Whenever I'm talking about him, this is literally the exact phrase I use. He is the personification of the the "boy next door" trope.

And he hangs out with Tyler Oakley and Troye Sivan (two of YouTube's biggest flamers (pic related)) more than he hangs out with the guys on his collab channel, so I wouldn't be surprised if he was gay. Damn crushes, diverting our attention from other things. I briefly had a thing for Troye, prior to Connor, but now I'm a solely Franta-fancier.

That was a very interesting read, and it actually makes a lot of sense. Tyler, as an example, has settled really well into the gay rolemodel position, especially with the activism and charity work. But to take on that kind of pressure would be a bit of a nightmare initially; one wouldn't know what to do. So, assuming Connor is gay and the religious parents concept isnt affecting him, then maybe it is as the Ben Cook comments suggest, he just doesn't want all closeted eyes staring at him.

Talking about Jack, nearly no question. From day one, I have doubted his straightness. I recall seeing once that he said he was bi as a joke, but I dont actually think it was. Potentially testing the waters for a reaction, and how his fanbase would react if it were true. Sidenote, however, his hair at the moment really really turns me off. I just looks... too messy.

One thing I noticed in the vlogs was that Troye and Connor are almost always right beside each other, and in Marcus's recent Italy vlog it seems they shared a bed.

Before Troye came out he had roughly 300,000 followers. Now, a year later he has over two million, so I don't think it will hurt him too much.

Regardless of sexuality, doesn't this thread show how the people who make YouTube videos are expected to reveal every detail about their life? Even if they don't, people seem pick up on minute details from other videos, tweets, and their photos. I realise it's just the modern form of tabloid newspapers, but the level to which their actions are scrutinised and discussed is pretty frightening.

Though, if they are repressed or have fears about anything, I think they have gained a prominence which gives them a power to influence the culture of their viewers. As a non-obsessed observed, it's interesting to see what choices they make, like Tyler Oakley for his charity work. But I think only John Green makes interesting, somewhat intellectual content and the rest I don't really pay any attention to..
