Are there any famous top-tier artist who don't have the ligameme? KJG has it (pic below), so does Vilppu, Proko, Scott Robertson, etc. I honestly can't think of any high level professionals who don't have it.
For those of you who have made it, please post your wrists. Note that the ligameme is two (or even three) ligaments, not just one. If you have only one in your drawing wrist, you don't have the ligameme.

Can you recommend me some interesting watercolor artists? Who are your favorites?
charles reid
>>2946773
Peter Scheeler on youtube, he makes videos of himself making sweet watercolour paintings.
I'm very bad with names thought, something that jumps to mind is the watercolor work of John Reinhard Weguelin.
Tatsuyuki Tanaka and Masaaki Yuasa are my favorites
Speaking of would anyone know what type or brand these Japanese artists use?
Procrastination, and just in general playing games or watching tv shows is getting pretty distracting. I can't seem to pick up the pencil these days. Any tips to get back into it

Finding the will power and inspiration is your responsibility. And eking it out will depend upon a number of personal factors from your brain chemistry to your own world view.
These pepe help me find inspiration posts are getting old. Part of getting good is meta cognition.

This is opus magnum about drawing human, or i should look for something different?
Yes but it's not for beginners. It assumes you know the basics of how to draw shit.

If you want to sculpt Art Deco sculptures, read Loomis because he's already abstracting planes when he teaches. Learning to draw from stylized pictures is just backwards. Angles = stylization.
>>2953881
I tried it, but it was too condensed and felt more geared to those who just needed reference. So I'm looking at other books right now that might be a bit more clear on how to draw.

FAQ:
Something's broken, what do I do?
>The original developer of the site has taken a leave for quite a while, originally due to medical reasons. Progress on the site is almost non-existant at this point. You can try contacting him at @LavaFlake or emailing him at [email protected].
What do we draw?
>Whatever you want. At this point there's no required topic so draw your heart out. Make sure you submit at least a half hour of work or you may get a low effort warning.
What's a low effort warning?
>The goal is to get people to draw every day by turning it into a competition. The low effort warning system is to prevent people from posting last minute, quick sketches when they're feeling lazy. If you receive a warning and it happens again within a month you'll be eliminated.
>This rule has been the cause of a lot of concern amongst newer artists so let me reiterate: this system is to police low effort content and has nothing to do with the quality of the work. New artists are more than welcome.
What happens if I'm eliminated?
>Your streak will go back to 0 and you will have to start again. No other penalties.
How can there be a new Last Artist Standing challenge every week?
>There is no week system anymore, instead new users are given "streaks" based on the number of consecutive days you can submit without getting eliminated. (token losses do not reset your streak)
Will I have an advantage if I join later in the week?
>The winner of a Last Artist Standing will be the artist with the longest streak. If you join on day 1 and last until day 85 then you'll have a streak of 85. If there's only one person left in the challenge when you're eliminated but they joined on Day 7 then they'll need to continue on for another week. If they're eliminated before then, you win.

My name is Daniel. I've been practicing my fundamentals for quite a while now and I was thinking of making a drawing channel on YouTube teaching the basics of drawing and painting. I'm also thinking of making a premium course for people who are very serious and want 1 on 1 mentorship.
Anyway, my question is, would any of you guys be interested in learning from me if I did that? I think i have a pretty good understanding of fundamentals from perspective to values to colors and comp.
Just do it.
If you never try you can lose something in the future

Hi, I've had my fill with the whole teaching thing, it was great and had lots of fun just speaking. let me tell you some things.
For starters, nobody here on /ic/ would take your lessons, because we can all see you're an amateur. But outside of this little corner of a board on the interweb there is a market for your skill.
Why?
Because if you teach to beginner, beginners will be your audience. That's great. Or is it? Deep down in your subconscious you'll feel like a dick for sabotaging beginners who want to get better and have that glint in their eye knowing you yourself aren't that good.
If you don't care about that, great, go ahead and teach. But the thing is a lot of these people who do this stay in this box where all they do is end up teaching and never improving on their own skill. They become conmen, basically.
You don't have an understanding of your fundamentals. You will have a massive ego in teaching that you begin to make advanced tuts and when an advanced artist comes around they will put you in your place. So I'm going to put you in your place here; don't if you know what's good for you. Do when you actually get better.
>>2951402
You should probably keep grinding those fundies, especially lighting and values.
Coasting off of >>2951416 you don't really have much to offer other than to a complete beginner and even then only so much. Honestly unless you've got some sort of fucked ego teaching for a while might be good for you because it will harshly demonstrate what you lack.
Anyone have artist-specific tips for livestreaming?
>What's your channel name?
>What site do you use
>What site do you prefer if multiple?
>Kind of art do you do on stream?
>Average amount of viewers?
I only just started just mostly to keep me focused on actually drawing since i'll goof off if i'm drawing alone I've found and I need to buckle down and take it more seriously.
General livestreaming thread?
Bonus question:
>Pick related is something I did for an art project for school that I didn't enjoy. Opinions? This is not indicative of my normal work i draw pinup girls mostly.
Basically I don't know if it's worth saving or if i should just delete it. I have an artifact free version. It was suppose to be cool but i ended up losing a lot of input on my ideas for the project and half-assed it instead out of frustration.
tldr version:
>I drew this. Keep it or delete it?
>What site do you use
Picarto, Twitch and Youtube.
>What site do you prefer if multiple?
I've used Picarto the most as it's a dedicated art streaming service but would like to give Twitch a go once more. With Picarto I feel it's a bit more chilled out as I don't have as many random people showing up.
>Kind of art do you do on stream?
Personal Work, Commissions, Live request streams (have had some weird people hanging around in chat when I do those.)
>Average amount of viewers?
At the moment it ranges from up to 20 or so.
For me at least, more people means more stress/ less enjoyable as it's important to interact with your viewers/audience if you want to maintain interest. Trying to get my work done and hold 10 conversations at a time while answering questions can be hard. Some people can be extremely demanding which gets exhausting fast.
If you're looking for things to talk about with your audience, some of which might be audiences themselves, ask about them and their projects.
I like streaming because it forces me to get things done ( I can't just stop and stare at a wall for hours because there are people watching.)
You don't need a facecam (unless you're ridiculously good looking.)
You also don't always need to have voice chat on, a lot of the time I just play music from my stream playlist or an OST and talk with people in chat instead.
>>2955700
I should add that chances are unless you already have an established follower base, your first few streams might not have many (or any) people in attendance. This is fine. Keep working, be courteous and responsive to the people that DO show up. Keep showing your work on DeviantArt (or your preferred platform for sharing your work) and link your Stream in a Journal/Deviation whenever you're streaming so your followers know when to come. Good luck!

