I know that this sort of thread is looked down upon but generally it's people who haven't started yet who are scared or don't know where to start. I've been drawing for more than a few years now, studying, improving, making projects. Some things went well other didn't and I kept soldiering on... but lately I just CAN'T draw. It's like my mind is a blank slate and can only lazily draw practice figures or heads or basic perspective stuff. I've been looking at my old sketchbooks and I drew so much stuff from buildings to vehicles to attempts at animation, and that was the stuff I didn't throw away.
Anyone else with a few years of experience also faced this sort of art block? It's absolutely brutal compared to what happens in the beginning when it's just a matter of finding courage to try things out. This is like looking into an empty well in the desert, I'm getting seriously depressed. It's not a matter of motivation (I WANT to draw just as much) or skill or time, there are just no ideas. I've tried using this slump as an occasion to study harder but it's not the same when you don't have any problems to solve (in the sense that I have nothing to apply those studies to). WTF can I do?!

i used to use an old pirated version of Fireworks, from Macromedia, but since windows 10 came out, it became unstable and crashes too much now.

I drink some vitamin water, dissolve turmeric in yogurt and drink some ginger green tea before I start drawing. I don't eat many peppers but it appears to help me reach over that initial barrier.

Flash is a better software creation/programming suite than it is for ree-hand animation. That said, I really like Flash better in pretty much every way with the exception of the brush which was, is and forever will be fucking awful

People like to shit talk about sycra but honestly, he's a pretty successful artist. He owns one of the most popular youtube art channels with over half a million subscribers. Created his own art forum and has a huge loyal following, some of which decided to mimic his art style. He has a beautiful russian wife and a asexual asian art friend. And most of all, he's able to make a living out of what he enjoys doing. This is the life right here.

The other day I was thinking... there's a crapton of channels about drawing, not just speedpainting but straight up instruction. Think about all the subscribers these people have and how they manage to make a living.
