Crosshatching is shit and looks shit.
When it looks good it looks good like any style
>>2939539
Have you tried not being shit at drawing? It seems to solve a vast majority of art related problems.
Hatching is a god-tier technique, as it can both suggest tone and reinforce your volumes with thousands of cross-contour lines.

You're shit and look like shit.
why does this image get memed on so much
Because having a structure this rigid doesn't work for everyone. There is no secret single magic learning path. Too many beginners are looking for the one weird trick instead of learning to love to draw and love the process. Learning is about experimentation.
Also the title is made to lure in beginners in a sense that if they don't "improve fast," they'll think they're a failure and give it up forever. But if they had that attitude they probably wouldn't have made it anyway. It's almost in the same vein as that Nsio infographic but at least he's a somewhat good teacher in other areas.
Those are all really good books. But to view them in this perspective is pretty dumb move.

Oh, sorry... My bad.
Hey guys, it's nosebro. You guys probably heard of my name here. Anyway, I just wanna let you guys know that recently a lot of people have been pretending to be me. In the future, I'll be posting new art alongside every post I make for proof. So if I've garnered any haters from these fakebros, I give my apologizes.
Now on to the next topic. You know i've been thinking about what I wanted to do art wise. For the past couple of years, I've been mostly shitposting and not taking art seriously. But recently, I decided that I want to make a career out of this. I'm gonna get serious about rendering and coloring instead of making shitty sketches all the time.
I've taken a lot of inspiration from the likes of Firez who despite being in the most shitty predicament possible, has continuously made enormous improvements.
TLDR: Ignore the fake bros, and i'm gonna take art seriously
Not gonna make it.

itt post body horror art
I don't have much, but I'll dump what I can.
>>2929079
Are there ways to boost ny memory capabilities?
No. Your ability to memorize and retain visual information is the biggest factor when it comes to whether or not you'll "make it". I mean think about it, if you keep forgetting shit then how the hell would you make progress? I mean you can but it'll be a very very slow road. Unless you're pursuing art as a hobby I strongly suggest you reconsider your career aspirations. You might want to choose a career that doesn't tax greatly on your shitty memory.
>>2939317
Is there such a career?
you shouldn't be worried about "boosting your memory capabilities" you should just go draw. study hard, if you hate it and you can't make improvements than drop art.
Anyone ever used one of these? I wanna 3D print one but I need to know how they function before i can model it.
>>2936872
Pen nibs? I use them occasionally, but I prefer technical pens just because they're more convenient. I don't know if a 3D printed nib would work very well, since it's the flexibility of the metal nib that lets you draw with varying line weights. They aren't that pricey either, a 10 pack of G pen nibs only costs around $15, is there any reason you want to 3D print them instead of just buy them?
>>2936874
It's an assignment for a class, I'll give her a shot anyhow. Thanks
>>2936872
Dip pen nibs are make of springy metal. See that oval hole on the top? It collects and holds a droplet of ink due to the adhesion properties from the surface tension of water molecules. There is a slit running from that ink-droplet reservoir hole. When the tip of the pen nib runs across paper, the slit flexes open a little and through capillary action runs down it onto the paper.
Realistically, can one make a living in the US making comics/japanese inspired comics through patreon as the only source of income?
You and me both know it's possible, anon, but you first need to put in the work. It's not like you couldn't just do comics outside of patreon either.
Emigrate to somewhere cheap and you can live like a king from little patreon money.
>>2934486
You can make money doing anything if you learn/know what it takes to sell it.
Whether you can live off of it is up to you and your life style choices.

No talent all hard work
>>2938945
Hard work is a meme. If you have any ounce of talent, you shouldn't need to work "hard" to make it. Most talented artists draw casually for a few years before reaching industry level. e.g., sinix, vetyr, hotaruarc
>>2938950
>vetyr
>industry level
You need not know physics, language or theoretical knowledge. Only the visual mind will be useful. Artists will understand the picture. It is enough for using the visual mind for finding a way to express the desired information.
