Hey guys, newfag nigger here.
I'm wanting to get a new tattoo, but I'm not sure what I want it to look like.
I was thinking you guys could help me out and draw up some ideas or something, I want the theme to be like Good v Evil, Violence v Peace, something like that.
The tattoo would be going on my chest: The "good" side on my left pec, and the "evil" side on my right.
you sure are a newfag alright, nigger.

I think you're a colossal faggot, find a decent artist and have them draw one up for you.
If they can't draw don't let them tattoo you.

Good vs evil is a played out concept. There are no absolutes. Only muddled nebulous grays. You should get your tits tattooed with a field of splotchy gray tones. That would be, like, sooo deep maaan.
Hello 4chan /ic/! This is my first attempt at svg art (that I tried on) It only took about 10 minutes, but I hope for some pointers!
Also, it would be great if you posted some SVG art! This image was exported as a bitmap because 4chan does not like .svg files.
The export didnt go quite right, but im not worried about the bitmap exporting. As you can see, the table is kind of disjointed. This is not the SVG. It is only in the bitmap.
Fixed image.
For a online contest, suggestions guys?

dont make your own threads, saging this comment
Let's say I want to charge $30 for a commission piece, and want to have enough offer to do about 10 of them each week.
What level would you think I'd need to be at to accomplish this? Please post some artwork so I can get an idea.
Printer level.

You need to be decent, not amazing but more importantly you need a following
After spending too long with charcoal pencils for my portraits, I'm ready to learn to paint. For the time being it will be digital, but eventually with oils.
Anyway, I need to learn the fundamentals of colour theory. What's a good online source?
Looks like I'll be using a Surface Pro 4 for now, I hope I didn't fuck up. Seemed like a reasonable balance between Cintiq and iPad.
You can find the basics of color theory practically anywhere. Most of it can be summarized into images like this, and this is the sort of shit you'll see in droves when you google "color theory." There are websites like Color Scheme Designer that can get you an instant palette based on the fundamentals of color theory.
http://colorschemedesigner.com/csd-3.5/
I also got a program recently called ColourConstructor that can show you what colors look like in different lighting conditions and construct palettes for you, which is nice. I'd recommend it if you're trying to figure color out.
The more nuanced elements of color are something I struggle with as well. The basics are very simple and easy to grasp, but putting it into practice can be really challenging, at least to me. Sycra did a video on color that's actually not too bad, though.
You care about art. I get that.
I do too. I like to think art is the best way to express ourselves and our inner feelings.
This is just my way of starting conversation. Who here wants to speak about the most important piece of art they have created. The piece that means the most to them, because though it may not seem to relate to much from the outside, you know that it is like opening the pages of your journal to the darkest pages to let the public see.
Tell me. I am listening. I care.

Post your paintings, preferably non digital works, all subjects allowed. Feel free to give critiques and tips for painting but lets try keep it civilised.
So a drawthread just for paintings? kek

I think he's talking about these threads in general, but I don't see the problem with them
Hey, was wondering if i could get some feedback on a story I'm writing, I know it's not visual art but it's still art... Will post the first chapter after this too. Haven't got a name yet..
On the biggest planet in the Terraform system there is the biggest country, and in that country on the smallest island there is a city which holds over a thousand bars. And on the busiest street in the Kucho district of busy bars there is only one solid oak door fixed with brass working and melted signet rings as a door handle, this door stands 7ft tall and most lifeforms being carbon based or meta can access its' fixture with the right codex. But what this door leads to know many don't know or understand as within its' layers and walls there is the worlds longest bar. And with the worlds longest bar comes one of the systems biggest pay checks, an offer not many will turn down.
go to /lit/, look for their "Critique Thread," and post it in there
Chapter 1:
packing for the 6th time in 7 years Fox carried light. Before it was mostly about saving various pieces of furniture or beloved clothes but these days it was about the smaller things, toothpaste was something of a commidity and hard to find on many of the planets in the Terraform so having at least two tubes meant bartering... And fresh breath. The bar scene had dried up on Bahleed, a once proud epitome of the largest and strangest cocktails there wasn't even a hole in the wall left to serve a basic round of flare shots, besides only an idiot would order a flare shot. Bartending was a form of escaping, it was a way of paying the bills but not being tied down. You can be a bartender anywhere but you always seem to end up taking jobs with the deadbeats and losers of the planet which is what happened on Bahleed.
Taking a final look around the once bright and shiny room Fox saw nothing left in this place, it was no where the home it used to be. It became a prison. A loud series of knocks and frantic shouts begin to fill the hostile emptiness "Your shifts' in 5 minutes Fox! Get your fucking ass out here and ready to service some stock." This was the last time Fox was ever going to let someone pollute his ears with such blatent shit "Sure thing man, let me just find something to wear other than this obvious excuse for a smile and I'll be there now." Even pretending to care was a chore for him now, it was going to take two minutes to jump out the window (if it still opened) excavate down the fire shaft, land on either just cardboard or cardboard mixed with hunatas bottles, the only problem with hunatas being that it's great to drink with a pint but if it touches anything other than the inside of a body you become very intoxicated for a short amount of time.

Sorry I'll pop it over there now...
How do I draw like this /ic/? More loomis or what?
why would you?
High res and good line control is what you're probably aiming for.
I'm a beginner and who really wants to be good at drawing comic book style art. My favourites are the old horror/sci-fi pieces from 1950s onwards. This is something I've done, and its quite shit compared to the professional work I've seen but I think it displays possibilities of myself improving. After all, this is a fairly easy style to become adept in I think.
Can anyone provide any good sources for guides, books, tutorials etc? Also feedback is cool
This is the kind of thing I try to copy
I don't know much about the storytelling aspect but I do draw allot with inkpens. Use 3. One that is dull and very light, a pure black fine point pen, and like a fat marker that you can use to cover large dark areas with quickly and smoothly. will post some of my work.

Hello, /ic/.
Are there any rules for creating and transporting an atmosphere to the viewer? I dont know how to describe it any further.
Pic kinda related.
All sorts, none 100% firm.
Perspective can be a big one, looking down at something gives a different feeling than it towering over you. Obviously lighting is important, consider the difference between something done in a shadowy noir style to something well lit, and if you've ever seen those art/photography guides on how to light a face you'll notice some make people look very sinister while some don't. Your palette will also imply a certain atmosphere, whether it's subdued and desaturated or vibrant, what colors you choose, etc.
What I say is go through movies you like. Any movie with good cinematography has taken conveying the movie / scene's tone or atmosphere into account in regards to composition, color, etc. Study films (and other art) with a similar mood as what you're going for.

I tried making a digital art Bob Ross styled "painting" and I have no clue how to do the middle ground and foreground, any help would be appreciated. I'm using SAI if it matters.
You make those mountains bigger, then you throw some happy little trees there and a happy little lake and a happy little grass.
And then you add some huge trees right in the middle of the painting that totally fit the composition

Lol, thanks.
Use a reference.
What if I told you I can paint in 3d? Effectively combining visual art and sculpture using a series of painted lenses?
Transparent washes on a stack of glass plates.
This shit aint new yo.
>>2319470
congratulations you are doing what every professional on the concept art field/photographers already do
is called compositing
is called photobashing
is called it doesn't matter just do something appealing
