after a brief bit of research i have come to this understanding of how to modify real proportions to fit the animanga style.
my question is, am i correct in this? and is there anything i am missing?
P.S. before you start, yeah i know not all styles are the same etc etc, its all pretty similar and at least for this artists's style.
You compared an anime-style young female to a realistic middle-aged male.
There's more variables than style going on here.
>>3039896
If you want to do manga you should just use the proportions for babies in Loomis' book.
>>3039914
the basics of proportional cues and feature placement are the same for real males and real females as per loomis.
IF YOU ARE A /BEG/INNER IN ART, please use this thread to post pieces for critique or ask for advice. We should not have to make new threads or post in the Drawthread with our fundamental exercises.
Feel free to post even the smallest exercise you have done to show you are still trying, do not give up, make someone proud.
RESIZE YOUR IMAGES TO ~1000 PIXELS:
#1)
>screenshot the image and post that instead
#2)
>change camera capture settings to something smaller
#3)
>send to computer and resize in MSPaint

TRY TO BE MORE ACTIVE AND GIVE PEOPLE SOME FEEDBACK - many studies are left unreplied, which is a bit sad and can be quite demotivating for the people that try their best to improve, but are left directionless.

even how to draw manga books tell you not to draw useless belts, why is it still so common in character design
>>3038843
rule of cool.
>>3038843
It's pretty evident to me that's a strap for the holster
A singular belt isn't good enough to hang yourself
Can we have a thread for this? Is this against the rules?
Pic related, something I made in aseprite some time ago.
Just made this

First time I ever tried drawing anything in my life other than stick figures. Is there any hope for me to get good if I keep practicing or is it some talent you're born with?
NSFW image btw.
nah ur fucked, trash
>>3039758
Look at your reference more, you seem to have created a lot of details that aren't there.
The silloette contour seems to be in fair proportion.
But if you're going to draw nudes, you can't be afraid to draw dicks.

what's that shit on the back though

So, I have a problem and I would like other's advice on the matter. Long story, short..
Commissioned an artist back in November, artist asked if I could pay upfront because he was in dire trouble and needed money. Since Novemeber I've e-mailed him every month asking for update and he says he's working on it. Fast forward to last week where he e-mailed me back and said he's busy paying bills and needs money now so he won't have time to do my commission and he needs to take brand new ones to pay bills. To add insult to injury he asks if I could loan him $300 and we could use that for another commission down the road.
What should I do at this point? Should I just write him an e-mail back and tell him to go fuck himself? Months ago I came to the fact I was never going to see the art I paid for so I ignored it, now this really pisses me off.
>>3038207
If it's not too late to get a refund through paypal initiate the refund. He's not going to pay you back otherwise. It isn't your problem that he can't handle paying his bills and commissions.
Otherwise try to sue him. Serving him papers might be enough to get your refund.
>>3038207
What was the commission? Something major, or some small fan-art? Please let me know.
I'm really sorry to hear it. It's always frustrating to hear so-called 'artists' ruining things for others.
Obviously, do not give him a single cent more. And about the money: try to find out if suing him will be more costly than regarding the $300 a loss. It might be less costly to see it as a valuable life lesson, and just keep poking him until he gets off his lazy butt.
>>3038207
>Should I just write him an e-mail back and tell him to go fuck himself?
nope, you should ask for a refund.
if he doesn't answer, threaten him to report him to paypal for drawing porn, and ask him if a blocked paypal account will help him pay his loans quicker.
I was working in sai for the last three days and then my computer froze and rebooted without me being able to save. END ME.
>>3037580
>Not saving within the time period of 3 days
Are you retarded?
>>3037587
Apparently
>>3037580
Is this another bait thread? Not saving for 3 days implies that you didn't turn off your pc and just went to sleep with the pc on in the background, and the fact that you didn't make a single save file for a project worth of at least 3 days. I will bite this time
>I drew her ID and Passport to show that she is in fact 18 years old. I have to start doing this for every cartoon girl I draw.
LOL
you know , i use to hate on shad, but i'm actually starting to think he is kinda funny now.
when you realize that the shadposter is only posting to make people angry instead of having a genuine interest in the artist you get don't heated anymore everytime you see a thread

It's been 22 years since Toy Story marked the beginning of commercially successful feature length 3D animation.
Name five 3D animators who are revered among the public (or animation fans) for their talent in the craft
Lasseter is the Walt Disney of 3D era but who (or where) are the Milt Kahl's and Bill Tytla's of 3D animation?
>>3035881
Probably hyper, he works at Respawn now.

I study Animation at University but I'm leaning more towards the art department side of things/visual development/story artist/concept art/sculpting.
3D animators are in a bit of a weird place in that from what I've observed, they don't seem to get much recognition. Many well-known animators are celebrated because of their work in traditional animation.
Most well-known animators are known because they were pioneers (or at least great businessmen), and/or are revered for their mastery of the craft. Maybe there hasn't been enough time for people to really make a name for themselves in 3D animation, maybe there are so many 3D animators around the same skill level that not many really stand out in the same way.
I can name a number of brilliant 3D artists who do digital sculpting and modelling but I'm struggling to name any well known 3D animators off the top of my head, which is a shame because there are some damn talented people out there.

Eight chan has loli drawthreads, they're the experts. Maybe you should go back there.
Draw a young boy, then add a vagina.
>>3034239
anyone know where the girl in op's pic is from?
3dsense Media School or FZD or Digipen ?
>>3039615
3DSense if you want to draw cute anime girls. FZD if you want to do amazing environments and assets.
How the FUCK do I get good at painting? Everything I've done in my life has had linework to some degree. With oil painting I can't use lines (unless you count underpainting). I just spent a 2 hours on a piece and it looks like a smudgy, blurry /beg/ tier mess.
please help me ill never fucking make it like this
digital
>>3037659
>only 2 hours
The masters spent hundreds of hours on their paintings. You have to spend at minimum 30 hours if you wanna have even a chance.
>>3037659
Sounds like you lack edge control, but post a picture of your painting so people can properly critique it.
Posting works.

My boyfriend and I couldn't decide what we were going to do for tomorrow (anniversary) so we wanted to settle it on a PS battle with my boyfriend.
The theme was junk + celebrities and we had a limit of 30 minutes, you guys decide the winner.
