I just finished this drawing. It's not well shaded, but the line work is decent I think.
I'm wondering what you guys think. I'm trying really hard to reach professional levels,
So on a scale of Newbie to Amateur to Professional looking, what would you say?
(Let's say Newb is 0-4, Advanced but not pro is 5-7, and Pro is 8-10.)
And if you're an artist, can you tell me what I did wrong or how I could make this look better?
(It would be great if regular people/non artists answer too because an artist can tear anything apart, but the 'first reaction' of a non-artist is in some ways more valuable to gauge where you're really at.)
Definitely really good. What kind of work do you want to do in the future? (Animation, just drawing whatever, etc.?)

Professional is a buzzword. Pic related is "professional" if by that you mean published and paid for.

Note: I tried this post earlier but I made the mistake of using an unfinished sketch, so a lot of people rating me down because it wasn't a complete work. This is a complete panel, with full color so maybe that issue won't come up.)
Having said that, I did get some great critiques on my sketch that I put up, so I don't regret it.

Very good rendering/shading, but other than that your fundamentals aren't any less or better than the OP's.
Both show decent perspective, etc. all the stuff I mentioned.
I think you just wanted to feel like you're better than someone else. And to be honest, the OP had better composition, their stuff pointed to a focal point, yours is just a stand up in the center of the frame.
Maybe you just don't care for cartoons.

I made a redline, hope it help.

the sample pose he sent me is super rigid and hes trying to get to get more like it but i dont wanna
he wants back and side boob, with face, ass out with big mallet. legs down and spread
i really wanted to inculde the gun but he shot it down
what's a good guide for formally measuring in 3-point perspective?
i want to know if there's any video lecture-type material where someone's going through the steps of setting up 3-point grids and using that compositionally.
something similar to erik olson's material on 1 and 2-point. it seems like he'll be putting out 3-point lectures eventually, but not for a while.
i read through most of handprint's guides, and while they were informative, the measurements of distance using trigonometry and all the other dense information give me a headache.

i dont know who usually makes these but i dont care
there are too many "r8 my art XD" threads
post here please
Post your current drawing here and provide helpful criticism and advice to others!
This is not a thread to discuss your autism, the rest of the board is for that.
Please make sure your posted image is clear, DOWNSIZED TO AROUND 1000 PIXELS WIDE, ROTATED TO THE CORRECT ORIENTATION, and that any unused space is cropped.
If you want critique on a drawing from the previous thread, you can delete it there and repost in this one and then kill yourself.

Posted the old version in the last thread, I added some more stuff and did the lineart, still have to add the camp stuff and fix some things with the sword.

How do you come up with your palettes?

Mad skillz caligrafy + some prisma filters. Any hard critique?
No.
Yeah generally the subject... sorry I didn't find the "critic my art" thread of the day... Or I'm just an idiot I don't know (I mean I know I'm an idiot but I also didn't find the thread).
I posted here two years ago and you guys helped me a lot. So... I thought... let's get destroyed again to build myself up again. (I saved screenshots of your comments and every time I felt too pleased with my art I read them to get back to the learning table.)
I basically went from this http://img04.deviantart.net/61ce/i/2013/313/e/6/knives_of_dunwall_1_3_by_dalsifodyas-d6jkaty.png to this -> http://img01.deviantart.net/ca11/i/2016/032/5/1/knives_of_dunwall_97_99_by_dalsifodyas-d9q7f16.png in .... 2 1/2 years... and now I'm trying to draw Star Wars comics in a bit more straight style... but it all ... feels so bland and lifeless... and I'm just stuck. Every time I start a new part I'm like "this time... THIS TIME I will do better!" But I don't do any better and it's fucking frustrating.
This is a page I'm kinda proud of - but it still feels... lifeless...
http://img02.deviantart.net/2ce1/i/2017/002/8/6/star_wars___first_order_tales___the_invasion_15_by_dalsifodyas-datzur7.png
So yeah... please help me.
To further cement my idiocy I didn't manage to make the links clickable... I'm sorry.
1. Self deprecating won't help with your art. So drop it.
2. The links are clickable, but you need to activate the options on the site settings.
That being said, I say that your stuff isn't too bad for an amateur, but you lack the fundamentals. Check the sticky and post your studies on the beginners general thread.
On a more specific critique, I say that your lineart doesn't goes well with coloring like that, and that your coloring looks flat because you still need to grasp on how to use values, and that part is covered on the sticky (or /beg/ OP's links).
You have zero flow from panel to panel. You don't lead the viewers eye at all.
I'm opening my commissions. How much should I charge?
Pic related is the stuff I do

any advice you can give me for constructing the head at a low angle?
it is extremely difficult for me to understand this with the cheek bones overlapping and the shape of the socket etc.
if you have any good reference pics with readable forms it would also be much apreciated
Try looking at a skull you shmuck

Same struggle here
Look I suck at drawing but as I can see there are so many people on this board who don't I was wondering if anyone could draw my OC for my account please
This isn't the board for requests, but the board for critiques and discussion.
You could learn to draw if you want. But if your interest is only about getting a drawing done, read over to the request board >>>/wsr/
Nevermind the drawing bit. This character design (or lack of it) is making me livid
I like to break the confines of traditional artistic dogma, but I'm wondering how come nobody can appreciate the context of a piece instead of how good it is? My work is continuously treated so unfairly even though it's just as valid as anyone else's work. What people don't get about my work is that I do it for me, and since it's good from my perspective, they're stupid not to appreciate it. By their own folly, they're missing out on the world I've created with my own hands.
>>2850476
That's /ic/ for you, but also you have to take into consideration some reason why your work doesn't look good. Now judging from from you've posted of a drawing on a paper towel, I think it looks like crap. You don't take into consideration the material you are working on, and it makes it look lazy.
I as well stylize my work, and hope to be a fine artist one day, but what you've demonstrated shows laziness in the eyes of everyone. And that resonates not only from material, but also twists the meaning of your line.
I definitely think, as a fine artist one has to have a base level of understanding fundamental or your art looks like shit, period. You can't draw a face as a circle and expect people to want to derive deeper meaning, because they can't pull anything from a circular face, and also circular faces are associated with juvenile w-...
