This picture always freaked me out. It's a self portrait drawn by a schizophrenic. I have acute schizophrenia, and sometimes I get paranoid that life is all just a simulation so that's part of the reason, but it's just unsettling to me in general too.

It's impossible to really give you advice besides "read the sticky, start learning fundamentals" because the only way to improve this would be to start it over completely. Every part of it is bad.

Learn how to break this down into simpler shapes and learn some anatomy (or at least look at your own hands jeez those hands).

Also, don't make your own thread for your art. There are generals for that

Graphic design skills actually help with drawing. As name suggests, you are focusing on good practices and being anal about most minor shit like curvature of some letter - just kidding (not really) - graphic design puts emphasis on important stuff that beginner painters/artist rarely think about like good communication with audience, delivering clear message etc.

It helps you as a artist, but you need to learn very different stuff than what /ic/ preaches - which can be only good.
