Hello /ic/ !
I am wondering how to make my website more aesthetically pleasing, and/or professional if need be, I am an architect student looking for any internship possible and was hoping that this might raise my chances. Thank you very much!

whoever drew one px hitler did a good job.
Been a long time like a weekish and the thread is long overdue, hopefully what would be great is that if I can't find any time to make a new thread then other anons should do it for me, just like the draw threads.
So as you can tell by the subject of the thread, what we'll be working on today is a concept known as interlocking forms. Like I mentioned ages ago that a warhammer illustration just contains thousands of objects/gradients - likewise those objects in some instances or many can be locked together to form strange and complex objects/shapes. This is the essence of what building an illustration is all about.
So the task for this thread?
Task:
You will need to develop 4 seperate segments showing analysis and study in the concept or interlocking forms.
Each segment will contain 3 phases.
Phase 1: Your drawing phase, here you will draw the forms together, focusing on shape, perspective, scale and line confidence.
Phase 2: You will begin developing your lighting and values, where you will show how that object will be lit in 3 dimensional space.
Phase 3: You will finish with a rendered version of the drawing you began with. Paying high attention to core-shadows, occlusion shadows, bounce-light, direct light, highlights and drop shadows.
If you can make use of 3D software do so as it is useful or you can find a relative source on the internet. I also recommend setting up your own lighting if you have an object that has some form of interlocking going on. For example a mug (Cup) etc.
Useful source:

I also recommend you do 2 segments on basic shapes, not going into detail and the finale 2 segments based on some form of human anatomy or complex mechanical forms that you may find in.. say a stripped down engine for example.
Good luck. Have fun and this thread is to help everyone learn together.

>tfw accidentally polished shit
WHY DO THIS KEPT HAPPENING
Just play tf2 man be a real nigga like me books r shit
>>2375337
Don't spend too much time on drawing one picture.
t. someone who only draws ellipses, straight lines and basic head construction, literally nothing else
>>2375337
What works for me is, instead of drawing something and polishing it, I draw the thing I want to draw with minimal detail, usually smaller too. Then I draw it again changing what doesn't feel right, and then again until I can feel good about it. Then I polish it.
Even if it's polished shit, I know I tried my best to elevate it from being shit before polishing.
I need some opinions on whether to buy a Wacom cintiq 2nd hand or a surface pro for less money, I want to be able to take which ever anywhere and to be able to stream and draw at the same time. Any opinions are helpful.
>>2369547
For me, I always buy equipments like this brand new rather than 2nd hand in order for you to avail the warranty it has.
Also, if you buy a 2nd hand gadget, try to buy something refurbished from the manufacturer or someone you trust.
Or , if you are patient enough, try to wait until the price drops before you buy it. Nothin bad with buying an older tech as long as it does the job.
Just my take, OP.
>>2369547
depends. If it isn't a cintiq companion then you wont be able to draw on it without a laptop to power it up. The companions are like regular tablets, all others are regular monitors.

The California College of the Arts is offering a free online course on comic making. Thoughts?
www.kadenze.com/courses/comics-art-in-relationship/info
>>2380835
The instructor only has 1 comic published (correct me if I'm wrong) called homeless shelter and it looks like heavily referenced, no style, utter garbage. I can't even find his portfolio.
It couldn't hurt, right?
>>2380835
what a fucking joke, the main instructor literally traces.
-heckler calling cheat on deviant.
-someone else prove heckler just is a butthurt by using logic and his other works.
-heckler too stupid to admit he is wrong.
Seriously this guy is a god-tier hyperrealistic
artist. Can people stop shittposting on his deviant and admit he is just good?
Why is being Good not trusted nowadays?
How can artist give back trust to common people?
[ - ]
how much proof one must give for his art to be trusted?
Even traditional oil artist are now called cheat if they use projectors...
I talked to Nadar, he is a nice guy. There is shittstrom on him for no reason.
When you see his step by step it look clearly hand painted.
When I look the industry a lot of things could look fake but in fact it is a matter of skill. I bet Davinci art was called cheat during his time. Ignorant people just can t understand process and still believe magic exist.
There is no magic just skills.
Can you believe how pleb they have become? Some guy went as far as to color a Nagel illustration in yellow to say it was the same style. I'm outraged.

