I need your experience. Is it worth selling your own acrylic painting on canvas these days?
>>2948791
retarded question.
if someone buys it, its obviously worth selling it
WHERE IS IT KILL ME
Nobody's made a new one yet rip
Why do artists look down on beginners that get good tools and supplies?
I never understood why it's a good idea to purposely hinder yourself if you can afford the right things for the job.
>>2948146
I don't think people have a problem with beginners investing and researching and being interested, but often beginners tend to focus on that instead of, you know, using the materials or actually learning how to use them. Knowing exactly what brand of pencil Wes Burt is using, or what pen James Jean is using, will not make you draw at their level.
Also if you are a total beginner chances are you won't even be able to tell the difference between decent materials and top of the line materials. In the early stages mileage is more important than anything and it's almost a waste to use high end material when you will be pushing out crap for a few years.
Adding to what the anon above said, most beginners quit after a few short months. Spending hundreds of dollars on a tablet for example just ends up being a huge waste.

The foreshortened forms you see on that gif are not absolute, form is relative to perspective and the same fundamental rules applies regardless from any deviation away from life (in this case stylization) unless you are purposely trying to portray an incorrect application towards perspective you do not understand basic rules of perception.
Kill yourself.
I hear he is making an artbook. Is this true? I remember seeing a post on FB where he uploaded some giant smashing a tower and the description was something simple along the lines of "For book".
>>2944286
Yes. It will be an amazing Bourgereau copypasta. Pre-order kudasai.
>>2945795
Are you trying to be funny?
>>2944286
Yes he is planning on making an art book and also selling high quality prints of his images. I don't know when it will be ready, but I know he is working on it.

People often say the masters of this age haven't even got an ounce of the mastery the old masters attained. Why is that? What holds us back?
>>2946931
KJG> ALL THOSE UGLY ASS KEK EUROTRASH MASTERS
Get the fuck outta here.
>>2946931
People always like to pretend the old is better than the new. Objectively speaking, the old masters were worse than the 19th century masters and the current modern masters are about equal to the 19th century masters in technical skill, maybe slightly worse purely because representational art in general is no longer very popular.

Less time. Rich people of the olden days didn't have the internet, work load, etc of today's world. That's why rich children could become prodigies and old rich men could become extremely talented in multiple areas. Not to mention these poor fuckers knew that if they ever faultered talent wise they would end up having to do hard labor and live in literal shitholes.
Hello anons, I need your quick objective opinion. I'm looking at this far too long - is this any good? Is it good enough as a gift for an art laywoman who just likes her ego tickled?
>>2948251
Can't really say without looking at what she actually looks like but it looks pretty good. Maybe indicate some hair instead of leaving it all completely black but I don't think an art laymen would really care. More than enough for a gift to someone imo. I'm sure they'll love it.
>>2948255
Thanks for your opinion mate
I wouldn't dare post her pics on the internet, if she's similar to herself is not the case really, I just wanted to know if it's alright technically speaking.
You might be right about the hair, but since she's really jet-black I think leaving it like that wouldn't spoil anything.
Anyway thanks again, I'm a little more comfortable presenting it to her.
>>2948251
>an art laywoman who just likes her ego tickled?
>that picture
Are you giving this as a gift to Bjork?
Do you make a quick 5 minute drawings before your actual drawing?

He literally isn't literally advocating using orthographic planes like an architectural draftsman is he?
This is how I reverse-engineer Bugatti Veyron in Catia V5.
t. mechanical engineer that doesn't like Loomis
I'm making a game where superpowered stick figures fight each other.(that's a screenshot) I'm just working on mechanics, but I have realized that I can't spend much time on art. So I have decided to have no backgrounds. Right now, the game has an empty feel, which puts focus on the fighters. So /ic/, please recommend artists whose style is very simplistic so I can draw inspiration from them.
Preferably indie videogame artists
>>2947885
You missed epic Newgrounds stick fighting games by like, over a decade dude
Hello, guys.
I decide to mock up with my friends. I'm pretending that I just made a new tattoo.
I has made it on Photoshop and wanna know of you if that is pretty convincing or looks like a fake one.
Please, leave your oppinion
Just put some shades. Is that more, or less convincing?
>>2947814
With shading it looks less convincing - too bright.
Maybe a bit red
