What are you doing today, Anon? What are you working on?
I'm currently working on commissions and watching the Giants game. GO GIANTS!
I regret making this thread, I doomed the Giants...

Couldn't agree more OP.
Cancelled my Giants fanclub membership, sold my Tv, and threw away all of my merchendise.
Such a waste of time. And for what? It's completely unnecessary and serves no purpose.
Sport is not needed, especially in today's society where the intellect, personality, and face reigns supreme.
To be honest, the "healthy lifestyle" seems almost like a childish endeavour at this point, and I don't mean any disrespect, but it seems like the most serious athletes (asides from guys who are legit sportsmen but they represent a very low % of dedicated lifters) are also the people with nothing else going on in their lives.
I know this was true with me, I was biggest and most serious about football when I was still in college, working only 15 hours a week, and pretty much just plucking around all the time, going out, with no real life.
To all you kids out there who are getting sucked into the comerical sports , try to stop yourself.
So long as you have and maintain decent facial aesthetics, you'll be fine.
Sport is just not worth it.
Cheers.
Anyone here uses it? Would you recommend it?
Yes for lines. Save in converted psd file and color in Photoshop or SAI.

Do I have to get an art degree or an art school diploma of some sort to sell my paintings at a good price ?
I know theses diplomas are useless to learn art nowadays, but I feel like people will not spend a good amount of money on a painting if the painter don't have any classic art education, even if the painting is great in terms of fundamentals and appeal.
Do art degrees/art school diplomas gives you more credibility to the public ?
go to a couple galleries and have a chat with the chick behind the counter, she'd know what the public asks about the artist
>>2810017
The public can't name 2 art schools. Art directors can barely name 2 design schools.
>>2810017
As a freelancer, I can charge more when people sees my diploma. It's one of "those" fucking papers.
I. E: You can be a great driver. The best driver in the world. You could be driving since age 12 without any accident, you can give driving lessons to F1 racers, but without a driver's license, you aren't legally allowed to drive.
Same to any STEM career. Without a degree you can't work.
Tl:dr Degree = You can charge more. If people asks why you show them your degree.
Style copying has always been a taboo in this community but I hope people will answer
Lets say I DO want to adopt someones artstyle like pic related for example. can I one day obtain it by copying the animated short frame by frame? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YcchrgJgryo

This thread is meant for artists who might want to try to make anime works in-between their studies. It is strongly recommended that you use this thread in conjunction with learning the elements and fundamentals of art. You can also discuss the visual elements of various professional artists as well if you keep it relatively articulate and civil.
Submit your drawings, receive feedback or critique others! Share your knowledge and remember to thank those who've critiqued or red-lined your drawings. Most importantly, have fun!

I am in need of some understanding, I cant show my artwork here but I used some images from Google Images of pictures of lava and molten rock to form a ground texture of the piece and numerous other little edits using different textures and pictures to make a complete piece.
I sell my cover art to bands and make a big profit off of it, but I dont want to get in trouble. Surely the edits I made far exceed what the original image looked like. Even though that the ground has that "look" of the original photo.
Am I safe? Does it actually matter?
Btw im a photo manipulation artist, I take real life pictures and my own work and combine it to create a scene. Usually use unSplash, but there wasnt enough lavaesque materials
>>2810522
Artistically, it means you're trash, but no, besides people giving your post nasty looks on this site there's nothing to worry about. Photobashing itself is an accepted form of art, using a few images alone is no biggie, and more of a style choice to anyone on the outside.
Get better and make work that's more original, though, it's worth the time.

Take a look around you.
Chances are you're in a house.
Guess what someone designed your house. Someone designed your computer. Someone designed your clothes. You know that tablet? I'm sure there was a small team who designed the look of that.
ANYTHING that you see, touch, use has literally been someone elses design.
You know those cubicles that you're going to be stuck in for 40 years? Someone designed that too. Your favorite movie? A bunch of creative teams built that.
To say that art isn't important is to be completely ignorant to the world you exist within. Anything you interact with: the chair you sit in, the desktop UI, any game you can think of, product packages, clothes, shoes, cars, houses, weapons, utility items, utensils, your bed...Everything has been created by an artist.
Art is literally everywhere, and yet you choose to leave this world where your ideas are not only valued, but consumed by the public. Artists create trends, styles, and brands. While just developing pretty illustrations is totally fine, an artist can literally be the creator of anything. UX designers literally create experiences. It may not seem like art, but you are still creating the way someone interacts with something else.
I'm sorry you have to go, and you won't be missed. Sure artists arent going to cure cancer, nor are we going to mix chemicals together. But artists create experiences, and that alone is much more powerful in the long term.
Art is worth it, but it isn't for everyone. Peace man, go into business management or head towards med school. Art can be compared to these other professions because of the amount of training and influence it has on the world. Anything else and you'll be REALLY wasting your life.

I live so that I will become that good. Help me reach my dreams OP
Let's have a little thread about the artists on this board that have done some good work!
There are a lot of artists who have gotten pretty good and they deserve some praise! I will start!
Painting by Olly Lawson/Tehmeh
Painting by Catbib

Catbib posted painting a while ago! I don't remember how long though.

everyone on this site, why do you think all the decent artists left?
>>2809264
Same. I started doing it more since I got a small sketchbook that fits into my front pocket. It's messy and beat up but always having it with me ensues that I can always whip it out whenever a opportunity arises to draw.
I also like drawing ugly and uninteresting things because I get less attached to the end result. Mostly directly in ink with a gel pen.
>>2810378

Cheerios.
Because we should not have to make new threads or post in draw threads with our fundamental exercises.
Feel free to post even the smallest exercise you have done to show you are still trying, do not give up, make someone proud.
AVOID asking unrelated questions, there is a question thread for that.
RESIZE YOUR IMAGES TO ~1000 PIXELS:
#1)
>screenshot the image and post that instead (I recommend ShareX)
#2)
>change camera capture settings to something smaller
#3)
>send to computer and resize in MSPaint

>Thread study: Try to draw/paint the opening or any other following images.
Feel free to post your original works as well if you're trash.
TRY TO BE MORE ACTIVE AND GIVE PEOPLE SOME FEEDBACK - many studies are left unreplied, which is a bit sad and can be quite demotivating for the people that try their best to improve, but are left directionless.
