Christianity is a dirty foreign religion with no roots in Europe and that is why it loses its power each day.
The secualrs try to replace it with atheism or feminism or other modern isims but still people are lost.
The right thing to do would be for a person to return to their ancestors pagan roots.

>Replace it with feminist
That makes no sense, feminism isn't a religion, it's a political ideology. That would be like trying to replace democracy with paganism, one thing has nothing to do with the other.

>or other modern isims
In your case it is autism, I take it?
>>
Obvious bait thread, but Christianity was hugely influenced by Hellenistic culture.

So what does /his/ think of history as a school subject?

I just talked with my friend from my old high school, and there was no subject he hated more than history. He said that learning about the world's past rather than future and present is an idiotic way to educate. Even though I pointed out his ignorance, I didn't really have much of a comeback in terms of proof, it's really difficult to explain when you yourself is a very 'historic' person. So what do you think, /his/? What should I have said, and what is your response to his viewpoint?

>>
You can't look at the future to learn about the present. You can't learn about the future, at all. History, of course, repeats, and it affects every person every day of their lives. It is important to know what shapes people, their societies, thoughts, culture and paradigm.
>>
>>64546
Stupid fag would know that history can give you a decent guess of how the world will turn, since history tends to repeat itself very heavily.

Also, how do you fucking teach the future? And if you want to know about the present, read a motherfucking book and keep up with the news.

What are your favorite /his/ related Youtube channels?
What are the best ones, and what are some noob traps that people fall into?

Lets try to get a good list of agreed upon resources, since narrated videos are often the easiest and most casual friendly way to get introduced into history.

Ok /his/ as it was asked in another thread here it comes.
Why do people have such a hate against the ottoman empire. I understand that everyone suffered during its decline but during its first 400 or so years of existance it was a rich, powerful and for those times pretty tolerant empire which included all its minorities into the rule of the state.

I am left with the impression that it was part of Romania that Poland wrestled away to be her vassal.
Note that I have never researched anything on it, and am just saying what I think of it without any proof or research.

Also I know they dont have any sea access, which is pretty funny considering their location. Even worse than Ethiopia.

The Whites had no internal unity. It was a very loose coalition of warlords, Tsarists, Social Democrats, Liberals, Democratic Socialists etc. They found it hard to co-operate. Compare this to the Bolsheviks who had a very authoritarian and centralised system making it quite easy to organise. They also had the benefit of having no obvious foreign sponsors, so they looked like patriots in comparison to the whites who had support from many foreign powers.

Have a propaganda poster from the civil war.

Does anyone else go to renaissance faires and feel a sort of Sehnsucht for those times? It was an age where the men were men and the women were women. You didn't go to Wholefoods to get a double-triple-organic granola bar. You just went up to your local bar wench and got a big old turkey leg that came from the town you got it in. While you drank your ale in the tavern and ate your turkey leg, bards would perform and sing the tales of valiant heroes. You could even BECOME those heroes, if you were strong enough. You didn't have to "network" to succeed back then. You could just train for combat and become a valiant knight, and that was the simple ideal everyone looked up to. You just served your lord and your people, and you did it with pride. And you didn't have be a cocky asshole alpha male to attract women to you. Back then, you could just win the hand of a fair maiden in a tournament. You just needed to be the strongest warrior, and to the victor the spoils would go. The women weren't shallow and unfaithful; they knew that as your wife they were to be loving yet let you take charge. I bet if feudalism was still around, kekolding wouldn't have become the joke it is now.

It feels like a sort of a lost treasure of a time. I just wish we could've lived in it for more than just some three-day faires.

A better question would be "how were ancient people so gifted at making maps?"

I look at maps of the americas from 1600 or so and wonder how they surveyed so accurately.

first 3 rules of warfare

range
>>
>>63336
Spear...duh. Warfare has always been dominated by 2 things. Numbers and range. If you can reach your opponent, but he can't reach you...you'll probably win. This is why we ditched spears for guns as well, and why we're now destroying our enemies with robot aircraft that the enemy can't see or hear.

I posted this vid in another thread, but it's relevant here too.

Spear.
Even the Roman legionnaires, with their sword&shield combo, still depend on the range and shock of their pila

also against knights- err, cavalry.
