i dont get it when people say the perspective is wrong.
Like if the anatomy of a figure is wrong, i get that. Im not that good at it, but i understand what someone means when the anatomy of my drawings is wrong.

But if you said the perspective is off, what do you mean? What makes something off perspective?

That your image doesn't work in perspective?
Parallel lines don't go to the same vanishing point in a mistakeful drawing for example.
>>
>>2891521
This. Linear perspective is pretty much math. There is a right and wrong way that things look in space.
>>

>>2891526
im not getting it
WHY isnt it right? and what makes it right?
i tried reading perspective made easy and that didnt help.

Because we should not have to make new threads or post in draw threads with our fundamental exercises.
Feel free to post even the smallest exercise you have done to show you are still trying, do not give up, make someone proud.

AVOID asking unrelated questions, there is a question thread for that.

RESIZE YOUR IMAGES TO ~1000 PIXELS:

#1)
>screenshot the image and post that instead (I recommend ShareX)

#2)
>change camera capture settings to something smaller

#3)
>send to computer and resize in MSPaint

There's a new (and cleaner) sticky in town! You can see it at:

TRY TO BE MORE ACTIVE AND GIVE PEOPLE SOME FEEDBACK - many studies are left unreplied, which is a bit sad and can be quite demotivating for the people that try their best to improve, but are left directionless.

Honestly I see a huge amount of potential here. Like I'm not sure how intentional all the wonky shapes and proportions are, but it's very pleasing to look at. If it is intentional stylization--good job! If it is accidental, then be careful to not train it out of you since I think you naturally have a pleasing way of drawing.

That said, I think some areas are a little bit sloppy and the values are getting a bit muddy. I tried sort of working on top of it a bit, but to be honest this sort of style is not my strongest point. I suggest looking at stuff like Francis Vallejo's life drawings where he has insane values and appeal to his drawings, but also stylizes it in a similar way that I feel you are. Rick Berry might be another good artist for you to take a good look at.
>>
>>2890076
Oh, another artist to check out would be Kent Williams. His life drawings also have a similar feel to what I think you might want to aim towards.

It's crude but If I was horny enough I could probably rub one out to the naked lady. I guess that counts for something?

After many sleepless nights, i've come to the realization.. That this site is utter garbage.
If you stay, or adopt the /ic/ mentality I can assure you, you're not gonna make it.
I myself am leaving, hopefully for good, and i wish some of you others will as well.

You ever get the feeling that you're not getting enough criticism for your work despite how obviously shit it is? Every time I show my drawings to my friends and family, they usually say "Hey that's pretty good." When I ask "how can I do better," they disregard it as me using too much self-deprecation. This is one reason why I don't draw as much as I would like to. Why even bother when everything I do gets praised by everybody I know and have no reason to improve?

Why are you asking them...? Your friends and family who don't know how to draw don't know shit. I don't know how you didn't come to this conclusion on your own.

If you want actual feedback then post your godawful symbol drawings either here or some other hugbox if you don't want your feefees hurt.

Do commissions. You get gratitude and get paid as well as get better.
>>
Keep going, faggot.
Every artist has sucked shit at the beginning, the only difference between losers and winners is winners don't get discouraged by beginner mistakes.
>>
Just have more realistic expectations. It takes a few years of consistent and deliberate practice before you will have some level of competence. You shouldn't expect to be making amazing artworks in a matter of weeks or months.

If I don't draw consistently for a long time, my construction understanding seemingly deteriorates. I usually read Hampton for a little bit, but does anyone have any good references or tuts for overall construction... or faces in general?

I'm sure I'll get back to spend just grinding out skulls and shit for awhile, but in the mean time.

Study from multiple different people and combine whatever methods work best for you. Study Loomis but also watch Vilppu and Steve Huston's NMA videos on head construction, and whoever else you like.
The most important thing is that you practice it. Draw a fuckton of heads from imagination, do a bunch of boxes in perspective and carve the head shapes / place the features in them. Don't just read a bunch of shit, try to have fun with your exercises.

Ok so here's how this works, take a painting you like, that is the basic style of your movement, then go to
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Random
which will be the social context, ideological basis etc of your movement

(multiple rolls are allowed cause some results are so boring its like what)
you can also use the following format if you aren't feeling creative:

>___NAME____ is characterized by its emphasis on _____ and _____ as well as glorification of _______.
It was partly a reaction to ________ and had a significant and complex effect on _______.
Critics say ___NAME____ may be lacking in ________, but lovers of the movement point to its ________ as the main reason for its longevity.

heres mine:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_WWE_Intercontinental_Champions x pic related

WWEmpressionism is characterized by its emphasis on huge muscles and dainitful brush techniques as well as glorification of RAWNESS.
It was partly a reaction to a lack of wrestler based artworks and had a significant and complex effect on nobody.
Critics say WWEmpressionism may be lacking in substance, but lovers of the movement point to its FLOAT LIKE A BUTTERFLY STING LIKE A BEE as the main reason for its longevity.

Şereflikoçhisarrism

Şereflikoçhisarrism was a movement founded by Structuralists in the late 21st century. Mainly architects: Şereflikoçhisarrists designed houses in the town of Şereflikoçhisar, in Turkey in their innate form, but then recognized some of the thematic components of the environments transcended architectural cohesion. They are heavily influenced by calculus; Şereflikoçhisarists work by inventing unique functions to determine saturation of hues in each piece. Early tools used in the Şereflikoçhisarist Art included mspaint colour-pickers, pastels and acrylics. Subjects were taken from life and then restlessly examined to make sure no two colours were the same.

Sinuous hills and pastoral, overcast skies are the most approachable element of their work. Savoury tangerine colors and carnations are usually abstracted to "invert the cognizance of Turkey", in the words of one leading painter in this understanding.

Typical environmental elements in their paintings are Structural and almost categorically contains an element that can be recognized as circular, i.e a band that stretches across the whole stretched canvas.

Ideologically: most Şereflikoçhisarians embrace a pseudo-Projectivist and Instrumentalist metaphysical viewpoint, which the few admiring conossieurs of the genre have used to reconcile the commonplace montony and stability of the landscapes

(The article I got was Şereflikoçhisa; pic related is David Fox please don't sue)
