Paint Tool Sai, i used the Noise texture on the brush tool to get a nice grain to the line work and also to color. It gives a nice pastel look to the colors.

I love your stuff dude. That uploading problem is really unfortunate. Also, Java tends to make multiple folders for different version of Java. (mainly when it changes version number, like 6 to 7) Try to look up if you don't find more Java folders. I would really like to help you, but I don't know how.

gimp/gnu-imp is a pretty nice free program for making animated gifs.

to make a gif in gimp/gnu-imp it basically goes like this:

drag and drop an image of yours into the main window, then drag additional images into the "Layers, Channels, Paths, Undo - Gradients" window. finally, you get to do FOUR SAVES!!!!! fantastic huh?

> add .gif at the end of the filename in "Name" (it doesn't do it automatically)
> open the arrow down/up menu and select "GIF image (*.gif)"

Not to totally suck your dick, OP, but I think there's a classic beautious simplicity to your drawings and to be honest I'm trying pretty hard to emulate them. I find it hard not to have a sketchy scrawled outline when I draw which looks quite messy when using pen and inks (freehander). Besides Nausicaa and Laputa, most of the character designs for Ghibli movies were done by Yoshifumi Kondo and Katsuya Kondo (no relation).
