Not true, it has more to do with modernist ideology. It's not necessarily more expensive to build a house in a more classic style of architecture if modern methods are used.

Because of real life problems unrelated to art. When I'm drawing, even if it's bad, I still enjoy it. But depression makes it very hard to start. Most days I don't do anything. Browsing the internet and sharing my misery with others is much easier.

Flat color base
Multiply layer using airbrush for shading (use a sharp eraser for hard edges)
Additive layer using airbrush for highlights
1,000 hours of practice

Figure it out yourself, dont be lazy. Erase part of that drawing and try to recreate it youself.

How do I do these parts especially like soft cloth details and creased meaty parts? I always start by with sharp flat shadows on the lighter color base then move on to blurring them but it always ends up looking like the veins on a horsecock.
Is there a source for tuts I can learn this type of shading from?

Game Design(The actual position, not the meme version) requires me to speak both the language of artist and programmers, so partially my goal is to be able to communicate effectively with high end artist to deliver exactly whats needed. The other half is to be able to illustrate and breath life into a scifi horror universe I've been working on for over 5 years, and unfortunately I still have loads of practice to go through before I even allow myself to truly illustrate it..

I bought a benQ GWsomethingorother 27" IPS "gaming" monitor that has the panel from one of their photo editing monitors. Everything is now delightfully garish and I see contrast I didn't know existed.

Gamut and calibration matter for photo editing and print work, but otherwise you just want something properly calibrated and well rounded because most monitors are shit and it will look different on every screen you view it on.

Dell UltraSharp IPS

I had a TN LG LCD previously. Connected both as dual display once and was completely amazed at how different the colors looked on them, TN colors looked so washed out and shitty compared to the IPS screen.

I think you should consider it if you're doing color work, didn't know how astonishingly different they were before I saw them side to side. Plus the viewing angles on IPSs are much better. You can see the "true" colors from pretty much everywhere, unlike a regular TN display

TN vs IPS isn't even a question. You're not playing pro Counter Strike. There is absolutely 0 reason to use a shitty 6-bit panel with awful color reproduction, contrast and viewing angles. It's outdated technology and it shouldn't exist anymore.

Any half-decent display won't produce results out of the box that are that vastly different when viewed in another device. If your calibration is that off it's time to buy something that's not a complete turd.
