>Leave /ic/ to me
10-11 hours everyday
Hey guys, I'm an intermediate level artist(roughly around the level of the people in atl/styl thread) and I'm thinking of becoming a patreon member of sycra. Basically, for 15 bucks a month, I get a 30 minute critique. Do you guys think it's worth the money? Thanks.

how bout you post your work and ill give you a better crit for free
>>3070289
>better crit
>you suck everything's bad more loomis symbol drawing
>>3070289
Here are some sketches I did today. But how do I know if you're bullshitting or not?
>Family is curious to see my artwork
>All i have is porn drawings
>drawing safe for work material bores me to death
What do i do?
Draw cute stuff, like kissing, hugs and overall love. You don't know how boner giving and hard it is to draw an emotionally deep piece. And I tell you this from the POV of a hentai artist that draws all kinds of smut
>>3070217
That's why you keep a few drawings of tanks handy like I do.
>>3070217
Just draw a portrait of a pretty lady, normalfags love portaits
>>3070073
Good job. Is the paper grey? Or is the scan/photo dark? If not, some white chalk could help those highlights pop.
>>3070073
This looks pretty good. Really like the reflection on the pupil
>>3070074
Just white paper
Can someone explain the thigh gap for us? I know it's exaggerated and unrealistic but how does it work? Do the muscles attack to the pubic arch in a certain way to reveal the gap in different people or is it largely affected by how fat someone is.
Please respond.
>>3069771
>attack
Attach
How is it unrealistic? Many people have one. It depends on fat and how your body is built. I have x legs but I'm underweight so my bones are just built like that and I barely have a gap because of my x legs, if I didn't have that it would be a lot bigger
>>3069771
>I know it's exaggerated and unrealistic
bait
>tfw perspective is so hard that you abandon drawing
>>3069002
>when perspective is so hard that you want to abandon life
>>3069002
perspective seems like a hotter-than-normal topic on here lately.
perspective is hard though, i agree.
i tried to do a little life drawing using boxes and shit and it was hard as fuck. then i just drew the same shit without utilizing that perspective/construction mumbo jumbo and it was damn easy.
i dunno. i guess i just gotta massage it into my brain more or something so i can draw expressively and accurately with perspective instead of just feeling stuff out.

it's easy to grasp it if you're doing technical art like buildings, machinery, etc... capturing perspective on organic subjects, however, is a different challenge.
if you're a NEET who has made it a goal to WANT TO become a serious artist, you are going to have to practice 5-6 hours a day maybe a couple hours more. But if you have a job and a social life, it still has to be done every day for at least 2 hrs.
I suggest don't follow any rules, tutorials, or copy from established artists/artwork for now. Just take a graphite pencil, pen, whatever you like to use and a simple sketchbook. Go to a public area where people are sitting or standing and just DRAW WHAT YOU SEE FROM YOUR EYE. Draw people, animals, and trees.
If these subjects move, go on to the next one without hesitating. If you think you made mistakes, do not erase, just keep going. In fact don't bring an eraser with you for this training practice. Fill as many pages of your sketchbook. It does not have to be neat or clean, don't worry about that.
Rate my album cover. I am a trap artist. Aka mumble rap for that $$
>>3068851
I notice a lot of modern "trap" album covers, especially on SoundCloud, are either really shitty/quick drawings of the rapper or a very bad and unoriginal edit of an existing thing, like a cartoon character. I don't know whether or not you're good with normal art, but that album cover is horrible because it's common so it's very boring.
>>3068851
>no potleaves in the background
You wont make it in the industry
That right leg lol
You can add one thing to the sticky
Post it
Stop drawing anime.

nothing, is already too big as it easy and that just makes it harder for a beginner to buckle down and tackle it. The question is what would I remove without making it worst.
if your art doesn't suck hit me up i'll commission you since you're probably starving
drop your artwork and rates
[email protected]
>>3066224
Question is can you afford to hire me?
>>3066254
duh bitch
go for it
>>3066224
Holy shit can you be anymore vague?
hey ic...i'm doing ok with getting commissions.
but i have a huge problem with getting them done fast enough. i've had to turn work away knowing i'd probably do a shitty job with such a tight deadline.
i'd say i'm averaging about 600-800 per illustration, and then for the typical standing character it's about 200.
the biggest thing holding me back is how long it still takes me. and illustration takes at least two weeks for it to look as good as possible, and a character takes way longer than it should.
i mean, my income would be pretty rock solid if i could pump out those characters in 2 days max.
** i know there isn't a magic solution, but if i could hear any ideas and tips that would be good.
and i've tried the whole do-an-allnighter/don't sleep thing and my work just ends up looking terrible. i need good sleep to function.

obvious answer is practice. Try to do personal characters and illustrations in 2 days. the more you do, the faster you'll get. slow work is usually because of doing things you don't have enough experience with to do quickly and confidently.
also try to figure out what details can be sacrificed. for instance, there's no need to put a ton of details into the eyes of a character that will be viewed at full length, as no one's going to notice 60% of those details anyway. random or far away objects in an illustration can sometimes be left completely rough, even professionals do this.
experiment with all of that and practice.
>>3065928
use Sketchup for environments and DaZ studio for character poses. it will improve your time alot.
I am sorry but could you please post your work or something similar to your style and quality. I just want to see what quality of work do you need for this kind of prices.
I'm not that good at drawing, and I've only used charcoal once before this piece, and I need some brutal honesty on this.

Hey anons,
a few years ago i stumbled upon on of this blank stormtrooper head that was only given to 300 people. Most of these, were showcased at D23 the following year. Im not an artist so i plan to sell it in the future. Thoughts on it?

You need to learn how to draw hair. You did ribbons again. Dio has never had smooth, straight, sleak hair, it's always been curly and frizzy, bordering on a fro.
Also, check your values. You have one set of values in the coat, and then another with the face and hands. They should be the same.
>>3070086
You need to learn how to critique without sounding like a condescending twat
>>3070089
If you don't want criticism, don't post your work. You're making the same, obvious mistakes, and I'll call you out on it every time. if you want your ass kissed, go to Tumblr or Deviant.
Hey /ic/, this artwork had been the subject of discussion for years. Can these famous faces please be identified.
how do you know they're famous if you can't even identify them
>>3070029
I'll take a stab:
Rosa Parks, Eisenhower, Charlie Chaplin, Mark Twain, no clue, looks familiar but can't think of who right now, Jack Nicholson or Marlon Brando.
>>3070070
Guy to the left of Jack nicholson kind of looks like Freud
Can I get some 2D/3D renders of unique weapon designs? I'm tired of seeing the same old AK-47 and M4A1 and want to see something a bit more unique

$2500 fee + $150/hr for 10 designs. (2 weeks)
$5000 fee + $185/hr for 3D renders of all 10 designs. (2 weeks)
well you have to realize there are only so many ways to propel a shaped piece of metal through a tube, so nobodys gonna design a new gun based only on the exterior, but here are some unqiue looking ones.
