As a cis straight white male, is it okay for me to draw yaoi and yuri?
>>2830377
As long as you're not a fat greasy neckbeard, drawing yuri is okay. I won't consider you as a straight male if you draw yaoi though.
>>2830406
>straight females who draw yuri
The very large majority of female population is bi by default. "Straight" females aren't fully heterosexual, they just prefer straight romantic relationship at the moment. Notice how I said romantic, they're still capable of being sexually aroused by other women.
I have a pretty clear idea of what I want to draw, but idk the name of the art style. Best I could find is "romanticism," but that's too broad for me to find tutorials and whatnot. Help?

>>2830037
here's a bigger picture
they seem to be gravures
I don't know if there are tutorials but you can find great examples like Albrecht Dürer's ones
Please help, all i have are these to photos. I know the guy is brazilian
Harambe.

FAQ:
Something's broken, what do I do?
>The original developer of the site has taken a leave for quite a while, originally due to medical reasons. Progress on the site is almost non-existant at this point. You can try contacting him at @LavaFlake or emailing him at [email protected].
What do we draw?
>Whatever you want. At this point there's no required topic so draw your heart out. Make sure you submit at least a half hour of work or you may get a low effort warning.
What's a low effort warning?
>The goal is to get people to draw every day by turning it into a competition. The low effort warning system is to prevent people from posting last minute, quick sketches when they're feeling lazy. If you receive a warning and it happens again within a month you'll be eliminated.
>This rule has been the cause of a lot of concern amongst newer artists so let me reiterate: this system is to police low effort content and has nothing to do with the quality of the work. New artists are more than welcome.
What happens if I'm eliminated?
>Your streak will go back to 0 and you will have to start again. No other penalties.
How can there be a new Last Artist Standing challenge every week?
>There is no week system anymore, instead new users are given "streaks" based on the number of consecutive days you can submit without getting eliminated. (token losses do not reset your streak)
Will I have an advantage if I join later in the week?
>The winner of a Last Artist Standing will be the artist with the longest streak. If you join on day 1 and last until day 85 then you'll have a streak of 85. If there's only one person left in the challenge when you're eliminated but they joined on Day 7 then they'll need to continue on for another week. If they're eliminated before then, you win.

Fuck you Lava

and this other pic
Load the usb with loomis and put it back.
Syd Mead is my favorite artist of all time. His sense of design and color is out of this world, not to mention his incredible command of perspective and rendering. And when he attempts to draw cartoons it look like the shitty scribblings of a edgy 13 year old. I guess Proko is in good company after all...
What the fuck? lol
Does this prove once and for all that hand drawn animation is the greatest art form?
The answer is of course, yes.

