to torture myself now that academia isn't up my ass 24/7.

And? He's completely right.
He drew like every generic ass concept artist ever. Now he draws like every asdf wannabe. Why would anyone ever aspire to be like this guy? He is just a follower.
In a certain sense he's right, but what can be noticed by modern and contemporary works, is that they build off of one another, each trying to one up each other. It isn't so much that if you too create blank canvases/"boring" geometric shapes, you'll be famous, it's more the fact of adding your own spin to it and presenting it in a new way to the art world.
Any feedback on my teaser for my first music video? Anything helps me to improve for the final result! :) - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wk2_m79Y2h0
Anyone? :)
At what time of the day do you do your most work, /ic/?
I've noticed mornings are when I'm most alert.
Comic artist here. i wake up extra early, and try to work on a page at least for 30-40 minutes before going to work. When I come home, I do some errands, eat, shower, make a cup of coffe and work on my page some more before heading to beed. I usually work till 11pm, then head off to bed. Wake up at 6:30 and start all over again.
early in the morning when everyone is asleep

Don't be such a prick, the quality of this thread is miles ahead of some other shit I see bumped right now.
Drew this up today. Is the resemblance to Bigfoot obvious & clear enough?
Is it a total disaster and abomination?
If you have to ask, it probably is.
>XD
It definitely is.
I am so proud of this painting XD
It reminds me of willem de kooning
>>2784141
horridly derivative
this is an illustration of what you think de kooning's work looks like without any of the experience to back it up.
The other thread closed down so I took the initiative to start a new one,
Share your Instagram and your story if you want, I'll start:

So how does one build a following on instagram?
What are things you can do to maximise what you get out of it in terms of exposure / feedback.
I'm more of a digital artist. My gf's parents got me a Blick gift card for Christmas worth $60. What do you guys recommend I should get?
>>2788221
Nitram charcoal and a drawing pad so you can do some real drawings
Let's say I am one year into serious drawing. How can I get any money then?
By drawing pictures for people who will pay you for them
If you have to ask this you will never ever ever have to worry about it

What does it mean? If you would spend 1h making some basic research on /ic/ and /gd/, you'd see that there's a fuckton of different stuff people put into "seriously training drawing", "being good", "working as an artist".
Putting aside graphic design, there are people working as illustrators (subset: children's book), character/environmental/asset/industrial designers (all different things), people going freelance with traditional paintings, guys trying their luck with art galleries, animators etc. ad infinitum
All require different subset of skills, for example if you are industrial designer you would want really sound drafting skills and knowledge of perspective, while for concept art you'd like to know as much as possible about working fast, paintovers, photobashing, working with Photoshop etc.
Doing academic drawing impresses no-one these days. Making the bust in 3D program is something else, but again: there are riggers, people from textures...
I just love using a pen and drawing old architectural styles!
>>2786863
your perspective needs a lot of work but your penmanship is quite nice, keep at it and study Perspective Made Easy
I want to but how do you get started? It's so much information.
I prefer to use pencil, but yea architecture is awesome :)
Hey can someone draw the torso and another eye for this thank you very much

Go to /I/ and shoot yourself on the way there.
Some abstract art I made earlier this morning. I have nowhere else to put it, so here ya go.
>>2788090
No thanks, you can keep it.
>>2788090
>I have nowhere else to put it, so here ya go.
So you chose to "put it" in the place where it gets deleted after a few days.
Make a blog and put your shit there next time so I can ignore it more easily.
