Tell me more about their role in ww1, they seemed to preform a lot better then they were capable of or expected to

Nah, they got shrekt by the Russians in the Caucasus (it was stupid), and the Brits and French in their Middle Eastern Possessions.

The thing is, however, plenty of their officer corps survived WWI, and learned from the experience, allowing them to pull this off.

>they seemed to preform a lot better then they were capable of or expected to
Based on what, Gallipoli? T.E. Lawrence said that he wouldn't be nearly as famous and respected if he could just make people understand how stupid and ill-prepared the Turks were.

He had another trip to Egypt like Jotaro but the place was too hot and they had to back down and some blind guy destroyed all their cool ships
He had some more shenanigans with Germans and Russians,Kicked more Australian ass,got an ulcer in Spain, decided to march to Russia, got cold and turned back and then have to settle in France and he got sent to an island,he escaped and tried to become the cool kid again and they sent him to another island this time

Napoleon was a great man. He took on the world and nearly won. But he gambled one too many times. Lost it all. His military genius is often focused upon but his Napoleonic code is still the basis of the French law to this day. It also influenced many other countries government. Napoleon also created the first government run schools.

Would calling the Protestant's God "Satan" as a Catholic still be referring to your God?
Does their interpretation of the lies of Luther mean their God is no longer the God of Catholic, and true Christian religion?
Or should I repent for my outburst?

Protestants worship the same God as the Catholics.

Unless they are crazy cult Protestants (You fuckers know what I mean by this, so don't play.).
>>
>>3079015
But do Catholics worship the same God as Protestants is what I'm asking.

I understand Protestants believe they follow the Christian God, but their Luther interpretation is false, would that not make it a different God?

God speaks via the pope
so who speaks to the protestants?

obviously since there is a difference in doctrine and worship god is only speaking to one and not both

take into consideration that god punishes those who blaspheme and stray away from the his will, only one truly speaks to god

you are not wrong

Why is it that America, in general, is much more individualistic than Europe? Theres much more of a "fuck off and leave me alone" attitude to the american way of thinking

is it all just an offshoot of English ideas of classic liberalism?

Though Blacks and Native Americans are pretty tired of the European descendants shit.

Genetic descendents of people whose behavior was to take adventurous risks. Remember that behavior is partially genetic and epigenetic.

So the pioneer spirit is literally in their blood. It's not merely cultural or environmental.

Is it true that the Romantics of the early 19th century were a reactionary turn against the values of the Enlightenment?

I read this on /lit/ but find it hard to believe, given how much folks like Bryon and Shelley hated the church and tradition and idolized liberal icons like Napoleon.

It was a counter-culture that broke with the Enlightenment's idea of the rationality of nature and human beings. The movement sought to describe the spirit and/or soul in nature, things and humanity. However to think the romantic era of art and litterature was of a solely religious character is wrong, since soul and spirit were seen as things inherent and intrinsic to objects independent of religion and God. These phenomenes were merely to be interpreted and described by the artistic genius. The mood and the feeling of the art is therefore paramount in the art of the period.

The idea of artistic genius stems from this period. People believed that the true artist was capable and willing to tap into a higher world of ideas, almost and sometimes in a platonic way (universalism and neoplationism), in short they could see the truth behind the veil, the truth of course being the spirit and soul of an object or an event; a sort of mystic almost. As you see this is highly in contrast with the enlightenment, where focus is placed on the mind to peak through the veil by force of reason alone and not feeling.
>>
>>3078162
And as such it is opposed to clergy because it places focus on the personel experience of things. I.E. not having ministers telling you what's right and wrong.

Is sexuality a social contrust? Is how we currently view sexuality entirely based upon the Christian interpretation of which also destroyed the Holy Roman Empire?
Is the modern interpretation of sexuality all a social construct with no founding in humanity?

I came to think on this when I see arguments against both traps and muscular women, saying that traps are homosexual because you are attracted to a man despite feminine features, and muscular women are homosexual because you are attracted to masculine features on a woman.

This holds no logic or reason, and shows that homosexuality has come to mean something too broad to even accurately describe.
Being attracted to feminine features is gay, yet being attracted to masculine features of women is also gay? Preposterous.

What is /his/'s opinion on sexuality? Does the current interpretation of sexuality actually not exist because lust cannot be black and white?

Kind of have to agree with you, anon.
I find the whole traps 'tricking you into being gay' thing, strange. I mean their whole shtick is appearing and acting female, the only way one could even 'be tricked' into finding them attractive is because they aren't gay.

so what would you describe as European culture? I see it as stuff akin to folklore relating to knights and dragons, paganism, consumerism, art that focuses only on realism, and people like varg confirm it. Is this accurate?

>I am pretty sure there was, at one point, such a thing as western civilization. I think it involved things like dancing around maypoles and copying Latin manuscripts. At some point [Jupiter] might have been involved. That civilization is dead. It summoned an alien entity from beyond the void which devoured its summoner and is proceeding to eat the rest of the world.

1. An Indo-European or Uralic language, not including the Indo-Aryan branch. Exceptions to this exist (Basque, Maltese), but it's pretty straightforward.

2. Christianity, excluding some of the unusual Eastern churches (Ethiopian Orthodox Church, for example).

3. Democracy/republicanism. Yes, Europe has obviously had monarchies, but from Classical Greece to Republican Rome to Magna Carta to the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth, there seems to be something intrinsically linking Europeans and democracy.

4. Rationalism. A belief that events, and the world at large, are explainable without a vague "the gods did it" answer. Similarly art is "rational" (it explains something in realistic ways).

5. Greco-Roman legacy. This one is arguably redundant, but the various European cultures all draw very heavily from these two civilizations.

I find the similarities between these two to be quite fascinating.

>After the death of a tyrant, both were able to gain power and land.
>Both had rivals with whom they shared half their respective world with
>Neither were great generals, but had great men to help them pave their path to victory
>Both laid the foundation of the greatest classical empires

What does /his/ think about these two? How did these two differ?

Maybe a better comparison is that both were seen as the underdogs. Xiang Yu and Marc Antony seemed to always have the upper hand against their rivals (Antony controlling the eastern provinces and Egypt; Xiang Yu controlling more populous regions and continuously beating Liu Bang until Gaixia)