>>2828426
no one cares about your opinions, fuck off.
You're conflating artistic range with ability. Mead didn't get where he is by diluting his time and work with tangents, his narrow interests(or expression of them) worked in his favor. He perfected something specific and unique by focusing on it, the same way any cartoonist has done the same.
how does it feel knowing there are 15 year old on tumblr that are better at art han yoU?
>>2828304
but that's trash. did you post your own work or something?
>>2828304
>dat stiff pose
>dat obvious style lifting
>that edge
No matter how great a young artist is, i take solace in the fact that I am a grown ass adult who can do whatever i want whenever while this amazing child artist is stuck at their folk's house.
I don't care? I got into art so I can draw the things I want to draw the way at the quality I want to draw them, not so I can "be better" than other people.
>Keep forgetting how to put a cylinder in perspective
>Keep forgetting the rules
>Have to re-read perspective made easy like once a week
How do I over come this?
>>2829694
you might not be studying efficiently, so you keep forgetting it. Overall it's normal to revisit fundies and other things your entire life now and then, but you seem to struggle with learning new things. Make sure you repeat it daily, first with reference, then challenge your memory, over and over. If it's too boring and your brain shuts off, link it to something you enjoy.
How often do you apply it?
If regularly, do you regularly forget other shit? You might have more to worry about than art.
If not regularly, apply it regularly you retard, of course you'll forget shit you don't apply.
also the fact that you gotta be analyzing and thinking whenever you draw something + want to improve.
I realized I haven't been improving because I forget to think when I draw.
made a graff today in the program grafffiti studio 2.0 and i thought it was kinda good best ive done in the program, rate or tell what i can improve.!
change my mind this went better
I recommed you to just delete this thread. Your trying to do pieces, without even knowing how to do solid tags. Oh yeah and you decided to put a fucking crown on it, which you should never do.
Also for the traditional artists coming here to hate, just leave it. This kid is trash.
>>2828661
Not him but are there any good tutorials for graf?
Is this, dare i say it, art?
>>2829786
yes. it's a shitty type of art called "kitsch." now fuck off.
Yes, it is art, as art is a form of expressing one's self through a medium. I think the pictures are lovely and the pride these three gentlemen have is just awesome.
Whoops, forgot to change my name from when I started a thread a couple days ago. I am not the Original Poster and the reply above this one is me as well.
I really love the concept of drawing but I really hate the learning aspect of it. The love/hate relationship is strong here, anyone else feeling the same?
>>2829119
Yes, I loathe literally every single thing about learning to draw. No memeing. Drawing fucking sucks. I gave up video game development, writing, and film theory just to develop my skill in drawing, but it turned out to be utter shit. Absolutely every single person I have met IRL and on internet has shit taste in art. Jesus. No one praises Giotto, Vasari, Lippi, and Masaccio for the search for the ultimate truth they convey in their paintings anymore. In this modern age painting as a form of art is seen as either one of these things, the search of the self, mockery of the world, political propaganda, or just a showoff of skill. Nobody understands art. What a wretched form of art drawing is. I have lost all faith in painting. Stop now before it's too late.
>I'd love the prize but I hate the hard work needed to achieve it
Story of the world.
>>2829146
Drawing is like a crucifixion. First you need to drag your bleeding ass while carrying a log of wood to the top of the hill, then at the hill you'll be nailed and left alone to your death.
So, lately I've been having trouble with eye placement. Can someone help me figure out how to place eyes on 3/4 views, downward views, difficult head poses, etc.
>>2828763
actually looks completely fine to me, maybe besides the very left i think they could have more space between and just a bit lower
>>2828774
or im not sure actually, i think that face in general may be low on the head, sorry if i mislead
Let's talk values.Post a piece that you want to know whether or not it is of any value.
Pic Related. Can anyone tell me more about this framed 40x30 Patrick Nagel piece?
How much would YOU pay for something like this?
>>2824229
I'd pay the price of the frame I guess.
>>2824229
Its hard to say since i don't fall for the fine art scam but i would say 150-200$ for ambient look and if would be a little refined
>>2824229
Is it a print or an original? Really, it is worth however much someone is willing to pay for it. It you want to sell it or insure it, find an appraiser.
Anybody still doing sculpture or ceramics on here?
I tried to make a headphone stand but it turned out horrifying.
What have you been making?
You didn't go for horrifying with that thing?
>>2823816
I've got a head full of snakes and they move my hand as much as I do.
Is there a good video tutorial on making pottery with soil from the ground?
I kind of want to get into pottery and sculpting to maybe make some cool things to sell them to people.
I hate working a minimum wage retail/sales/food/service job. Is it possible to receive the equivalent of 11/hr just selling commissions? Or is it best to keep as a side hobby? Given my skills are on a scale of 1-10, a 7.5.
People get 100$ commissions but is it sustainable to a min wage level income?
Going to bump it down to a 6, actually, gonna try and be a little more realistic.
>>2829749
Would you mind posting your work OP so we can get an idea of your skills?
I'm not trying to be rude, the quality of your work is what grabs peoples attention.
>>2829749
The answer is yes, but you now spend time working as an artist instead of a clerk.
