Havent been in the painting mood in the traditional sense. So i bought a star wars model and painted that. Keep the juices flowing. This is after assembly with no paint.

We are an /ic/ based art Discord group running since March 2013 dedicated to the improvement of each member's artistic abilities through peer support, critiques, and friendly competition.
To stay in the group you need to post a minimum of one submission per week. Submission should be more than an hour of work(can be a bunch of sketches combined together in one file).
You don't post - you get kicked, but you can rejoin after two week cooldown.

If you will only lurk this isn't the group for you. We want people who participate in the community.

So i wasn't sure if i should make a new thread or what but fuck it.

Im taking an oil painting class and my teacher will usually have us cover the canvas in a thin coat of linseed oil before we start. I haven't had any problems with this method so far. But i notice in tutorials online they tell you to mix your medium/linseed oil into the paint before it hits the canvas. Are both methods correct? If i wanted to could i do the "cover the canvas" method with another medium of choice like liquin??

Also im kinda confused because i see some people use oil to thin the pain and i see others use turpenoids? Whats the deal with that?

im working on a new drawing and i realized that im not very good at seeing certain "shadow" colors
does anyone have references for hair in different light conditions? particularly blond hair? i tried searching it up but all i get is basic bitch hairstyle tutorials
