ctrl-paint, google it. it is helpful for beginners and you can make your own adjustments to techniques when you get a bit better
I made this last night, did you have any critics for this ?

How do I get as good as you?
>>3130461
You just have to practice, no secrets.
But you can train on every single composent of the head for start (like the nose, the eyes...) and try to draw the head with all the composent placed in the good place.
That's a start. But you will have to practice for years before getting good at it.
I'm not an artist yet but I try to learn with my mistakes.

>doesn't realized he was being memed.....
What is your opinion on Clip Studio Paint? It's on sale, should I get EX for animation? Is it worth 80 euro, or should I just get the normal one for 23 euro?

Can we get a thread with Architectural art? I Haven't seen much so I'd like to know some other artist.
I drew this thing, it's not too great but drawing buildings is comfy for me. Is /ic/ the proper board for discussing the aesthetics of architecture? I've seen architecture threads on /fa/ too.
>Architects thinking they are artists
Know your place, leave art for the real artist.

What's wrong with architecture?
What are your thougts on Performance art?
I was recently at an exhibition of Marina Ambramovic, who is no doubt at the extreme end of the spectrum. (Do be wary when you look her up, it's quite freaky, including self-harm).
And it featured things like videos (some of which were intimate with the use of hedphones), live models, pictures, sculptures, benches, shoes made out of big quarz chrystals, and other homemade oddities.
If anything the interactivity of the media is a lot more apparent with this type of art (at least in Marina's case). Please share your thougts!
I think especially the kind of performances Marina Abramovic does are really interesting. I love how she puts her whole body and sould into it and is actively looking for how long she can do it and how far she can push her limits.
I think it also shows how we draw borders between types of arts and how to rethink them.
My personal favorite kind of performance art is video performance. It destroys pre-existing ideas of art and also how we archive and curate and talk about art.
>>3130231
If there's an idea behind it, sure. Most of the time it's just an example of pretentious millennials unwilling to learn an actual skill.

Where does ic draw the line between art and porn? R9k hated my sketch.
There is none, and your sketch is crap. Although if you cropped meat flaps out of the picture and plopped her on to a 4.75x4.75 full of trippy rainbow garbage you could get some nu-trap rapper to pay you big bucks for it.

Of course they would hate it, the average Robot has both a 150 IQ and le bon gout, he just misses a gf.

IF YOU ARE A /BEG/INNER IN ART, please use this thread to post pieces for critique or ask for advice. We should not have to make new threads or post in the Drawthread with our fundamental exercises.
Feel free to post even the smallest exercise you have done to show you are still trying, do not give up, make someone proud.

TRY TO BE MORE ACTIVE AND GIVE PEOPLE SOME FEEDBACK - many studies are left unreplied, which is a bit sad and can be quite demotivating for the people that try their best to improve, but are left directionless.

what do you think?
>>3129889
You're getting closer but it's through trial and error, not necessarily because you're feeling the underlying shapes. You need to be using guides.
Seriously use some Loomis guidelines or Reilly method or some system to break down the head shapes and build it up from there. You'll understand more than you do right now because you'll be drawing the whole head not a handful of scattered features that are only correctly placed through happy accident, not your growing knowledge
/ic/, there's something very wrong with the character in this illustration but i can't pinpoint it. Are head and torso too small?
It feels like something unplanned that the artist tried his best with but woke up one day, found out it was his deadline, cleaned it all up a bit then delivered.
But I'm no specialist. Can someone with a bit more experience in digital painting shed a light here so I don't ever sell something that looks like this?

>Human
>Draw dwarf
Also she ugly
>>3129785
The composition is terrible because the values don't work. First time I looked at it, saw the face, but then I was confused because the scroll cuts up the top. Didn't even notice that was a scroll. First impression already failing. It's not even obvious what she's doing. Is she looting a corpse? I don't know. Also, it's very blue when the card is already blue, making it even more difficult to look at. It all just blends together.
>>3129785
she looks like a dwarf instead of human
Any good resources (books, blogs, you tube channels, websites) on the techniques of neo-classical painting?
>>3129742
find a practitioner of modern oil painting and see if they have any interviews
>>3129742
i don't know a specific source, i have a book somewhere with a breakdown of david's technique, but only like a short thing.
there aren't a huge amount of books on technique for historical art for some reason, just massive quantities on interpretation. lots of books on a specific painter have a little break-down like the one i mentioned above, but i've not seen a like technical manual for artists of a specific period. which is kind of funny because you can get those things for like carpentry or book binding or whatever else. perhaps they're out there and i'm a poor researcher.
>>3129742
What exactly are you looking for? True neo-classical techniques or modern techniques that achieve a similar result? Or is there an artist's style that you had in mind?
I picked up drawing again recently. Can anyone give me any tips/advice and critiques?

head is attached awkwardly to neck, the head needs to go more to the left, right hand is tiny and thumbbase should atleast be visible, left hand is gigantic but not that bad otherwise. The ear is tiny.
your line confidence is very inconsistent, and what little lineweight there is seems unintentional.
go to the alt thread or beg thread and dont make your own thread