Thanks anon :) I did a test run on twitch yesterday to see if my computer could handle it and stuff and it did well (got 17 random views with 2 people sticking around until I was done. Helped I was drawing sexy girls probably). I just need to figure out how to get my music to play.
I've never used picarto but i've watched others stream on it. Does it work like twitch where you can tag things to get random people or do you have to pimp yourself out a lot?
I don;t know why but I just don't get gesture that much
I keep practicing but it always turns up messy and hard to understand
Criticism is appreciated thank you :)
>>2954178
compete in gesture battles to level up
>>2954180
anon this is serious they're a mess
>>2954178
I'll gesture battle you OP. It's just like pokemonz. You battle other artists to gain exp and level up. Post a new set of gestures and I'll reply with my own. Then you'll be able to see what I did right/wrong and both of us will gain valuable exp.
Just do a quick page of 30 sec gestures or something.
I've been trying to draw this bust but I'm a little stumped. I see that something is wrong but I don't know what it is exactly. Please provide me with some tips and if possible, help me figure out what's wrong. Here's the picture I'm trying to draw.
>>2954025
Here's the rough sketch
>>2954025
And here's a more refined (unfinished) version
You need to go back some steps and learn line control and practice drawing primitives in perspective
Does someone have references of the body muscles as detailed as this but in a female version. can't find shit in google and i don't want to download all the books in the artbookthread
here ya go, also you can googlefemale ecorche and you will find lots of stuff
>>2954990
thanks senpai
My first drawing. I followed: introtofiguredrawing by Mandy Boursicot
How do I refine my shading? It looks really horrible imo, I just can't do it / don't know how.
Are there in-depth tutorials on how to render lights and shadows?
Thanks in advance.
>>2952583
Nice OP. I think it looks pretty decent. Much better than my first. Never lose that hatred for your work though. Pic related, first drawing.
>>2952588
Oh believe me, I wont lose that anytime soon. Thanks btw and nice hand haha, they are difficult to do.
>>2952583
If this is your first drawing than kill yourself you have missed your entire child hood and human experince upunto this point and your life will be forever crippiled and broken.
How do you get more exposure/ followers in Tumblr? how is that place even work?
>>2949835
>he posts on tumblr
>>2949835
>have artist friends that reblog you, siphoning off their followers (gigantic help, depending on their following)
>tag your shit like crazy
>fanart/flavor of the month etc general public appeal
>consistency of posting
basically the way tumblr works is one dude reblogs your shit, 1000 people see it, 10 of them reblog and it just goes upwards from there.
this is why it can be extremely hard until you have a following which can reblog your shit, unless you draw fotm fanart and tag it relevantly (and be good enough to appeal to that fanbase, too)
>>2949862
I see it's something like a snowball effect, since the place is pretty over saturated this shit is going to take a while. I'll give it a try anyway, thanks brah.
Did anyone try to buy supercheap chink fake wacom tablet? There is e-bay listing for http://www.ebay.com/itm/2017-One-By-Wacom-Bamboo-Splash-Pen-Small-Tablet-CTL471-Drawing-Tablet-Windows-/262936337278, do you think it's a waste of 5 dollars and 3 weeks waiting, or should I buy it?
>>2942739
Probably some spying software in the driver CD to get your personal information. Clever scam, don't do it.
>>2942740
Pretty sure there are better ways to distribute malware then to package it with 5 dollar piece of shit hardware that no one will buy.
>>2942739
buy it, it's probably fine, if it ends up not being good enough for drawing you can at least play osu! with it
