I'm starting a new series of works about human experimentation. This is the first of these works. Notice that the big guy is in extreme pain, but there is a sense of willingness that he is doing it for you..
I would like to know what you all think of this new endeavor

Lot of effort for a shitty post.

Ayyee Guys..
How do you go to bed if your artowrk is not finished. how do i escape the feeling of, nuuu i hjave to keep werkingg on eeett"
urr merr geerrddd i cant sleepp.
Worry until my eyes are so tired that I fall asleep out of exhaustion.
wouldn't it be a good thing to get some rest so you can look at your art with fresh eyes when you wake up
keep it on a new layer and when you eventually tire, sleep and then wake up, you'll be thankful you did it all in a new layer.
not sleeping is worse than being fucking drunk, you have no way to make decent art while you're sleepy.
go to sleep and get up earlier instead
I recently purchased a new tablet, the huion H610 pro, and was wondering why this feels so awful. I can't draw the things I can on paper, and it'ks killing me, it just feels awkward and wrong. Also, it feels kind of slow to move, would changing the screen ratio help for that?
>it feels awful
it gets better
>i can't draw the things i can on paper
it takes time
>it feels awkward and wrong
it does for everyone. after two or three months it will feel natural.

>I've been practicing with charcoal for 3 years, why do I suck at oil painting!?
It's a new medium, anon, and with every new medium comes "tricks of the trade" you have to learn. You need to take time and learn your chosen art program, first and foremost. Learn keyboard shortcuts, especially. They will be your greatest ally, by far.
Just give it some time, and get plenty of practice in. You'll get there
>>3038148
i remember that feelin,
you're still a digital virgin. give it about 2 weeks and your mind will wrap around the concept of not looking at your hand when you draw, rather up at the screen instead.
draw for 2 weeks 3 hours a day mang. and you'll be with the rest of us.
Graduated a few months ago, and seriously not getting an internship during college was one of the most shit decisions I've made.
That an not specializing on one specific thing. My portfolio is a butchered mix of graphic design, illustration, and video editing with a bit of 3D on the side.
There are literally no jobs that apply to what my portfolio is, and with no sense of direction I feel like the only realistic option for me is to
1. Get a job at a restaurant (Which is now much more difficult for me to do since I am no longer in school and already have a degree, which restaurants avoid)
2. Build up portfolio within an internship (Which raises the issue of making money while building up another portfolio, including the issue of relocating for an unpaid internship)
This is certainly not an uncommon circumstance, but boy does it suck to have graduated and not have any leads.
Anyone else in the same situation?
inb4 lul college, ok bud

What's a book that will teach me a lot of shit about perspective?
perspective made easy by ernest norling
perspective made easy
then scott robertson's how to draw, which is basically an encyclopedia on the subject. it's a big book
If i keep this kind of ratio how fast am i going to get burned out? I will keep doing it since i still have that begginer burst of motivation that everyone gets when they start anything. Did you do the same starting out or decided to slow it down a bit to not get burned out too fast?

I'm facing a serious issue, lads. Why the fuck can i not draw!? I can 3D model and sculpt with clay, but when i have to use pen and paper/tablet i can't even get a clean line.
So my program shares like 90% of the same classes with some fine arts degree that i want to get (already did like most of the work so why not get another degree to milk money with) but i'm worse than the first years. It's actually pretty fucking frustrating, sometimes i just make a quick model just so i have a reference on what to put down on paper. It's the opposite of how you're suppose to work.
draw more, in pen
Well you may not have considered this but drawing and sculpting are two separate skill sets and not everything translates from one to another.
>ometimes i just make a quick model just so i have a reference on what to put down on paper. It's the opposite of how you're suppose to work.
It doesn't matter HOW you work, in fact using maquettes for reference is a method used by lots of imaginative realists. Pic related is a model that was used for a cityscape.

and here's the actual piece. If you have 3D skills, utilize them and see if it benefits your process.

Those wonderful people at Artstation changed the algorithm to put things in trending based off of people's follower count, rather than the actual amount of views and likes.

i wonder why, don't really see how it benefits them
Yeah I really don't know what they get out of it... I use to find way cooler stuff when they didn't change the algorithm.