I think you're probably a retard too, anon

thats direct kung fury refernce you dipshit
>>2356017
are you a retard? do you think kung fury's style is original?
How do you make an object look 3D/not like symbol shit with just line art? Even drawing with a 3D mindset/drawing what I see, it comes out looking horrid. I've watched Prokos vids a million times but I still seem stagnant. Especially when it comes to "building form". I thought I could do that, but apparently it still seems like symbol drawing garbage.

Start simple. boxes, cilinders, pyramids. Once they start to look fine, use different perspectives. (pick not related).
>>2380031
The trick is drawing a lot (and mainly from life) and trying to make it either realistic or at least simplified in a geometric way (not in a cartoony or anime way because you want to break your bad habits at first). If drawing is becoming frustrating do some sculpting with clay or plasticine from anatomy books (i recommend Peck for this)
Hey /ic/ I am getting a tattoo soon but I dont really know what I want to get. Im nkt really scared by the whole "its there forever so make aure you put a lot of thought into it" thing though. I just want a cool drawing on my forearm. I like pic related but I know that I cant really pull it off. If any of you would like to draw something similar lr actaully anything at all Ill consider it. If all goes well ill come back soon an post pics of the final product.
It's not there forever, it can be removed, but it's equally painful and doesn't really clean everything.
>>2373573
I'll do it for $400

YA SURE BRO.
http://www.amazon.com/Wacom-Intuos3-12-Inch-Tablet-Metallic-Gray/dp/B0003009AI
Is this a good tablet to start with? I have experience drawing but not with tablets.
>>2378632
go for huion h610 pro, thats the best tablet to start with
>>2378640
it's better than intuos draw?
>>2378632
The intuos3 9x12 is the best tablet on the market. Not kidding. A lot of pro artists have a couple of those stashed under their beds, out of fear that their current one might break and they have to buy one of the crappier newer models. I have never tried the Huion h610 pro, but personally I would not buy chinese knock off quality products.
Does anyone else feel like the quality of this board is completely gone? Has it ever been good?
>>2375618
On the contrary we hardly see any photobashers or concept artists. It could be worse.
It has never be good
The community sucks
Nobody knows how to draw
This is no place to improve
>>2375626
I just feel like whenever someone who comes here that doesn't know what they're doing, they'll hear "loomis" and be shit on
Also, now you can't even ask for someone's blog unironically without being claimed to be a shitposter.
And, maybe its just me, but now i have this really unheatlhy view of art now that ive been here for awhile.
If I do 2 still lifes everyday will my drawings stop being so flat?
Only if you learn from your mistakes.
>>2380633
So basically just apply what I learn from the still lifes?
>>2380607
only if you get off of the computer and go draw like an actual human being.
I did this a couple days ago, best bit I did. It's using an acrylic marker, just focused on form, rhythm and gesture.
May as well link my tumblr while I'm here: http://vulpespietates.tumblr.com/
>>2379180
there's 2 separate threads for what you did here OP, you aren't special. get back in line boy
>>2379184
K, sorry m8
1) You don't need your own thread
2) It's clumsy, you didn't even bother with the hands, and your "focusing" on rhythm and gesture failed and there's zero form anyway.
3) Don't put filters on your drawings you fucking dolt.
4) Don't fucking do the drawabox exercises in pencil jfc the dude reminds you every single lesson

Post your current drawing here and give constructive critique to others!
Please make sure your posted image is clear, downsized to around 1000 pixels wide, rotated to the correct orientation, and that any unused space is cropped.
If you want critique on a drawing from the previous thread, you can delete it there and repost in this one.

Made some engagement band ideas. Not sure if any of them would actually be wearable or appropriate for the intended use.
Some anon posted this wip in the old thread after the bump limit. I just wanna tell you I like it, and I'd like to see it finished!
Also: Blog?
I want to fill the whole page with a neat "garage" scene. How does it look so far? any critique?
