Where are you from? In the UK at least some tattoo places run apprenticeships where you can learn. If you've studied art for 8 years and are actually good, you'll have no trouble getting accepted.

You need to walk in to shops with a portfolio and ask if any of them are accepting apprenticeships. You can try and do a preliminary search online, but I have no idea how often shops post apprenticeship openings online. There is no go-to trade school or program that I can think of that is actually good, it's a very old school style business. Mind you, most places expect you to buy your own machines and needles, and you'll need to find your own test dummies to tattoo on.

ok then what do you recommend?

Ctrl + Paint looks like the best one since it covers everything and includes both traditional and digital drawing but it's taught using Photoshop.

I'm a poorfag and use Krita, does it really matter as long as I learn the same concepts?

It's perfectly a legitimate concern that the person giving you advice probably doesn't even draw and is pulling it out of their ass, I'm not saying someone that isn't very skilled can't give good advice, but it's reassuring to learn from someone at an even or higher skill level than you, which is hard to tell on an anonymous image board filled with "Dunning-Krugers" as others call it.

They take the time and care needed to properly render out what they intend to show. Most folks I see here trying to emulate this look just shit all over the canvas and never bother to go in and refine forms.

I'm happy that all of the most loved artists on DA are mostly drawing portraits of women in various styles - inspired by Mucha, Van Gogh... even though a lot are very similar and imo boring - and not some abstract or totally haram contemporary art. It means either they're uneducated plebs who 'don't get it', or that deep roots are not reached by the frost. Digital will save our souls.

Just kidding. I find most interesting the fact that some of them gained a lot of followers in a short time. It's hard to understand why because the most popular all seem to do the same kind of stuff.
