I want to draw comics, and ink them. But i'm completely new to comics, i dont even know the right tools. I have 60 dollars, what are some good tools you'd advice for drawing comics? thank you a lot

Do you feel that that's a fair characterization of artists who are exploring controversial subject matter? That's a pretty sweeping statement.

I think that may be an oversimplification of their intentions and goals as artists.

Most artists draw terrible feet, unfortunately. You included. Draw the toes better, make the feet more expressive. Use the feet to tell a story.

Since you're here anyway i'll give my critique

The use of color is nice and you wrapped the wire in an aesthetically pleasing way. I think the shard-like crystals combined with the smaller pieces AND the center stone however is off balance in a way. Either all shards with the big piece, or shards and small ones without the big piece, or small pieces with the center piece.

You might get away with all three if you patterened it out a bit better.

That said that's just my opinion as someone who likes homemade jewelry and is very particular. As for actual craftsmanship I can't say because I only know how to make very simple hemp jewelry (tying knots and picking out the beads an crystals to use) so I can't tell you if your techniques are shitty or not.

Good luck anon it has promise and someone else might like the design just fine. I'm picky.

Others' depictions don't portray the human experience of the culture, but through the lens of their own culture, usually saying more about the artists' own culture and experience than the culture it's trying to depict. It's like that white woman in America who "turned black" after reading about African tribes in the national geographic.

Depicting the the way you see another culture through your lens is still a human experience in itself one that (with your logic) people from the original culture wont be able to depict because they have never experienced it in such a way

For something as generic as op pic, just start with a realtively human looking head (or any piece of the body) and exagerate or add interesting shapes, a big visual library and some taste will do the trick.
