Was digging through old files and found this thread from when /sci/ went treasure hunting back in 2013.
Basically,
>anon finds old piece of paper in mirror
>turns out to be a super sekrit map
>turns out to point to some Caribbean island
/his/ didn't exist back then so it would be interesting to hear you thoughts on this, whether its authentic and what it would mean.
Anyone knows if OP found any treasure?

Compare these two representatives, who are the average of their respective churches.
See the Protestant "pastor", full of hate and without love or compassion for his fellow man, twisting the words of scripture to suit his bigotry.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L1alIQozubY
And the priest, who exemplifies the love and compassion Christ commanded of us, truly seeking to spread the word and help those in need, while remaining firm in his convictions.

Of course, protestants will swarm this thread with "muh babylon" and "muh whore", but in the real world, it is clear who is actually practicing Christ's teachings.

The problem is fags have no right to subvert the Christian orthodox teachings, which they constantly try to do.

That's not a Protestant vs Catholic issue it's a difference between sermon based services and liturgy based services. There are mainline denominations which are mostly liturgy based such as Anglicanism and Lutheranism and the high church currents within these. Sermon based services are a modern phenomena taking place under the influence of Evangelical Protestantism. The impulse among Catholics in recent times to not be "cultural Catholics" is probably another manifestation of this Evangelical influence. And traditional apostolic denoms in America have also taken to sermonizing recently.

Really I think having sermons every week is a bit forced and can sound hollow as a result. Not because the sermon might be considered boring but because the person giving the sermon has to constantly find something to talk about every week. All because of a feigned attempt to pander to Protestant influence.

The second video is a Q&A and the first is something I would hesitate to call a "sermon." It's also a very extreme example, and the fellow probably isn't even really a Protestant. Baptists kind of straddle the line, with some Baptist traditions being almost as old as the Reformation, others pretty much directly following the stream of the Radical or Anabaptist Reformation (which is NOT Protestant), and most just being somewhere in between at varying distances and degrees. The Protestant churches I came out of tended to sound more like the second video than the first.
I'd bet this guy inherited his congregation from his daddy, was never ordained in his life, and probably never went to seminary, never came under care of any regional ecclesiastical body, never spent a period of licensure and examination by said ecclesiastical body in theology, the English Bible, the original languages of Scripture, pastoral issues, or ecclesiastical history.
>I think having sermons every week is a bit forced and can sound hollow as a result
It kind of depends. If you've got a really sound lectionary, half of the work is done for you and you don't have to recreate the wheel every time. Also, if you follow the lectio continua (preaching through entire books of the bible for as many Sundays as it takes), you have a wealth of varying material to work with. Most evangelicals really tend to cover a very limited range of topics, which by the way usually leads to them veering into areas the Bible never really covers, like how to invest your money, how to plan your career, how to make sex with your wife more exciting, and all the major concerns of bored, fat, white suburbanites.
Is pic related accurate?
Why are so many Christians racist? We are equal under God's eyes.
Its easy, the blacks are all cursed with the curse given to Ham by Noah, thus they are to be shunned from the bloodline of man.
Its just common sense!
>>3151603
Because we are also all sinners
No one in my Arkansas parish is racist, and our Father until recently was a Nigerian who's been replaced by an Indian.
I know this is bait but just as a chance it's not.
Why has Catholicism been so evil historically?

>Why has Catholicism been so evil historically?
Because they worship the devil like the Jews.

What are your opinion on them? I came across this reddit post that make a really good explanation for Gödel's Ontological Proof for the Existence of God and he said some very interesting things about Ontological Arguments in general and how they're failed. Here it is:

How come the Celtic Orthodox Church didn't take hold in Europe?
Also how does the Celtic Orthodox differ from its Eastern counterparts?
pic unrelated
>>3151257
Iirc they have difference in tonsure and the calculation of the date of Easter. I think that's there's modern day revivals of it in Britain, namely the British orthodox church, I had some email correspondence with their leader a few years ago, but I may be wrong.
Is Orthodox Judaism anti-semitic? According to mainstream Orthodox Judaism, everything bad that ever happens to the Jewish people is because God is punishing them for their sins. That means that ultimately, Jews deserve being kicked out of every country they go to, and being killed en masse in things like the holocaust. When will this horrible ideology of hate be stamped out?
>>3151239
Eh, it's complicated.
The idea is that the faith was brewed in a time when it was more emotionally freeing to create a sense of agency where horrible events were a deserved judgement for not fulfilling an impossible contract than to understand that they were being chewed up by a vast universe that didn't particularly notice their significance.
>>3152077
It's not kind, but it let them think that they were the masters of their fate instead of a tiny nation state camped out between several large empires that ran them over every few years.
Could anyone tell me the proper latin translation for "nothing is more powerful than a changed mind" or "nothing has the power of a mind decided"
Thankyou,
