How much do you charge for your art? What is the optimum amount?
>>2815909
IIRC amateurs should charge 15-25 burger tickets hourly, graduates 20-40 and professionals can charge 50-150.
That's for freelance illustration. Obviously you charge different for animation, comic panels, graphic design, web design...

t. Deviantart fetish artist.
I give up on drawing thanks to my little brother. Any other forms of artistic expression that are more fun and less stressful than drawing?
I made a little progress in "drawing on the right side of the brain" But now I'm done.
>>2814391
Learn an instrument, like guitar. It's fun and a lot easier to pick up guitar than you think.
>>2814399
Seconding. The OP shouldn't give up as there's no easy medium, but music isn't too overwhelming.
>>2814391
Don't give up. Art takes a loooooooong time to master.
i know the line art is sloppy, i think it adds to it a bit

Post your current drawing here and provide helpful criticism and advice to others!
This is not a thread to discuss your autism, the rest of the board is for that.
Please make sure your posted image is clear, DOWNSIZED TO AROUND 1000 PIXELS WIDE, ROTATED TO THE CORRECT ORIENTATION, and that any unused space is cropped.
If you want critique on a drawing from the previous thread, you can delete it there and repost in this one and then kill yourself.

anatomy and edges are pretty triggering, it looks like you fucked them up on purpose
>>2812436
I'm experimenting with very soft edges; its alot of fun. With triggering anatomy do you refer to the broad shoulders, high ears and wierd neck? Could you elaborate.
>too dumb to get a bachelors degree
>have no industry contacts
>have no friends
>gud enough to get a job
why do you still try?
Because I want it more than anything else, I'd rather die if I couldn't do this to be honest.
>>2817682
it has no purpose. why do you keep believing?
>>2817685
It may not have purpose to you, but it does to me.
And I keep believing because I'm stupid.
I still give the world a chance because of "hope".
It's stupid, but completely true.
>流*Flow is defined as being "in the zone" when your system processes are overcome with data your mind cannot process to produce a pleasant feeling of losing oneself that ultimately allows one to move past/challenge their current plateau/comfort zone in one's work. Constantly producing flow is so addictive that has been deduced to be one of the key indicators of overall happiness, alongside a certain level of monetary and interpersonal relationship happiness.
To put it plainly, in the great tree of "gitting gud" these are those tiny moments when you are excited that you actually "getting better" if but in a tiny way or if only for a single drawing/moment.
I'm trying to get a better grasp of the idea so I can better explain it to both myself and others. So I am surveying you /ic/, what are your personal experiences with flow? Are there any drawings you feel comfortable posting in which you overcame a personal barrier and felt flow? Do you have any questions about Flow?**
Pic related is a combination of 流 and Flow
*Ryu or 流 literally means "Flow"
**that are not answered in https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flow_(psychology)
I've played video games and jerked off to porn since I was 11. After close to 2 decades of this, my brain's dopamine circuitry was so frazzled I couldn't focus on anything that I wanted to do aside from video games and jerking off. Art was entirely out of the question because I couldn't maintain a good workflow, I would get distracted within 5 minutes. Until I started smoking weed. Being high is the only time that I don't have the nagging cravings for vidya, and it's the only time that allowed me to focus on art for hours at a time.
I'm also slightly autistic though.

A very large portion of my work is abstract. I was told to stay away from here because I hear you guys favor technical abilities.
Am I one of the very few who believes a lot of abstract art done right can look really beautiful in exhibits and on walls, more so than traditional technical work.
I'd like /ic/'s opinion on my work.

Your work is shit. You are trying to copy more established artists without understanding what makes them interesting and where they came from. You have no knowledge regarding composition, line weight, or your tools. And you are symbol drawing like a motherfucker.
There is a reason they call it "fundamentals". That shit is necessary even if you do not aim to do hyperrealistic oil paintings.
Abstract art can look great. But your shit is shit. Read the sticky.
hey /ic/ first time poster , long time lurker. i was wondering if anyone has played some good games with this kinda artwork. this is from a game called "barcode" on nes. im trying to get into this kinda art style , thanks :)

Forgot the name of an artist similar to Giger, he mostly paints women and starts with a 3d rendering than paints in acrylics
can someone help me remember his name
i think german was his mother tongue, graphic design studies, late work mostly commissioned, artist name is even referring to g iger
A question to /ic/: What is the biggest finished physical piece you have done? Not necessarily sculpture of course, I'm just wondering about the walls you've painted or the gallery worthy paper you've drawn on. Y-you don't just do thumbnail sized doodles in a sketchbook, right?
>>2817304
I once painted a 15m2 room as a comic strip. Where each wall was one panel.
I've also done some projective work where the largest were ~5x7m.
>>2817304
6' x 5'for canvas, maybe 20-30 ft tall or wide for murals
I once did this, I built a frame for it too, it's the same size as an actual 1p bed
