What's the best book to read on Napoleon?

Campaigns of Napoleon by Chandler is the definitive napoleonic text

Not OP, but I'd love to read books in the Napoleonic era that aren't too academic. I remember reading a sample from a memoir that was written by some British guy during what I think was the second coalition (?), talking about how Scottish troops were the best behaved, and about how Wellington was a ladies man. I wish I could remember the name, it was a great bit of literature and I would have loved to read the whole thing. Anyways, I'd like something that's informative, but not too heavy reading.

To give an example, I don't want Infantry in Attack, I want Panzer Commander.
