Why are wacom tablets so expensive compared to other brands? Are they actually that much better? Would it be more worth to buy this than another screen tablet for half the price/bigger?
>>2917235
because they have the monopoly on the market. They can charge whatever they want.
>>2917243
son i dont think you understand what a monopoly is

Anyone know any good tutorials for watercolour? I'm just starting out but I'm pretty lost. (pic is not mine)
If you speak spanish Parramon's book on atercolors helped me a lot
>>2916981
There are some good blogs that deal with watercolors:
There's a lot of bad watercolor painters out there. I would stay away from random youtube tutorials, unless if it's by the people in the blogs I mentioned.

Why are Westaboo's art skills praiseworthy compared to Weeaboos when it comes to coloring, character design, and appeal?
>>2916392
That's an easy one.
Western Art is simple usually follows basic anatomy or none at all.
>>2916397
Alright, I guess that makes sense. But, does the industry reward laziness or something? Almost every cartoon character does pic related. What the hell.
>>2916397
That's true, but so does anime/ manga. In fact, anime has a stronger grasp on anotmy and fundemtals than western animtion does.

>be an artist selling at New York Comic Con artist alley last year
>first time selling at a convention ever
>getting all the supplies and transporting everything was a pain in the ass but I lived in the area so it wasn't too bad
>a lot of the professional artists around me come from across the country and even from overseas
>the people sitting to the left and right of me were from England and California
Doing one convention locally took a lot of time, effort and money. How do artists attend all these shows around the country, like from San Diego Comic Con to Emerald City to Chicago, to New York, etc? Doesn't it get pricey having to transport all your supplies by plane? How do these guys do it?
I'm interested in how it's all done if I ever want to be considered professional someday. I would love to exhibit at SDCC but since I don't have that much of a following, I'm not sure if it would be worth the money.
>>2917162
How did it go? I heard it costs 500 dollars a table. Were you selling fanart prints or original work?
I'd like to have a table there but only if I finish a graphic novel or something.
>>2917251
bump cause i wanna know this shit too
Do you think the Mona Lisa is overrated? why?
>>2916859
It's shit
>>2916859
Well it's mostly famous for reasons other than the painting itself such as the history behind it and the fact it was stolen and so on. It's been argued by some people that really at this point it is closer to pop art than anything else since the view of it is quite different today than in the past and for other similar paintings.

I'm not going to make it. Actual years later, why do I even try? I'm a soulless autistic born again virgin circumcised cripple dick striving imposter nerd faggot low test myopic numale omega retard cunt with no chance in hell of making anything worthwhile in this lifetime.
How do you give a two-dimensional image 'character' when you don't have any character yourself? You can't.
How do you stop getting dragged into frivolities either by your friends or through your own dumb ass volition? You won't.
How do you go on living knowing that you're too much of an effeminate mental midget to exhibit even the most rudimentary improvement in anything, let alone something you feel so much admiration and aspiration for? You don't.
I'm old as shit and I draw worse than kids a third my age. It's not just the manual "act" of drawing I fail at either. If it's not a formless flat and featureless "figure" of indeterminate gender and bad anatomy holding its deformed mitten hands at its sides from a given angle it's got WAY too much personality and life for my machine-like sociopathic dullard dad bod gyno tits downs syndrome brain to handle and I hate that most of all. It's over, boys. See you on the other side.

Waste less time thinking about how everything is shit and try just doing stuff instead. Starving third worlder here, tried and tested method, trust me.
>>2916688
You start by shutting the hell up and doing it anyway. Push through the pain, the process itself will make you a man. You're not a set person from the day you're born, your genes might control a great deal but we all have the capacity for destruction, and realizing that will make you respect yourself, and when you do, others will.
Want the harsh truth, little bitch? JUST, FUCKING, DO, IT. Don't think, DO. NO TALK, JUST DO. STOP SMILING LIKE A RETARD, AND GO. DO IT.

How viable is it nowadays to turn illustration (and maybe concept art) into a freelance career? Or is there any place where such things can be seriously discussed? I know /ic/ tends to view things pretty bleakly but I really need a realistic and educated answer on this, I'm at a crossroads in life and really need insight.
Pic related - my skill level.
>>2919743
We live in the greatest era for art ever.
>>2919743
If you are actually able to paint at that level then you should be able to make some money off art. I'm guessing you're not Derek since I remember he has been around a while and working, and I doubt he would come here to ask such a basic question. You might not make enough to live off of, but at least some small and mid level freelance for sure. If you get lucky and get some regular clients you can live off it probably.

How much money per year would that roughly be, in your opinion?
How to draw thick/chubby/fat girls?
might be of use

>draw thick girls
Wow, marketing at it's finest.
Those chicks aren't thicc, they're fatt.
Beside, why would you want to draw them, they look disgusting irl
>>2918194
The tutorial isn't bad, but since when do we call morbidly obese people 'thicc' ?
